Escape to Turtle Time (4BR/2.5BA – Sleeps 13; 1K, 3Q, 1 Bunk Bed & 1 Single over Double Bunk), a charming vacation home perfectly located at the corner of Portia St. and Jungle Rd. in beautiful Edisto Beach. With thoughtful sleeping accommodations, this home is ideal for family getaways and group vacations.

Located just steps from the island's bike path and a short walk to the nearest beach access, Turtle Time offers the perfect blend of convenience and relaxation. The home's outdoor living spaces are designed to make the most of Edisto's natural beauty. Enjoy al fresco dining or morning coffee on the large sundeck that overlooks Jungle Shores Drive, or unwind on the screened porch facing Jungle Road, where you can feel the coastal breeze.

Inside, the home features a beautifully decorated great room with comfortable seating, perfect for gathering after a day at the beach. The open-concept kitchen is equipped with an eating bar, ideal for casual meals and conversation. Adjacent to the living room, the screened porch and sun deck provide peaceful spots to relax with a book or simply enjoy the serene surroundings.
The primary bedroom, located just down the hall from the great room, offers a King bed, TV, and private en-suite bathroom with a tub/shower combination. Two additional bedrooms are also accessed by the main hallway—one with a Queen bed and the other featuring a bunk bed along with a Single over Double bunk. These bedrooms share a full hall bathroom with a tub/shower. For added privacy, the fourth bedroom is located downstairs with a separate outdoor entrance and includes two Queen beds, a TV, and a half bath.

Additional amenities include high-speed internet access, all hardwood floors for easy maintenance, and an enclosed outdoor shower for rinsing off after a day in the sand. Pets are welcome with an additional fee, and the home is strictly non-smoking.

The separate entry room was inadequate. Needed storage for clothes. But most of all it was musty. The air purifier and ac filters were filthy would not recommend using it for guest. The grass was knee high with sand spurs. Not friendly for children outdoors. Comcast pixelated

As noted in the arrival packet, Edisto has experienced over 20 inches of rain in recent weeks, which has had a major impact on regular lawn care schedules. Our property care team has been in touch with all lawn providers on the island to ensure they are aware of which homes need attention, and they are making every effort to get them addressed as quickly as possible. With the ground-level bedroom, mustiness can sometimes be expected in humid coastal environments, and the excessive rainfall this season has certainly heightened that. We will make sure the air purifier and AC filters are checked and maintained. Regarding the television service, our team inspected the property following your departure and found no issues with connectivity. It seems the buffering you experienced was likely a temporary issue - possibly related to flooding around service lines or the heavy surge of usage during the holiday weekend. We are pleased that the WiFi remained strong, but as noted in our rental agreement, internet and cable can occasionally be intermittent given Edisto’s barrier island location. We sincerely appreciate your comments and will continue working with our property care and maintenance teams to ensure that Turtle Time can be the wonderful getaway it is meant to be. Turtle time was very nice…but needs some love

With so many nice qualities to the house it’s difficult to bring complaints. However, the house could be so perfect with a few simple improvements. While there is a kitchen island that people can sit and use to eat there is not kitchen table making the outside table in the porch important to use. However, every outdoor chair around the table had torn seats and unusable. We had to use our lawn chair. Also, trying to cook a meal in the kitchen was difficult due to space and lack of adequate cooking sullies. There wasn’t even a toaster. There was a great large screened in front porch with one rocking chair. Everyone else had to either sit n the floor or bring our lawn chair out. None of the outside lights worked making walking up and down the steps in the pitch dark unsafe. We had a couple skinned feet and ankles missing a last step or two. This property has the potential to be excellent with just a few inexpensive fixes. There are so many great qualities about the house, location and beach that I hate spending time listing such easy lost cost improvements that are needed to get a 5 star rating.

We’ve shared your notes with the homeowners, and the new outdoor dining chairs have been ordered as well as 2 new rocking chairs for the street side screened porch. Our team is also addressing the lighting concerns under the house. While most of the lighting is working, we identified one photocell light that malfunctioned. It has since been replaced to ensure better visibility and safety. We've adjusted the door strike so that the door can be secured without the deadbolt. We place a small sign on the storm door to assist with user operation. We also wanted to mention that the toaster is in place in the cabinet by the fridge. We try to keep the countertops as clutter-free as possible, which is why it’s stored there rather than out. Should you visit in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team during your stay so that we can promptly address such items to enhance your experience.
