Had a fantastic stay at this great little cabin on the Moose River but within walking distance to everything in Old Forge. Cozy, quaint, rustic, and beautiful!!

Great location. Placed on the river. Very cozy cabin, great Adirondack vibe. Situated a block away from the Main Street in Old Forge. Good grocery store around the corner. Amazing spot for getaway with special some one in your life

Moose River Retreat

Very cute cabin right on the Moose River. Very clean and we'll stocked with everything we needed. Enjoyed watching all of the wildlife, the deer, ducks, beaver, mink and fishing off the dock. The cabin is located on a quiet side street right in the village and walking distance to everything.

Adorable Cottage on the River

We absolutely loved this cottage. It was small, but just perfect for the two of us. The twin beds were so comfortable. Everything was decorated so cute and the place is extremely well kept. The location is right on the river. The views were beautiful. Everything we needed was within walking distance. The owner is so nice and welcoming. We will definitely be back.

Great experience

The beds are feather bedding, with no way to be pushed together. However, it has very kind owners, amazing art, the perfect location in town, georgeous view of the lake, multiple places to relax in nature around the cabin, and gives you a good taste of Old Forge.

Kitchy, Clean Cabin fronting Idyllic small River. Wildlife.

Nice bed mattresses. Everything worked -- all appliances, hot water, lights, plumbing etc. Small capacity water heater, but OK for woodsy location. This is not the Ritz. Small, well outfitted kitchen with everything you need to cook well, including some nice, enamled baking dishes. Take your own sharp knife if you are a chef. Electric stove/oven. Internet went out a couple times but fixed by pulling power briefly on Modem/Router in main house by people staying there. This is a gorgeous, extremely quiet location with chairs and beautiful sitting area down on the small dock on the Middle fork of the Moose River. Stars at night. Deer, beavers, turtles, ducks, mink wandering all over the place and in the river if you know what you're looking for. Firepit with chairs and wood outside cabin. Borrowed hatchet from main house to make kindling from plentiful wood supply. Mostly Empty town because of Covid. Tourist capital of Adirondack in some ways on-season, but low population during this season makes it a paradise currently for introverts -- All the beauty of the area without the people crush. Winter is 120" of snow. Don't know if cabin available in winter. Lots of blankets, pillows, make your own nest type of thing. No A/C but window fans for pulling pushing air into/out of building in sleeping areas. Cool location under shade by river. Screened in porch great for keeping bugs out. Excellent path lighting to find your way out back to this place in the dark. Excellent communications with owner/proprieter. There is quite a bit of kitch in the cabin but it's all in good taste. Owner's beautiful paintings of the natural setting hang on the walls. The place has obviously been cared for in a thorough way over the years, including the construction of the somewhat new sitting area by the dock.

Awesome little cabin right on the riverfront, walking distance to downtown. We were able to launch our kayaks right from the dock, even though the river was low .we saw ducks a mink and two coyotes on the riverbank.

Wonderful little cabin, cozy and clean. Plenty of books and games if there is inclement weather. Lots of kitchen equipment and dishes. Chairs and a small table by the dock. Beautifully decorated with a definate adirondack cabin feel. Perfect base camp for hiking, biking and paddling.

Awesome Little Cabin!

This was an amazing cabin and owner. Couldn’t ask for a better location. It’s a perfect location walkable to Old Forge shops and stores yet tucked away enough to be your own quiet little oasis. The owner is amazing and provided great communication! Highly recommend!

End of summer trip

Always enjoy the quaint lil cabin on the Moose River in Old Forge. Such a peaceful place and close to everything in town with a short walk. The weather was complimentary this trip and close to a full moon. We even had a boat ride on the Fulton chain with our family as they couldn’t resist stopping by the park and picking us up. We had a nice lunch at Daiker’s on 4th lake with the family. Super trip.This is our third time there.

Beautiful cottage in a great location!

This place was beautiful, charming and the location could not be better. It’s right on the moose river and very quiet but also a very short walk from the neighborhood into the town for anything you may want. The amenities were everything we needed, we were able to buy groceries and cook with ease which we very much appreciated. The owners are friendly and gracious hosts and the communication was great. My wife and I had a wonderful time! 10/10

Spring getaway

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the cabin. We enjoyed the gas fireplace to take the morning chill off. Location was lovely on the river. We got to watch the ducks, their babies and other wildlife. Paddling was lovely, fire pit and Adirondack chairs perfect. Property was described accurately.

Cozy Waterfront Close to Shops

Very nice cozy cottage right on the river and only a block away from Main St in Old Forge. Nicely decorated and just enough space for a couple. We visited mid-week in Sept and it was very quiet. Almost no one around except the occasional kayaker coming up the river. Access from the parking area is a few yards downhill, but certainly not a big inconvenience. Great location for both quiet and access to downtown. The cabin is somewhat rustic, but clean & tidy with a pleasant ambience.

So cozy

A beautiful, relaxing vacation surrounded by gorgeous trees, river, and nature. The owners have thought of everything you would need during your stay. We booked for 2024 before we even left loved it so much. My sister and her husband booked the week after us. Just by the photos truly show the detail and beauty of the inside of cabin. A wonderful Adirondack Experience

This is such a great place to stay in Old Forge. Easy walk to downtown, but you also get a sense of remoteness as you are right on the river. Chalet is small but that is all we needed. Saw some notes in other reviews about the walk down, but it really was not an issue. Thank you Claire and hope to be back again,

UNLOADING AND LOADING IS A REAL CHORE VERY INCONVENIENT ACCESS TO PROPERTY. PARKING AREA IS A LONG WAY FROM THE CABIN. I LEFT AFTER 2 NIGHTS, EVEN THOUGH I RENTED FOR A WEEK.

ADK Storybook Cabin

The cabin (more like a cottage) was great. It was much more than we expected. We were in walking distance of almost everything in Old Forge yet felt like we were out in the woods. The property and cabin are very well kept. The porch that facing the river is screened with a nice ADK style breakfast nook. We were able to keep our kayaks right at the dock and take a paddle in the river any time of the day. Very relaxing spot. The host was very nice and communicated everything very well. We plan to stay again.
