Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, within sight of popular Lover's Leap Scenic Overlook, The Lovers' Nest is a modern tiny house that sits on more than 80 acres of land with private hiking trails and a pond.
My friend and I had a wonderful few days at the Lovers' Nest. Although we journeyed to Fairystone State Park and Rocky Knob, we could have been statified just spending the entire time at the house. Highlights included watching the turkeys wander through the field, watch the stars from the hottub, and talking for hours on the swing chairs. It was just the two of us so we had plenty of space but if you are traveling with more people it might be tight inside. Thankful we had beautiful weather to enjoy the outdoor space.
Absolutely perfect place and stay. The hosts were awesome, very communicative and helpful. Getting in was simple, finding the place was easy, and it was easily accessible despite being secluded. The property is exactly as advertised, the 80 acres makes you feel like youâre the only one on the planet which is exactly what we were looking for. We spent a bunch of time just walking the property and the trails. There are a couple that feel like legitimate hikes. We went on a couple days where the temperature didnât get much above high 20âs for most of the day, but the place was cozy anyways. The inside is luxurious, really nicely done and had everything we needed to stay for a few days. Cooking was easy, the fridge was perfect, washer if we needed it. Shower was hot, beds were comfortable. Couldnât ask for more. Weâll be back.
Gosh, I donât even know where to start. I love every single piece of this place. We are such a busy family and were burnt out. We needed to go somewhere to do ânothingâ, and this place was absolutely perfect. So clean, so cute, just about everything you need. I LOVED the binoculars! Iâve never bird watched before. But I found myself not only watching the turkeys and deer that wandered into the field, but watching so many other beautiful birds that Iâve never slowed down enough to even notice. Everything they had there was just so thoughtful. You can tell that the hosts really care about their guests, that we arenât just a money making scheme! I have never felt so relaxed and refreshed. Coming back to real life didnât really feel like a chore. We needed that break and it was amazing. There are only a couple of negatives that I had but that was in ME, but wanted to share in case anyone else has this problem too. Itâs a tiny house, so of course the towels were limited! I wish I had thought to bring beach towels. We each had one towel for the pond, hot tub, and shower! Definitely not the end of the world, I was too relaxed to really care! Also, another heads up for anyone, there arenât any curtains on the windows, so maybe bring a sleep mask if you like to wake up in the dark. I personally loved looking up at the stars, and was up just before the sun peaked up behind the tops of the trees. We cannot wait to come back! It was totally worth our four hour drive! Thanks so much!
