Southern View is a sprawling mountain house located on top of Big Canoe with forever southern views. It is a twenty-minute ride up to the house well worth the beautiful drive. You will feel truly at home and at peace for your quiet getaway to Big Canoe!

The main level houses the kitchen, great room, huge deck with remote-control overhead sunscreen, TV room, and a king-size master suite with a full bath and double vanities. The upper level has bedroom and a large childrens room, and these rooms share a full bath. The childrens room has a double/twin bunk and the other bedroom has a queen bed. The terrace level has a second master suite with a private bath, a huge recreation room with a big-screen TV, pool table, and two single-day bed bench seats. There is also a bedroom with a queen bed and a private bath.

Check-in was quick, the place was ready for us, and the view was awesome. The place fit out size and accommodated us as well. The three issues were an ant infestation in the room/window of the upstairs bunkbed room, the listing had "3 bunks" listed but not present, and the dish washer was unable to be used. The dishwasher had a good amount of smelly, stagnant water stuck in the bottom, and we didn't want to use it in case it was clogged and would overflow into the kitchen. We had to hand wash everything all week. Outside of those things it was a nice trip.

Fantastic property!

There was plenty of room and we loved sitting together at the big table eating and playing games. The view from every window was stunning!

Cabin rental in Big Canoe

We had a wonderful time and the cabin was big and clean. Only thing I would say is it is very dated but we had a wonderful time!!!

Great house in Big Canoe

This is a great house for either large families or if you're hosting a couple of families. Admittedly, it is a bit of a drive from the entrance of Big Canoe, but the views are worth it!

Magnificient Views

The house is fantastic, so cozy, attractive and very well stocked with everything needed for a great get away. The ride up the mountain can be a little scary but it is the only way to get the magnificent view the house provides.

Southern View

The view was totally amazing. Plenty of room in the house. However, the kitchen counter space was a bit limited. Our family enjoyed our stay. A big plus was that there were tons of toys for the kids to play with.

Perfect Mountain Home with Gorgeous Views

My family and I came to stay at this home in early August to celebrate my nieces birthday. We were immediately blown away by the scenic views from the beautiful wrap-around deck and multitude of windows. This house was perfect for family get-togethers with a spacious dining room/family room, new appliances in the kitchen, and 4 bedrooms and bathrooms to accomodate a large party. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this home.

Great trip

It was a wonderful house with an amazing view. Everything we needed was right there. The only negative is that it was such a drive up to get to the house. But again, the view compensated for the length of the drive. We would stay here again. Many thanks.

Big canoe

Cabin was nice and spacious. My only complain would be that the towels and bedding did not feel freshly washed. The towels smelled like they had been left in the wash for too long and then dried.

Thank you for your kind words and staying with us. We use fragrance-free laundry detergent, as we get so many requests from renters to do so- so laundry does not have a "laundry" smell. The cleaners are under strict instructions to re-run towels when they get to the house if they have been started. We have reached out to them to confirm that this is always done. The cleaners said that for the clean prior to this guest, they put the towels in washer dry from the floor and washed through the day so there should not have been a moldy smell (and they will keep an eye on this). They keep records and pictures of everything they do which helps us confirm what is done every time, which we do, that the laundry and sheets are done with pictures proof of each load in the washer, and about 100 pictures of the clean, which is then checked. :) We can confirm the sheets were put on 7 days prior to stay, after the checkout of the prior guest, and house hand checked just before guest arrival. We appreciate you and you and wish you a very blessed 2024!

Great for groups

I stayed in this house for a girls weekend, which was great fun. The house is spacious and well-appointed, with great attention to detail. A large dining room table accommodated our group meals, and the kitchen was a dream for preparing those meals. We went to a nearby farmer's market, and the house is also close to Gibbs Garden. The view of the mountains from the back of the house was spectacular. I look forward to returning to this house.

“Oh my...”

We were nearly speechless when we saw the view. This place has panoramic views from every room, bedroom and bathroom! I cannot express how dramatic this forever view is. The place is also HUGE! Two kings, two queens, bunks and more. Excellent attention from hosts. Really nice grill on a massive deck. Did I mention the VIEW!!!!

Spectacular View

Our family had such a wonderful stay! The view is breathtaking. We enjoyed hiking in the community and sipping hot chocolate on the porch. Be warned that the drive up us a bit scary if you're not useto driving up mountains (we're from Florida). Finding the address can be a bit tricky if your GPS doesn't pickup the correct location. Luckily the property manager was very responsive and friendly and assisted us with anything we needed.

Retreat in the mountains

I spent the weekend at Teaberry Cottage and it was amazing. The view was astounding and the house was very comfortable. We went there to celebrate my daughter's birthday, and there was a lot to do. The kitchen was large enough to make a large dinner which we thoroughly enjoyed in the dining room. There was a ping-pong table downstairs where I attempted to teach my girls how to play. And the rooms were very comfortable. After a long day, I fell asleep instantly. Very much recommended.

Perfect View

We stayed over Labor Day weekend. It was my husband, 3 children and their friends. We had a great time. The house was large enough to accommodate us all without being in top of each other. The deck and view was amazing. It is very quiet and relaxing. The drive up to the house took us a little getting used to but it was manageable. The lakes were fabulous and the hiking was incredible. I especially enjoyed the toys they had for our six year old. The board games were a plus too. The house was clean, the kitchen was well stocked. I would stay here again.

Relaxing Spring Break

The property is very nice. We could tell they have been working on some things. The appliances looked pretty new. The water heater was new we didn't have hot water and saw it needed to be turned on. All was great then. The only thing I wish we would have known was that the indoor pool needs to be reserved and it is $7 person for 45 minutes to swim. It gets expensive to swim with a family for only 45 minutes. The other pools were not open yet since we were there in early April. The view was stunning and the house very comfortable. We would definitely recommend it. It is a drive from the main gate but that was ok for us.

Family Fun in the Mountains

I spent a weekend in this house with my boyfriend's family. It was a great location due to the fact that we had family coming from many different directions and made for a great meeting place. This house was even more wonderful than the pictures suggest! You can tell that the house was always beautiful with vaulted ceilings, endless windows, and a great fireplace but the owners outdid themselves with the updates and renovations. Everything looks very clean and freshly painted and there are some vanities in the bathrooms nicer than my own! The house also features updated appliances which made cooking a blast after a trip to the local farmer's market. None of us could believe how spacious everything was from the bedrooms to the living room and kitchen. With such a nice, open floor plan no one ever feels left out of the conversation. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a getaway!
