Items to note:
- Please note that the bed layout can vary in this unit-options are a queen and sleeper sofa or two double beds. There is no kitchen-just a microwave and refridgerator.
- Guests arriving prior to 4pm- Guests may pre-register with the Front Desk on their day of arrival after 12 noon, unload luggage, and utilize our Valet Service. When their room is available, the Resort will call the Guest's cell phone. Pre-registration helps avoid the long waits at 4pm.
- No smoking inside, including electronic cigarettes. Subject to $300 fine
- Valet: owners=$40/ni, non-owners=$50/ni. Self-park: Public parking at 1 Cumberland St.=$2/hour, $18/day with no moving, or metered street parking.
- $100 pre-authorization due at check-in
- We cannot guarantee unit placement. Our historic buildings house many unique units, some requiring stairs. Downtown noise is unavoidable, but we do offer white-noise machines, ear plugs, and box fans. No daily maid service, but towel exchange is available
- No pets allowed

The location couldn’t have been more ideal. It’s within walking distance of many great restaurants, the City Market, Joe Riley Waterfront Park, and so much more. The entire staff was so friendly and accommodating.

Great location very walkable to lots of areas. Great food close by parking is always an issue but just budget for it. I would suggest adding USB ports to lamps or plugs but loved having coffee maker and microwave and mini fridge in our room. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend

Stay was amazing. The courtyard was such a peaceful place to relax and have a drink at the end of the day. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious and clean and had all the amenities we could ask for. The only complaint was the very strong perfume smell in the lobby, which was obviously the hotel's scent, but it was incredibly overwhelming.

Excellant location, easy walk to many of the historical, must see sights. Parking is valet and 50 per day with in and out privileges. No charge for parking if you bring a handicap placement card with you. Very nice court yard! Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are spacious. I would recommend this place to my family and friends.

We LOVED every minute of our stay! The room was perfect, as was the location. All of the staff were so amazing and helpful. We especially enjoyed chatting with Natalie! Our first time to Charleston was a HUGE success and we will absolutely be back! Thanks for a wonderful and perfect vacation!

Building and rooms were beautiful and had old world charm. Everything was fairly walkable. The staff were wonderful and friendly extremely friendly. The only complaint I have is the room smelled extremely musty and it was overwhelming. The parking situation is also tricky but valet is available.

Excellent location and gorgeous room!

My daughter and I went on a short mother/daughter trip before her senior year. The check-in process was easy, valet was quick, the people were friendly and helpful and the room was gorgeous! I loved being able to grab a cup of coffee in the morning and the texting feature for valet and housekeeping was a nice touch. The location can’t be beat! It’s near everything or a short walk away! Definitely will stay at the Lodge Alley Inn again!

The room was lovely. Large windows overlooking East Bay Street let in so much light. My only negative comment is that there is some early morning noise from the street below. But it's Charleston....that is to be expected. Highly recommend and will stay there again.

Great Location and Smooth Reservation Process

This property is a little different than others we have stayed at using VRBO. Rather than a private property, this is a timeshare resort, and our stay was managed through Koala. That meant we had to also register on Koala's site. However, communication was great with texts and emails to ensure that our visit went smoothly.The Lodge Alley Inn is just like staying in a hotel. There is no breakfast, but coffee and a complimentary newspaper is available each morning. They also don't have daily housekeeping, but you can text the front desk if there is anything you need.They offered valet parking, but we self-parked in the garage at 1 Cumberland and walked about a block to the Inn. Assuming you are reasonably fit, you'll be within walking distance of almost anything on the peninsula. The room itself was better than expected. We were in the main building and our "studio" felt like two rooms. There was a large fireplace in the middle between the bed and living space. The bathroom had gorgeous tile (no tub, just a shower), and there was a small fridge/toaster/coffee pot area. This was obviously an older building, and I noticed that if the dresser drawers weren't pushed in tight, they would slide out because of a slight slope in the room. If you are sensitive to light, it did seem like a fair amount of it seeped in around the door from the hallway. Our room faced the courtyard, and we had no issues with noise.Overall, a great experience. Highly recommended.
