Nestled in the serene small town of Dallas Center, in close proximity to the Greater Des Moines metro area, this peaceful retreat offers the perfect balance of tranquility and convenience. Inside you will find a completely renovated interior featuring comfortable furniture, LVP floors, and clean, stylish decor.
The space
As you enter through the back door, you’ll step into the cozy family room. Here, you’ll find a 65" Roku TV, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. You’re welcome to log into your own streaming services or enjoy movies and live TV through the RokuTV or FreeVee apps. The room also features a convenient sit/stand desk positioned in front of a large window, ideal for those needing to catch up on work. For added privacy or to reduce screen glare, simply close the blackout curtains. We’ve also provided a basketball and a bocce set for your entertainment.

Adjacent to the family room is the fully equipped kitchen, ready to meet all your culinary needs. It includes four place settings, wine glasses, coffee cups, a tea kettle, blender, hand mixer, crockpot, coffee maker, pots and pans, muffin and bread pans, cutting boards, a toaster, electric griddle, mixing bowls, and a variety of utensils for everyday cooking. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances, including a refrigerator with an ice maker, a microwave, a stove/oven, and a dishwasher.

Just off the kitchen, you’ll find the bathroom, complete with a full tub/shower. Extra towels are conveniently stored behind the door, and there’s a stackable washer and dryer for your use. For your convenience, the broom and vacuum are stored between the washer/dryer and the wall.

The dining room, also located off the kitchen, serves as a central hub connecting the rest of the house. The table seats four guests, but if you need more seating, the matching bench can be found in the family room below the coat rack. On the wall, you’ll find the Nest thermostat, with a buffet below, stocked with some of our favorite games for you to enjoy.

To the left of the dining room is the first bedroom, featuring a queen-sized bed with blackout curtains for a restful night’s sleep. The closet includes a luggage rack, hangers, a laundry hamper, and a set of drawers for your belongings.

Exiting the dining room through the French doors, you’ll enter the front room, a relaxing space designed for comfort. The electric couch offers USB ports at each end, with adjustable settings for the recliner, headrest, and lumbar support. There’s also a recliner, which can be adjusted using the pull mechanism between the cushion and the armrest. While seated in the swivel recliner, you can enjoy natural sunlight streaming through the large windows or cozy up by the electric fireplace, which can be used with or without heat.

Off to the left of the front room is the second bedroom, which also features a queen bed and blackout curtains. The room is equipped with two nightstands, each with a three-level touch lamp that includes USB ports. In the closet, you’ll find a luggage rack, laundry hamper, and an iron with an ironing board.

Finally, if you step out the front door, you’ll find two rocking chairs waiting for you—perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings.

Guest access
You have full access to the entire main level of the house, making it your home away from home during your stay. Please note that the basement and the carriage house are off-limits and not available for guest use. We appreciate your understanding and hope you enjoy your time in the space provided!
