Scenic View Retreat is a two bedroom brick cabin located at the edge of the Hocking Hills, with a beautiful fishing pond just outside your door.
This cabin offers all the comforts of home with satellite TV and a reclining leather sofa where you can relax in front of the wood burning fire place. If nature is what you crave this cabin is in the middle of nowhere, no wi-fi or cell service to interrupt nature. You can relax in the hot tub with a view of the pond or have a picnic lunch around the fire pit. There are also trails through the woods where you can take a nature hike. Close to many area attractions we're sure you will find everything you need to enjoy a tranquil, relaxing vacation in the beautiful Hocking Hills ( Thereâs no Wi-Fi and very Limited cell service.)
Even though it rained nearly the entire time, we were able to relax and enjoy the area. Reviews warned us that it was dark in the cabin and that there was no connectivity so that was expected. LR furniture needs an update but the overall stay was great! Loved the pond and fished between downpours! Recommend!
Everything was wonderful!! Great place, very clean beautiful area! Property manager very easy to get in touch with and answered all questions immediately. Thank you for allowing us to get away and enjoy your place!
The cabin was very clean inside. However, the driveway was pretty rough and very dark at night. Very far from any cities but extremely peaceful. A truck or SUV recommended.
This was our 2nd stay at the property. It hasnt changed since the first stay. The house could use some updates and repairs but we knew that going in. We like like it because of the secluded location and the fact that it has no wifi or cell signal. Its a very relaxing place to stay.
This property was very clean! It was an excellent getaway as there is no WiFi or cell reception. They had a nice collection of dvdâs and satellite tv. The only thing I didnât like was the lighting inside. It was dark.
Wonderful experience. Definitely away from civilization. We stayed in the winter and loved the fireplace. Wouldnât want to go if there was snow because of the roads getting there are very hilly and curvy. Beautiful surroundings. We want to come back in warmer weather to explore outside more. Exceptionally clean. Cleaner than most hotels. No service or wifi. Which was just fine by us. We did lose power due to severe storms and tornadoes in the area. The host was extremely helpful in guiding us to things we could do till it came back on. Despite that my husband and I had a peaceful weekend to ourselves and thatâs just what we wanted. đ
Clean and warm, just did not realize the bed in the second bedroom was so small my husband slept on the couch because we were not comfortable in the bed. The bed in the bigger room smelled like urine, we bought some extra blankets, we think it was the comforter. Other than that the host did tell us the bathroom was tiny . The hot tubs jets were not very strong so we only got in it once. The pond was very nice and beautiful outside surroundings
Very nice secluded area with its own pond. Me and my wife had a great time. The only thing i would have change was more privacy. I know its in the middle of nowhere but we would have felt alot better if we had blinds. There is only two blinds in the main bedroom and thats it. The rest are curtains/drapes. Other than that it was a great time. We enjoyed the on site fishing and the hot tub. Nice little selection of dvds. Also nice place to get away from devices as there is no service while at the cabin. Forcing you to explore and be outside like it used to be. I brought my 12ft fishing boat and was able to park and turn it around in the parking area. It was a tight and meticulous turn around but it was possible. We took the boat to lake logan, its just a short 20 min drive from the cabin, and the beach is there as well. We also was only 13 mins from the jack pine festival. All around great time and place to stay.
Our experience was really good. The pond has an oily film on it and the driveway to the cabin has some pretty good sized pot holes that need filled in. There is a TV but the only thing you can use it for is watch DVD's because the trees have grown over the satellite and there's no reception for regular television viewing. In fairness it's not listed in the amenities. This was our 5th time renting Scenic View.
This was our 4th stay. The satellite tv was out because the trees are so thick but thats to be expected. We still enjoyed our stay and we can watch tv at home.
Good amenities with the hot tub and grill. They tell you there's no Wi-Fi and limited service, but you'll live without it, trust. The one bedroom is pretty cramped, so you might wanna only bring up to 3 people. Owners were responsive and helpful. Nice and secluded, but the road getting back there is pretty bad. Be cautious driving on it. 15-20 minutes from the park.
Traveling to this cozy cabin tucked back in the woods was everything we needed. The house is so sweet and the pond with the babbling run off is enough to send you to a nap (which is lovely in the chairs mid day). The owners were super quick to answer the question we did have and even offered their personal number should we need anything else. I absolutely understand why people want to come back and we canât wait to book again either. Good location to all the Hocking Hills parks and some lesser known ones too. Stop reading go book!!
Bath tub motor was not working. Could have kept bath essentials better as we couldnât buy anything nearby. Same is the case with some basic groceries
This was our 3rd stay here and we love it. If you want to get away from the internet and cell phone service for a while, this is great. The view is great and the house is clean and comfortable. We are planning our next trip.
