Our reservation was cancelled by the owner 20 hours before check in b/c the hot water heater needed to be replaced. We flew to AZ from TX for a wedding, then drove 2 hours to Sedona, only to find out via email upon check in that our reservation was cancelled. I understand things come up, but a trip to Home Depot and a plumber can easily swap out a hot water heater in a couple of hours. The fact that the owner cancelled less than 24 hours is not acceptable. If I were to cancel my reservation 20 hours prior to arrival, I would not have received a refund. Do not recommend this listing.
The only complaint is that we did not have AC even though the listing states the unit does. The ceiling vent for the AC and what appeased to be the thermostat were covered with black tape. There were 2 fans for each room so it wasnât bad at night. The place was well stocked and had everything you would need in a kitchen. Plenty of towels, blankets etc super convenient to walk to everything. We loved our stay thpugh.
Simple accommodations, comfortable and clean. But the floor of the house is slanted significantly and made my husband a little woozy walking around. We had friends staying at the RV park, so it was great to be in a walkable distance.
Flew from PA to Sedona to stay at this location. Checkin was at 3. At 1, I hadnât heard from the owner so I called. No answer. I then messaged the owner. That is when I found out that they were cancelling our trip due to âplumbing issues since their place is historical siteâ. Well, thing is⊠When I called at 1, I witnessed two ladies taking bags in for a stay, I drove by and took a picture.⊠they werenât plumbers⊠Karma
I would say the cabin was as described by the owner. Older but clean, adequate for two. The cabin, while somewhat historic is a bit worn and in need of a good bit of maintenance. It's best aspect is it's location, if you want to be close to the tourist area of Sedona, or focus your hiking on the Schnebley Road area. Parking is tight, on property, as there are two cabins sharing a small driveway.Communication with the owner was a bit difficult, and we normally waited 3-7 days for responses, but they did work with us in reference to bringing our dogs with us, and it was appreciated. Overall, if you're not looking for a place you would spend a great deal of time hanging out in, but more a place to sleep and then break out for the day, it will work. As the cost of renting keeps climbing, the little things really start to matter. Sparse, basic living spaces do work, but I would likely try others before going back.
Nestled right off the Sedona strip of shops, restaurants etc. perfect quiet get away for fantastic hiking. Heaters came in handy- comfy king bed- hot tub was soothing after our hikes! So happy to get to Sedona! Iâll be back!
The place itself is great. However if you are a pet owner looking for a pet friendly rental, avoid this place. The owner will throw damages and charges at you over dirt and hair. If youâre not an animal lover, enjoy the mice in the walls at night. Also make sure you ask them to preheat the hot tub before you arrive.
The cabin was great! It was clean and fully furnished.
We loved the privacy and the fact it was still so close to everything we wanted to see and do.
