Magical Wedding Location

This beautiful home was the location for our lakefront wedding! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect spot to say, "I Do!" Robert and Marian were more than helpful. They made sure the house looked wonderful and helped with the planning of our special day. Boats ventured up during our ceremony to look on as we exchanged vows, and many offered a "toot" of their horn as we were pronounced husband and wife. After the ceremony, our friends and families shared in our special day with a backyard barbeque. We received much praise from our guests about how perfect our location was. Many said this was the best wedding they had ever attended!! Our week continued after our magical wedding with beautiful morning views and daily trips out on the boat and kayaks. We swam, fished, kayaked, went boating, and shared countless family memories during our stay at this beautiful home. We are looking forward to our return trip to this home!

We want to come back!

My husband and I loved this property with so many extras to enjoy. It was immaculately clean and welcoming. The house has wood floors, granite counters, quality construction and furnishings. The toys, games, canoe and kayaks were fun and well organized and stored. Even the life jackets were clean and hung to keep dry. The yard and deck are huge, everything as presented on Vrbo. Some of our family came for a day-long picnic. A good time was had by all with plenty of room and activities. The owner was easy to contact and replied in minutes. He even called during our stay to make sure everything was in order. Thank-you Robert for everything!

So relaxing

May as well stop thinking and just book. The lake and home are so beautiful. Surrounded by nature and things to do, with anything you could need already in home or just a short drive away. We look forward to future memories being made here!

Graduation Weekend

What a great place to stay for graduation weekend - I would definitely come back to enjoy what this Lake House has to offer. Travel time to UMich was 30 minutes. Communication was excellent with the owners, the place is very clean and has everything you need. They are extremely generous and checked in on us as well. They make you feel as if the home is your own! We were able to enjoy morning coffee on the deck, and a beautiful sunrise. Thank you

Perfect house for our group!

There were 6 of us, including 2 small dogs. We had a lovely time staying here! We took advantage of the kayaks and the pontoon boat many times and were appreciative that we didn't have to go somewhere else to rent them. We also loved just hanging out on the huge deck doing nothing. The big back yard was perfect for our dogs to run around. A bonus was the family of 4 cranes that made daily visits to the neighborhood!

Summer Fun on Strawberry Lake

We stayed at Robert and Marion's 'cottage' on Strawberry Lake for a week. We had a great time on the water, swimming, pontooning, fishing, kayaking and paddle-boarding. It helped that the weather was so lake-perfect as well. The house itself was comfortable and welcoming, with ample space for our group. The huge deck was wonderful, and the AC was great when life on the deck was too warm. All in all, we had a great time !!! Cheers, Randy and Lydia

Great relaxing week on the lake!

We had a wonderful stay at this property! The house is much larger than it appears and we actually did not end up even using the front portion of the house. The owners are wonderful to work with. They have everything you could possibly need at the house, and you truly only need to pack your clothes and food for your stay. Thank you and we hope to stay there again!

Great weekend getaway

We were looking for a house out of the way but close enough to stores so we could supply the weekend. This house fit the bill perfectly. The views are amazing. The house is very well maintained and a great layout. Exactly what we were looking for. The deck overlooks the lake and is huge! The bedrooms where nice and beds comfortable. The rooms were spread out just enough the the snorers didn’t bother anyone. Everything worked and was clean. We would definitely stay again! Thank you for allowing us to use your home.

Beautiful views, relaxing spaces

My family stayed here for 2 weeks in July. One son and family for 1st week, other son and family 2nd week. Owners we're very accommodating for our cross over. Marion called in advance to ask specific questions for our family to be prepared and provided additional information about what we'd need/property. I chose to rent the pontoon and kayaks and it was well worth it. I'm a kayak afficianado now. We had a blast! The deck was wonderful and we had the best seats for travelers coming out/in of the river as well as sandhill cranes, geese, ducks, rabbits and birds of all kinds. My young grandchildren were able to catch all the bluegill they wanted right off the pier. They supply everything you might need other than food and clothes. We had horrible storms our last day, power was out all over and they made sure we were safe and had enough time to leave the next day, even though they were at a special family function. Wonderful owners!

Strawberry Lake House

We had family come in from all over the country for my daughter's graduation from the University of Michigan. The first time you drive there is feels like it is a long way from anything but is really less than 30 minutes from the places we needed to be. There is a large grocery store nearby making setting up very convenient. One of our friends mentioned that they felt like they were "up north" and I agreed. We had deer in the lawn every morning. My 4-stars was based on the air mattresses. We were told the one on the couch leaked and we found the other one had a slow leak also. I don't think it uncommon for them to leak and if you are putting kids on the air mattress it probably doesn't matter but we had adults and it mattered a little. I am also not sure how the two air mattresses would have worked in the one room where they are found. Robert thanked us for mentioning it and said it was important for him to know in order get it fixed. The kitchen was well-equipped and we had a large family gathering. There is a 4x8 table in the kitchen area and small dinette. We had room for everyone to sit down and enjoy conversation.

Great place for a family vacation!

This house was lovely. There were so many fun "extras." Everyone enjoyed pontoon boat rides, a few of us tried out the kayaks, and the kids loved the pedal carts. The kitchen was well stocked with necessities. The view from the deck was beautiful, and there was plenty of comfortable patio furniture. The owners were very available and responsive to any questions or concerns. The kids loved having so much space to run and play in the yard between the house and lake. The only thing I would change: add more hooks or bars for hanging towels in bathrooms and/or bedrooms. :)

Great getaway close to Ann Arbor and Brighton

This is a very well-maintained, elegant house on the water with a sweeping lawn. We were 2 kids and 2 adults. There was a lot for the kids to do. It would be great for 3 adult couples and could fit more fairly easily. My family had a really nice time. Our rental came with use of a pontoon boat which was a huge plus!

The property was beautiful! The early morning view of the lake was spectacular!

The home was cozy and inviting, my favorite was the awesome view of the lake from the kitchen table! The home was well stocked with lots of cooking utensils and all sorts of supplies. My family really enjoyed their stay, we will be back again! Thank you Robert and Marian for extending your beautiful home to us!

Great winter getaway

I took my granddaughters, age 8 and 11, to see snow for the first time. This was the PERFECT spot. Big back yard to play in, close to a grocery store and a number of recreation spots nearby. Ski resort less than 10 miles away and a perfect hill to sled on was nearby. Great view of the lake (frozen this time of year) and a perfect spot to watch the snow fall. The house was large and well stocked with all the comforts of home. (Had more kitchen gear than we have at home). Robert was great, he called the day before we arrived with a snow update and called to check on us the first evening. Could not have been a better stay and I know the girls will remember this trip for the rest of their lives.

Great accommodations for family gathering

Spacious, comfortable, warm & welcoming home that accommodated our family for Christmas week. Owners were responsive to all inquiries. Thank you for holiday decorating! Great open space w lots of windows w lake view. Kitchen conveniences and supplies galore for cooking for a crowd while they visit at the large dining table. Seats 10+. All you need to bring are your clothes & groceries. Plenty of toys, games, books and dvd for all ages. Comfy beds, loads of towels & linens. Baby equipment includes high chair, booster seat, pack&play, plenty of kid dinner ware. Washer & dryer too! 3 bedrooms sleeps 7. 4 more spots if you use sofa bed and air mattress. Plenty of parking. Loved the fireplace room. Will recommend to family and friends. Looks like a great summer rental too.

A perfect weekend on Strawberry Lake!

This home is at an ideal location for easy access to Detroit airport, as well as Ann Arbor. Home is much larger than anticipated, and fully stocked for any basic need. Unbelievable view of Strawberry Lake! We will be back!

Great Place! Great Time! The pictures do not do it justice!

The pictures of this rental do NOT do it justice! It is a beautiful place on a great chain of serene inlets and lakes. It is at the end of a quiet street in a quaint area. The entire place has high ceilings for an airy atmosphere. The master bedroom was very comfortable and the bathroom shower is newly remodeled and the one of the best showers I've ever been in. We rented the cabin to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, but we would love to come back and bring our family for vacation. We rented this place the day before our check-in date. The owners were very responsive to our inquiries and readily available to help get us checked in on time. They were very accommodating, warm, and organized. The place has many amenities including a pontoon (separate fee, but the price was fair and totally worth it...cruising through the lakes and inlets was true R&R), kayaks, life jackets in all sizes, fire pit by the water, huge spanning backyard, nice patio furniture, jetted tub...Lastly, the location was a perfect drive to Ann Arbor, where we took in a U of M football game. We enjoyed taking the back roads into the city to miss the traffic...very scenic drive and about 30 minutes. This place really made our weekend special and we will definitely consider coming back! Peaceful retreat

Lovely home! Laid out perfectly for a couple guests or many! Beautiful view of the lake and a big deck to watch the birds. Everything you need is provided! Slept good in the comfy bed.

Great house for Christmas.

Great holiday home! The owners decorated for Christmas, including a tree, which made our stay extra special. The house is much lovelier than the pictures portray; the layout is spacious and the cathedral ceilings make it perfect fora large gathering. The bedrooms are spread out for privacy, and there were plenty of linens. Very well equipped kitchen -- and all with a lake view. Convenient to Ann Arbor, with lots of fun eating & shopping. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Wonderful Place to Spend Thanksgiving!!

We spent Thanksgiving here to visit our daughter ( a UMich student) and go to the football game on Sat. Robert is easy to work with and responds quickly to all questions. The pictures of this house do not do it justice! It is roomy, has a good layout for privacy and is very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is the best stocked in any vacation house we have ever rented and we were able to cook a full holiday dinner no problem! The deck facing the lake is huge (although we didn't use it) and would be a great hangout in the summer. I would definitely rent here again. Just hope no one beats me to it for Thanksgiving of 2017! Thanks Robert!

Family Getaway

We had a great time on Strawberry Lake. The house is at a perfect location on the chain of lakes. The house is beautifully decorated and is very cozy. I love the deck and has alot of room to entire a large party. Rob and Marian were very hospitable with fresh flowers and left us cake from their family party. The house is equipped with all necessities! Our young kids loved it with the huge sand box by the lake and the fishing. They caught lots of fish not far from the dock. We used the pontoon daily and went thru alot of gas. Pizza was fabulous at Zukey lake tavern! Neighbors were very friendly. Would love to spend time with the family again! Awesome place!
