Nice big house that was accommodating for 4 families. Great location to Roxbury and Plattekill. Big sledding hill in backyard for kids. Would rent again.
We were a group of two families and the bedrooms upstairs and on the lower level allowed each family some privacy with lots of shared space on the main floor. The location was awesome, felt remote but was about 5mins into town and close to Plattekill Mt for skiing. There were a few missing essentials for cooking like serving and mixing bowls but the espresso machine was top notch.
Nice living and dining space. Plenty of room to spread out.
with 3 bedrooms up and 2 down you can. A few of the outlets are not currently working and there may be a yellowjacket nest that needs to be dealt with near the back deck. Outside of that I would rent it again
We booked this property a couple of months prior to staying. The property was beautiful just wished it had been as pretty as the pictures. It didn't seem like it had been mowed in a while so they did a last minute mow before we arrived and there was dead grass everywhere and we tracked it in our car and the home. The dock out to the pond was in disrepair. Other than that is was nice. The inside was beautiful and as pictured except there was a leak in the upstairs bathroom and leaked into the downstairs hall and bathroom. The owners were quick to respond but weren't able to get it fixed till after we left. They did offer to have us leave early and give us back our money with some extra compensation . We just decided not to use the shower in the upstairs bathroom instead since we were unable to find anything else to meet our needs. The main floor and upstairs were perfect and they had plenty of space and things for the kids to do. The biggest downfall of the property was that we tried to use the downstairs area but the smell was horrific and actually made us feel sick after a few minutes down there. We did see some water in some pails in a closet downstairs and also saw where they had apparently had a prior flood downstairs cause the bottoms of the doors were rotting and falling apart. We also saw some mold growing in 2 of the downstairs cabinets. We just didn't venture downstairs after that 1st night.
This house has a ton of potential- it is spacious, gorgeous and on a beautiful piece of land. Itâs like a big log cabin. Unfortunately, the house can use a deep cleaning and some serious TLC. We were not made aware of a recent leak in the basement (where two of the bedrooms are) until our socks were soaked. It did not, however, smell of mold, so it must have been a new issue that was not addressed. The cabinets were well stocked but with old, messy products that should be cleaned up. The kitchen had almost everything we needed, but we were not aware that there is a (lovely) espresso.machine, and we had regular beans. The one other big issue was that the long driveway leading up the hill to the house was not plowed. Luckily, we have an SUV, but if we hadnât, there would have been a problem. Again, this house has so much potential and was clearly taken care of some years ago. It just needs some cleaning and love.
