The house and property are beautiful. Located in a quiet, calming and relaxing location where the only sound you hear is nature. We wish our stay was longer. The house itself was clean and well kept and sufficiently stocked with all the essentials.Fred is an excellent host making our arrival our stay and our departure a breeze.
I had looked online at quite a few cabins, but this one looked perfect, and it was everything I was hoping and more!We had a beautiful winter escape to the Catskills, curling up near the wood burning stove, playing board games, enjoying beautiful views from the huge windows, and a nice big soaker tub to relax in. We played board games, did some fat-tire mountain biking, went bowling nearby, and watched the snow falling. A great week! Our host provided us with clear instructions for check in and check out, and was available to answer our few questions during our stay.Perfect!
We love staying here. Such a beautiful cabin and property. A great place to getaway from city life and relax. Fred is a great host. Excited to come back!
Amazing cedar chalet from the 70âs, beautifully renovated and furnished. Great deck overlooking the woods.
My husband and I had a peaceful and restful vacation, away from the madding crowds.
We really wanted to like this place, and it has many good qualities, but we felt annoyed multiple times a day while we were there. This is not a complete list of concerns
It was a very hot week. No AC and only one fan that we lugged up and down, and all around. The âfront screen doorâ is a hazard that was installed backwards and has so much tension we injured ourselves. Screens were haphazardly good and bad. The âdeck screen doorâ was barely operable until we cleaned it out and, even then, it operated poorly enough to be a source of aggravation. The deck needs to be sanded-- splinter in my toe, and refinished. No laundry soap, just fabric softener, made us wonder how the towels and linens were washed?
The lights in the great room do not dim and are painfully bright. These are the only lights you can turn on from the bedroom to walk down the stairs. There is one, heavy, floor lamp. The kitchen has new appliances, but there's very little counter space. Flatware is in a container on the counter that you have to dig through. There were only three teaspoons and two wine glasses. There is no closet or hooks in the master bedroom. Both the master and lower bedroom have bed frames that stick out and hit your ankles and legs as you drag the fan around or open and close the windows. The rug under the dining table has no âgripperâ mat. I slipped multiple times.
Itâs a lovely setting. Very remote. Many good things but no space left to write.
My wife and I wanted to get away for a couple of weeks and go someplace quiet. We couldn't have made a better choice than the Cedar Chalet. Private, silent and in the wonderful Catskills forest. Fred, the owner, is really nice, he made arrangements to come by one day and deliver a new microwave and do some yard work. It was great meeting him.
The kitchen was stocked with everything imaginable, the house was very clean and beautiful We loved everything. The deck, the yard, we made S'mores in the fire pit, most mornings 4 turkeys would drop by to look around under the apple tree, and the night sky was marvelous.
We stayed 14 nights, never watched TV, we just wanted to listen to nothing. Also it's a great location if you like driving back roads in the mountains, like we do, and visiting various towns. Wifi and Verizon cell coverage were spot on.
In summary, we loved it, hope to come again, everything worked fine and we were sad to have to leave.
My husband and I stayed at this cabin for our minimoon and it was everything we wanted it to be. The outside deck was so cute and peaceful. I would have my morning tea out there (with a blanket around me because it was a bit chilly). The wood stove warmed the cabin up really nicely and made the living room area super cozy. The cabin was very spacious and each room had its own personality. Loved all the salt lamp night lights as well. Perfect peaceful getaway.
We had an amazing and restful trip. It is a very quiet secluded beautiful cabin and property. Silent at night, incredible stars. Our 3 year old loved it. Canât wait to go back.
The cabin is oh so charming and very special, we had an amazing time. We loved watching the snow while tending to the fire. We were able to do lots of cooking and also snuck in some good movies. It's a great spot with excellent hosts!
Wonderful peaceful house and property with everything you need and more. Lots of attention to detail all around. Only issue would be the sound of a machine in the downstairs bedroom closet that turns on and off. A more substantial door/soundproofing would be an easy solution. Otherwise highly recommended.
This property was a great escape from the asphalt and noise we are typically surrounded by in our everyday lives. The owner was very responsive to all of our correspondence and helpful with any questions we had about the property and surrounding area. I would highly recommend this property if you were looking to step away from your normal hectic life and step back and appreciate the natural nature of the Catskills Mountains. Very central to hiking trials, bike path, and lots of small towns with unique character and charm.
The chalet is a prefect retreat surrounded by lush forest and mountains and well equipped with basic amenities/ essentials.
Property managers were prompt to answer all our queries. We enjoyed nearby trails and creeks. Stargazing experience was amazing. We will definitely come back!!
Wonderful place in a beautiful location. Clean, spacious, and the kitchen was well stocked. My wife and I went for a long weekend and it was all we hoped for.
Comfortable, fun family vacation in wonderful cabin
Our family with 2 small children enjoyed our short stay in this beautiful cabin, which had an even better feel than was expected based on the description. The open layout allowed for quality indoor time while the weather didn't cooperate. The cabin had all we needed for a comfortable stay and for entertainment. There is strong wi-fi and good cellular reception. The wood stove warmed up the cabin very quickly (the insulation is impressive) and there was plenty of cut wood. The surrounding woods were refreshing, and the fire pit is a great plus. The cabin is quiet and feels isolated, yet shops are only a quick drive away. Checking in and out was very easy. Communication with the owners was just right: we received a friendly message to confirm check-in and they were very quick to respond with the required information when the power went off in the area for a couple of hours during the day - this was not due to a problem with the cabin and everything re-started perfectly. It was clear that the owners put in great effort in keeping the place clean and pest-free, and aside from a few small details in the kitchen, everything was great indoors and outdoors. This is a wonderful place to relax in nature and to explore the Catskills for a reasonable price.
Cozy cabin within 15 minutes from closest ski slopes and perfect quiet place to chill by the fireplace after the skiing all day.
We would come back again.
Thank you!
The Chalet is rustic, quiet, and brings a feeling of calm. My kids and I agreed that it is the kind of place we would retire to enjoy views of nature by the stove, out the windows, or from the porch. We made a few easy drives to Bellearye Mountain and enjoyed some of the local fare.
We spent Christmas here with family from London. We loved the modern, generous layout of the space, the warm cedar interior and the way it is flooded by light. It almost feels like youâre outside while you watch the sunrise with your mug of coffee by the beautiful wood burning stove. Beds are super comfortable, the place is very clean and there is a good energy all around. We found all the kitchen utensils we needed to make a nice dinner. Our family loved it, it reminded us of Switzerland. We went skiing to Bellayre, which is close by. We already talked about coming back. We all had a great time.
We are a down to earth, nice and simple couple who absolutely love the beauty and genuineness of the Catskills. Nature, art, live music, overall wellness, exercise, healthy and hearty cooking, social community causes are a few of our interests.
We fell in love with the home the first time we walked up the snowy driveway one late spring. It held so many of the characteristics that we wanted in a home (very private towards the end of dead end road, surrounded by woods, a rustic cozy cedar wood framed house, with simple architecture; all in a beautiful nice small town, rural and natural unspoiled part of the Catskills.
The outside deck and covered eating area are wonderful to view and take nature - the sounds, smells and sights of the woods, birds and mountains. In the house you can enjoy the wood stove to be warm and cozy in the winter; also the kitchen is equipped with all the kitchen utensils, pots and pans, and basic food staples you would need to cook nice home cooked meals.
