Updated 1890's Farmhouse in Quaint Vermont Village
Vermont small town living in the heart of the village. Vintage family home with enough modern amenities to satisfy the whole family. Located just 2 miles from one of the longest running ski tows in the USA, our little town was chosen by Hollywood to film 2 Beetlejuice movies and the charm remains. Large outdoor "garden room" filled with mature Hostas and plenty of seating or enjoy our newly remodeled front porch with ample seating and style. Although built close to the road, as many houses during this era, we have easy parking and a great flat backyard bordered by the Tabor Branch of the Waites River.
We had a lovely stay. We had plenty of space and different places to relax indoors and out. The kitchen was great for cooking and plentiful pans and dishes. There were great places in the area for swimming, and we loved the childrenâs museum. The hosts were lovely and helpful. I think our kids would have been content just having a vacation of playing with the toys. Thank you!
Host went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Not in a particularly touristy area, but we were there to visit family so it was fine with us. Very well stocked with kitchen items, towels, blankets, etc. Everything you could possibly need and more
The hosts were very pleasant and friendly to talk with and so open with talking about family! Our stay here was inviting we felt at home the entire trip. Their location was fun to explore and the locals very friendly! Would absolutely stay here again. Based on the host's (Peggy) taste in home decor, I believe my wife may have found as kindred spirit!
Beautiful historic house, very clean and well stocked and if your a fellow"juicer" like me you can stay in a house that has ties to the film. Peggie was an amazing host. We had such a nice weekend and are so thank ful for her to have been able to stay in such a beautiful home. I hope to plan a trip next year for late fall to see the amazing foliage. People were so right when they told me Vermont is gorgeous!!
Excellent. Peggy was a great host and met us when we arrived to go over a few things in the house. She was so helpful with information before we arrived and while we were at her home. It is very clean and comfortable living space. Loved the front porch to relax. Beds very comfortable. Would would love to return. Cool being so close to the area where they filled Beetle Juice.
The home was clean, comfortable, and large enough for us to spread out and find privacy when we wanted to. Everything we could have needed was available (linens, kitchenware).I lived the first ten years of my life in E. Corinth so I enjoyed seeing familiar homes and landmarks and it was a joy to show my daughters and grandson the library I spent so much time at and the church and (former) store my brothers and I would walk to and the woods I roamed, etc. The home itself gave me the feel of an old VT farmhouse, but with some elegant updates. We enjoyed spending time on both the front and back porches. The homeowners were very responsive and thoughtful. During our stay there was a very unusual heatwave. It was extremely high heat, especially for VT in June. Peggy and Wayne bought an additional window AC and installed it when the heat came, making it much more comfortable. Growing up in VT we never had AC and rarely needed to use a fan to be comfortable during the summer, so I wasn't really expecting AC at the house. It was important to the hosts that we were comfortable and I really appreciate their efforts.Evreyone in our party loved the house and location.
As we arrived our great hosts were there to welcome us after our long drive. They made us feel at home in this lovely house with a porch and a very well equipped kitchen. The house was very big for us (a couple) and I can see how it can easily accomodate a family. The hosts actually use this house at times so there is everything in it. Except for the simple facts (bathrooms, kitchen, comfortable beds etc.) I must mention the warmth. You can feel it in every corner of the house. Everything was lovingly arranged. We will definitely come back if we are in that area.
Hi, We are Wayne and Peggy, your hosts and we are looking forward to meeting you! We have lived in our Village Farmhouse for the last 25 years. Our children are all grown and the grandchildren who spent most of their summers here are mostly in college or grad school. However when we thought of selling the house there arose a great degree of sadness from those grandkids whose childhood memories revolve around summers and holidays here. Because we also love the house and have spent so much time making it work for us by knocking down walls opening spaces and adding windows and light, we decided to keep the house and use it whenever we needed for family gatherings and then share it with others via Short Term Renting.
The village is a very close neighborhood and in 25 years I have only seen a few people new move in. People here are kind and helpful and super friendly.
Our Village Farmhouse is a welcoming place. We have made our property a special place to enjoy time with family and friends. We created the large eat-in kitchen space to allow more than one cook and still have plenty of space to gather while preparing meals either in the kitchen or the large dining room. We love outside spaces so the front porch, small back eating deck and the shaded hosta garden are all great spaces to enjoy the while outdoors.
