Ski Run Retreat: Cozy Tahoe Cabin

Welcome to this Cozy Cabin Retreat in the heart of South Lake Tahoe! Located off of Ski Run Blvd, the cabin is just a short walk from the shores of Lake Tahoe and are near Heavenly Ski Resort, the casinos, and other local attractions. Ideal for families and small groups, this classic cabin offers a fully equipped kitchen, bbq and picnic area, and comfortable beds.

Our classic cabin is comfortably furnished and includes a gas fireplace, Smart TV, fully-equipped kitchen, and well-appointed bedrooms. The main level consists of the living area, kitchen and dining area, laundry room, full bathroom (shower/tub combo), and two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a queen bed and dedicated work space. The second bedroom has a bunk bed (full on bottom bunk, twin on top bunk). The second bathroom (shower only) is located upstairs, as well as the third bedroom with king bed, and fourth bedroom with queen bed. The side yard features a charcoal BBQ and picnic table.

The history of this property makes it so unique and special. Built in 1946, many design features are original, such as the stairway handrail made of aspen trees cut down by the builder and his sons from Ski Run Blvd. Five other homes on our street were also built by the same builder.

- GUEST REQUIREMENTS: Guests must have a minimum of three (3) 5-star reviews, or an average rating of 4.8 or above with five or more reviews. Newer guests may need to provide additional information during the booking process. A verified direct phone number on the guest's profile is required for direct communication prior to reservation. Failure to provide a valid contact number may result in reservation cancellation. Please be aware, this is a family home, not a party house.

- PARKING: 2 vehicles only parked front to back in driveway, NOT side to side. Park on the left side of the driveway; the right side is reserved for our long-term tenant in the back unit. Park on concrete pad only, not on front yard. No street parking November 1-May 1 due to City snow removal operations. The City will fine guests $1,000 for bringing more than 2 vehicles.

- COMMUNICATION: Please send all communications through the booking site. If it is an emergency, please call the host or local contact. A check-in message will be messaged to you 2 days before your scheduled arrival with information regarding entry to the home, wifi information, parking, etc.

-NOISE: Please be mindful of noise levels and be respectful of our long-term tenant in back unit. This is not a party house. Quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am.

- OCCUPANCY: Per order of the City of South Lake Tahoe, there is a strict maximum occupancy of 8 guests, 2 vehicles, and 1 dog that cannot be exceeded at ANY TIME. Parties and weddings are prohibited. The occupancy and vehicle limits are for any time/duration and include all occupants AND any of their guests.

- CHECKOUT: Leave the home in good condition, following checkout procedures. Late check-out fee is $200 if property is not vacated 30 minutes after 10 AM check-out. More than 2 hours late results in an additional day charge.

- LATE CHECKOUT & EARLY CHECK-IN: Early Check-in or Late Check-out is subject to availability but must be requested and approved 24 hrs in advance.

- EARLY DEPARTURE: No refunds due to early departure. Cancellation policy still applies.

- DOG POLICY: Only one dog is permitted, no other pets. There will be a $500 fee for any violators. You must pick up after your pet. Do not let your dog on the furniture and never leave it home alone unless crated. Guests are responsible for any damage done by your pet. The front yard is not fenced, so please keep your dog on a leash while outside. Please also be aware that there are coyotes in our neighborhood and they will attack dogs. ALWAYS keep an eye on your leashed dog while outside.

- NO SMOKING: Smoking is not allowed in the house and cigarette butts must be properly disposed. Tahoe is a high fire risk area. No smoking of any kind, including marijuana and vaping, due to fire hazard. A $500 fee applies for smoking violations. No bonfires or fireworks. Follow the smoking policy for safety and conservation.

- TRASH: Trash must be properly stored in the bear box by the drive way. The bear box MUST be locked and no trash can be left outside of it or bears will be attracted. The City will fine for those who bait bears.

- BBQ: Do not leave any food unattended on the BBQ or picnic table. Bears will be attracted and guests will be fined by the City for baiting bears. BBQ is charcoal and can NOT be used on Red Flag Days (high fire risk days). Host will notify you of these days.

- TRAVEL PREPARATIONS: Winter stays must have a 4WD vehicle with chains due to weather conditions. Stock extra food for potential storms. Monitor weather conditions before traveling. Purchase trip insurance to cover unforeseen events affecting reservations.

- WEATHER CONDITIONS: No refunds due to road closures or adverse weather conditions, which include but not limited to: snow storms, blizzards, ice, smoke, wildfires. We cannot control the weather. It is your responsibility to stay informed of weather/climate events.

- COMMERCIAL USE: Photo/video productions require proper licensing and release. Personal photos and sharing are encouraged, but commercial or professional productions require pre-negotiated rates and a location release.

- GOVERNING LAW: This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the state of California and under the permit with the City of South Lake Tahoe #008118

- INDEMNIFICATION: Guest agrees to indemnify and hold Homeowner harmless from any liability for personal injury or property damage sustained by Guest or parties invited onto the property by Guest.

- VIOLATIONS: Up to $1,000 citations WILL be issued to occupants &/or owners for code violations at VHRs. Responding officers have no discretion and will issue citations without a warning. Please respect the property, wildlife, and neighbors. No parties allowed. Violation will lead to immediate cancellation without refund.

If you have received a citation for a VHR violation and you wish to contest it, you may appeal the citation. The instructions are on the back of the citation. You may use the Citation Appeal Form (PDF) which must be received by the Citation Processing Center (a third party located in Newport Beach, CA) within 30 days of the citation issuance or you may file the appeal online with the Citation payment. No payment or appeals will be accepted at any City of South Lake Tahoe offices.
