Shore Thing was a nice stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First time to the outer banks, nice easy walk to the beach (the trail went right beside the pool). The pool doesn't get much sun, so it was pretty cold (which would probably be nice in the hot summer - we came in Sept). Upstairs bed did creak quite a bit, we did get used to it, but it caused both annoyance and laughter the first night.

First Time in Corolla~Shore Thing Rental

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Thoughts on our week at Corolla....* Location is everything! This house is close to the beach (2 minute walk) and close to shopping (Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Philly Cheesesteaks, Lighthouse Bagels) * Kitchen set up is outstanding! Everything you’d want/need and tons of place settings!* Pool area is great! Lots of beach chairs, pool toys, etc. * Layout of the house is nice. Very open and great beach decor. * Jacuzzi was just ok - only warms to 99° which is lukewarm at best. We called and reported it but it wasn’t fixed during our stay. * Linen package - didn’t include sheets for all the possible beds in the home. None of the pillows had pillowcases. * I had a few reportable issues. I called the Mgmt Company and the Owner had me troubleshoot the issues instead of sending someone out to fix the problem. As such, we went over 1/2 the week without a dishwasher. Overall is was a great week. We would definitely rent this home again if we stayed in Corolla. The Owner put a lot of effort into making sure the house is comfortable and well stocked. The Mgmt Company was very responsive and helpful and most important - early check in on Sunday was outstanding! We were in our home by 1230!

Many many beach chairs and lots of beach and pool toys! I might only suggest an upgrade on the wooden outdoor furniture and the TV/VCR wasn't set up correctly in the bunk bed room so it never worked. All in all though, it was definitely a house we would consider renting again as it was the perfect size and distance for us and had all that we needed for a fun vacation!

needs improvements

Reviewer Comments: was at shore thing a few years ago. booked it because only house available for week we wanted. kitchen is small and dated, had to fix upstairs toilet, a/c was nice on top floor but warm on first floor. TV on top floor worked when it felt like. upper bedroom nice but too cold and couldn't get T V to work, cleaning staff need to do better cleaning!!! we cleaned after arriving!!

Great location

Great location, easy access to beach, great use of space, close to shopping but not right in the middle of heavy traffic. Pool and hot tub offer a great alternative when you want to skip the sandy beach. Plenty of beach toys on site for kids and adults alike. Check the closets for hidden supplies like child gates, board games, pack and play and more!

Shore Thing family vacation

Sparkling pool water and the bubbling hot tub were everyone's favorites. Walks to the beach on the boardwalk and steps seemed a bit longer than 2 minutes but the beach was clean & beautiful. I assumed there would be garbage bags there, as well as dishwasher detergent but needed to purchase those . I always check out the Seating at the table for a large family group and there were ample chairs. However we could have used more seating in the family room area as the two couches and one chair only accommodated 6 at most. Sleeps 10 comfortably. Appreciated that the bathrooms had grab bars for safety, maybe a hand rail into the pool too? Thanks so much for providing a great space for us to share some time together.

We do send out a What to Pack list, and video in our Prior to Arrival emails and have confirmed that garage bags and detergent are indeed on the list, (and in the video). The video was added after your stay, so hopefully this will help get this information to future guests (we know there's a lot to think about when getting ready for vacation!)

The kitchen had splattered food on the walls dirty dishes in cupboard, the refrigerator door was broken off . In the dining room crumbs in chairs old pastry in high chair dog poop in several places on the rug , all ceiling fans were thick with dust so much for COVID 19 sterilization . Every one who stayed had splinter s from delapitated decks

We apologize that the previous tenants did not roll the trash out in time for pick up, the guests are responsible for rolling the garbage out for collection on their respective days which is Wednesdays and Saturdays.The fridge door handle had been ordered to be repaired but there have been shipping delays - we are working to have this resolved. The cleaning concerns you have listed in this review were not brought to our attention until this posted, the only concern reported to us was for pet stains and they were cleaned. We do our best to correct guest concerns as we are made aware of them. The owner is planning on having the decks worked on in the off-season.

Our only complaint was that the tv's were so old we couldn't hook up any of our devices. The main TV had hdmi input, but had problems with the ports and devices wouldn't connect.

UN-Shore Thing :(

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location to the beach, a 5 minute walk to the dunes was just perfect, as well the beautiful pool and hot tub, we all enjoyed! 😎 However, the building itself looked, aside from the new flooring was very dated, in dire need of repair, if not in total disrepair! Starting with the horrible deck, with rusty nails, sticking up, loose boards and broken outdoor furniture! Inside, worn d/r rug, as well as the sofa...broken drawer, in the 45 year OLD kitchen with horrible, so called, lighting🙈 Bedrm doorknob broken as well as a bathroom fixture, being pulled out from the wall...pictures will be enclosed or will follow! Our family has rented thru you, over the years and this is the first time that we have been disappointed in one of your units, to say the least!

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. We're happy to report that this property is under new ownership! The owners have plans to update the decking/railing with trex decking, replace the dishwasher and stove, improve landscaping, and replace deck furniture. We hope you'll reconsider returning to Shore Thing.

nice location

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: house needed some fixing. outdoor stairs had some splinters and nails popping out, ants in some bathrooms, dusty under beds. refrigerator was smaller 6 people. otherwise we had a good time. house just needs some TLC

Thank you for providing feedback - this property is under new ownership! The new owners have been working to upgrade/update the property. New trex decking, new landscaping, new deck furniture - to name a few. We hope you'll consider returning to Shore Thing on your next OBX vacation.
