We had a wonderful and relaxing week in Steuben. As with previous trips to Maine, our kayaking and hiking experiences in the area were amazing - lots of great wildlife sightings! The house was very comfortable - overall a great vacation experience!

This is an absolute gem of a stay! The house is clean, comfortable and beautifully designed. The location right on Dyers Bay is incredible…gorgeous sunrises, so peaceful and great for exploring with kids. Bar Harbor and Acadia are about an hour away, Schoodic Point about half an hour. So much to do and see nearby. The owner is friendly and helpful and check in/out was easy. We hope to return someday!

My family had a wonderful experience at this house. Spectacular views with a quaint house and you’re in heaven. Host came by to visit and see if we needed anything. Very nice; salt of the earth. The kitchen was modern and gorgeous, but be prepared to bring a few essentials and wash your own dishes. Bathrooms were fantastic. Most importantly, we could bring our four legged canine with us here. There is a lot of room for them to run and stretch. Be aware… don’t let them get into the marshy area. Washer machine and dryer were top of the line. There was a gas grill there. “Ray’s Meats”, located just up the road is fantastic. Thanks Jon. Put up another house so I can bring more family to that spot. Downeast Maine is one of the most beautiful places in the planet. Period

We loved this home! It was so peaceful and such a wonderful escape. The long lawn down to the waterfront was perfect for our kids and dog to play and explore. We will definitely be back again!

Peace and Tranquility

Great location and property. Close to Acadia, but away from the traffic. An idillic New England location. Owner was very attentive to our needs. Would highly recommend.

The sunrises from the back porch were great. That it is a part of a working boatyard and the fleet in the bay added interest and authenticity. The location is rural, quiet but close to towns, parks, nature preserves and Acadia. The cabin was neat and clean, furniture was comfortable. The tableware and kitchen utensils were a little on the sparse side, but we really enjoyed our stay here.

Wonderful home with all the amenities of home. Roku TVs worked great and the Host was super helpful and responsive to a couple of questions and requests that we sprung on him. Great outdoor space for the kids to run and play.

Peaceful Stay on Dyers Bay

This place is awesome. Super quiet, very peaceful and relaxing. We loved the location- we could swim, explore the shore, bike down the peninsula. We loved Roque Bluff Beach, and of coarse visiting Acadia. We’re already planning to come back.

It’s a great place! The property and views are amazing. The house is nice and clean and the provided items are of good quality. My only negative is that the bathrooms need door locks!!!

Peaceful Stay!

This adorable house was perfect for our family of 4. Tucked away in a quiet location it provided the peaceful getaway we were hoping for. Close enough to some great places to eat (highly recommend checking out Chipman's Wharf), there was some great hiking nearby at the nature preserve, and great shops nearby that we enjoyed poking around in. It was about 45min - 1 hour to get to Acadia National Park. However, after a busy day of seeing people at the park and all over Bar Harbor, it was nice to come back to a quiet property. Highly recommend!

So relaxing!

This home was just what we needed. Quiet, away from it all yet convenient enough to hikes and the schoodic peninsula. Internet worked well, which was important for work calls and remote classes for the kids. Watching the lobster boats come and go, as well as the tide, was very soothing and the kids really enjoyed exploring the shoreline.

Beautiful house and view

The house is new and clean and super cute. The views are amazing. We had deer right at our window every evening and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The area is very quiet. note that it is a bit of a drive to get to the National Park! It takes about 1 hour to Bar Harbour, 40 min to Schoonic Peninsula. But it is well worth driving to get away from the crowds after hiking in the park.

Beautiful, clean home with gorgeous classic Maine views. We had a great time here! Lots of space for kiddo to play and we enjoyed watching the lobster boats in the bay. Heat pumps are a nice feature as well to keep the house comfortable. Kitchen had the basics - nice pans and utensils, but if you’re someone who likes to bake, there were no measuring cups or spoons. We would love to come back!

excellent stay along the water in maine!

our family loved this house, which made this vacation a favorite. it’s set farther away from the tourist spots, but on the water, close to schoodic portion of acadia np and space for our family and dog to enjoy the outdoors and fish. there’s also a nearby lake (jones pond) that the kids loved swimming. beautiful kitchen and grill for home meals. and my wife was able to do some remot work and telecons with no issues. owner was kind and responsive, - thank you!

Family Acadia National Trip

We loved our stay at this home, particularly for its peaceful location away from the hustle of Bar Harbor. The house itself is charming and well-maintained, and the quiet surroundings made for a relaxing getaway. However, there are a few things we wish we had known before arrival to make our stay more comfortable. The upstairs area does not have a cooling unit or fan, which could be an issue during warmer months. Additionally, it would have been helpful to know in advance that coffee pods were needed rather than loose coffee, as well as other essentials like shampoo and toilet paper. We’ve stayed in many rentals over the years, and it’s been our experience that hosts typically provide a clear list of what’s included. The kitchen is beautiful and has a selection of cooking supplies, but it’s worth noting that it lacks a standard-sized baking pan, only having a broiler pan that’s significantly smaller. This might be something to consider if you plan on doing much baking during your stay. Overall, the home is lovely and offers a great escape from the busy areas, but a few additional details in the pre-arrival information and some kitchen supplies could enhance the experience.
