As cattle graze and their young play in the distance we are transported into the wonder of the High desert and its pristine wilderness backdrop. Early morning sunrises from the East, and the magical twilight evenings from the West take you on a unique journey that only something greater could have imagined. It is here. And it is here for us to enjoy.

Very lovely place. Very clean and a great way to relax and enjoy all the outdoor activities. Stunning views every morning. Having dinner at the house and watching the sunset on the Sierras was a treat. Would visit again.

Beautiful Getaway

The views facing the mountains make the the house feel totally remote. The house was cozy and welcoming on a cold winter night. A great place to relax in nature.

Amazing oasis surrounded by Nature

We had the most amazing stay. Lydia was a great host, check in and check out process super easy. She gave us plenty of local recommendations. The place was stunning, perfect for a couple. Views of Mt Whitney at your door step and super quiet area. The outdoor bathtub to soak in and enjoy the sunset was one of our favourite parts. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.

Amazing scenic property

This property was amazing in so many ways. First off, the location is amazing, you have clear open field views in all directions with an incredible backdrop of Mount Whitney and the Sierras.The structures and lodging spaces are so unique to the last detail. The interior design work was beautiful, clean, and artistic. Highly recommended. If you want to get away to reset and completely surround yourself in peace and natural beauty, this is the place.

This property was beyond our expectations. It is located in the otherworldly Alabama Hills nestled between the eastern Sierra Nevadas and the Inyo mountains. There are amazing opportunities for hiking including the stunning Mt. Whitney trail. We even took a day trip to Death Valley. The property abuts a cattle ranch and has views of the mountains from every direction. Lydia could not have been a more attentive host and the amenities were expertly curated. We are already planning our next stay. Thank you for four days in paradise.

DO IT! Don’t think twice BOOK IT!

The experience from start to finish was a dream getaway. Lydia was an excellent host with attention to detail. You feel right at home when you walk into this Beautiful oasis. Breathtaking views and the comfort of a home away from home. My dog Calvin joined for the trip and he too was right at home. I will return and spread the word to all my friends.

My Whitney base camp.

Lone East is a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. It’s unique layout with separate bedroom and living area make for plenty of quiet spots for reflection. The views are breathtaking and the cows in the pasture next door are fun to watch. We stayed here needing a base camp for our Mt Whitney summit and it is perfect for that. Very close to the portal. A weekend stay here alone or with a loved one would be a great place to reconnect with your spirit. Lydia was very nice and took care of any needs that came up during our stay.

Amazing Anniversary Weekend

This was our first time staying at a retreat like this and Lydia blew us away with her unique property, her incredible kindness, and her attention to detail. She even had bowls and blankets for our dog. The views were amazing and we loved sitting outside at night listening to the cows, crickets, and frogs and in the morning watching the sunrise. The property was remote enough that we felt like we were in our own oasis. It was an amazing weekend and we highly recommend Lone East and Lydia.

Another World Here...

Another world here at the foot of the magestic Sierra Nevada range. Lydia has created her private enclave rich in artistic design, quality, and thoughtful amenities. The rentals are of striking modern design, private enough, and face towering Mt. Whitney, as does the firepit and outdoor bath. At dark the buddha on the deck lights up and so did we, spiritually speaking. Class, quietude, and we won't forget the superb sculptural managerie placed everywere imaginable. Bravo, Lydia, your property sings and is exceptionally unique.

This is an incredible, one-of-a-kind property. The host has an outstanding eye for design, and has created a gorgeous, serene, totally private and relaxing space on a larger ranch with so many cool details. Highlights were the unique layout and footprint of the space with a totally private bedroom and bathroom separated by a breezeway from the living room and kitchen and a powder room. Huge outdoor patio and deck area, with a magical outdoor bathtub that I loved soaking in at night under the stars. Super High-End finishes, gorgeous art, incredibly comfortable bed, luxurious shower, and well stocked kitchen. It's a great location for exploring the area... I spent the first day in Death Valley, the second day hiking in the Eastern Sierra, and the last day checking out the Alabama Hills which is right down the street. The host is very communicative and warm. Don't hesitate- this is an incredible place to stay!

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

When my eyes came upon this land and its roaming cattle herd, I fell in love with its rawness and its Savannah -esque landscape. It was as if I'd been placed in an African Safari with the backdrop of the epic Eastern Sierras and expansive Inyo mountains. The Lone Hunter Ranch is named after the town of Lonepine and the road that it lives but to me it also represents the "lonehunter" in us that travels in search of adventure, purpose and simplicity. It is the hunter of life. I am forever grateful to call this property my home. Forever grateful that I am able to share The Lone East with you.
