Located in the middle of old downtown, walking distance to everything (groceries store, sporting goods store, several restaurants, bar, a nice park, with a running stream. You can view mount Whitney (the tallest peak in the lower 48 United States) from the front porch.
We stayed here the night before and after our day hike to Whitney. Bed was comfortable. Space heater was doing its best in the 100 degree weather. The owner and/or manager of the property was very nice.
Stayed over a holiday weekend and this place was almost half the cost of the hotels. As others reviewed this place is very clean and has everything youâd need including a full size washer and dryer. There is a futon in the living room with a TV. The fridge is smaller than pictured and they put storage for pans below. There are portable induction stove tops (loved those). No microwave, but there is a toaster oven. Others have mentioned no hot tub, which is true. Think they meant bath tub, not hot tub. Itâs a bath tub/shower combination. The weather was really hot during our stay and the air conditioning worked great. It is an old quirky house, but well maintained. A five star stay for Mainstreet Lone Pine and small dog friendly on top of that! We have stayed at various Lone Pine hotels for day hiking and would definitely prefer to stay here instead.
I loved our stay. The house is small but cozy and has everything you need in it. I guess the only thing I would prefer is to have the front porch more closed off, so that I can let my dog out. But otherwise, it was great and I would definitely stay here again.
The kitchen is simple but well-equipped, great for cooking family meals away from home. Walking distance to cafes and restaurants, and an easy drive to beautiful back country.
Great location, kitchen fully stocked with every utensil, kitchen gadget, and accessory imaginable; refrigerator smaller than advertised. Bathroom has every amenity one may need; hair dryer, nice towels, great shower, shower gel, etc. Great old bedroom; living room furniture rather sparse, could use a table lamp and cozy reading chair. Other than that issue, very enjoyable stay.
Super cute older home. Host has it well stocked with everything you would need. Location is perfect for exploring Lone Pine area. We would definitely stay again.
Such a beautiful place in a beautiful location. We hiked Mount Whitney and it definitely made our stay nice and comfortable. Joseph was very accommodating!!
Very nice stuff. You can wash it close here. Air conditioning and bedroom was nice and the 12 cooler was good. T v was a little confusing, but everything was great
Unit was double booked. Was unable to stay there. I reported fraud to my bank. I had to stay at a motel. I wont use VRBO or Expedia to book again because their service was so poor.
A solid stay for folks looking to visit Mt. Whitney. You are walking distance from all the restaurants and market so you never have to hop in the car unless you are venturing up to Mt. Whitney. The bathroom is spacious and having a washer/dryer is a major plus so you can pack light. The AC is solid, which is great for those triple digit days in Lone Pine.
The owner is easily reachable and friendly. All in all it was a great trip.
This is a cute 100 year old house near downtown. It is in walking distance of restaurants, shops, and more. The owner is very helpful and responsive. The house is cute and sturdy. The neighbors are nice and the post office is across the street. It is a very quiet neighborhood.
Little vintage clapboard (duplex? It's got a shared wall with at least one person and a dog in the rear) right off 395 in Lone Pine. Good location for exploring the area. Comfy separate bedroom with full size bed. A "third" person would sleep on the fold down couch in the main room. No stove, so it's sort of a "hot plate kitchen" with a decent small refrigerator/freezer and sink at back of the main room. Clean and well stocked with "kitchen" stuff, and a dining table. Lots of clean towels in the bathroom. Plenty of hot water. Heating is portable electric space heaters so warmth could be a challenge in Winter. But otherwise way more fun than a motel.
Really wasnât expecting much, this property does NOT have a hot tub! Windows do not open and was very stuffy and hot! It was clean, shower and bathroom were fine, utilized the washer/dryerâŠ
We had a great stay. Everything was fine. Nice kitchen except that a microwave would be helpful. And the amenities listed included a hot tub which does not exist.
The bedroom heater was fine but the rest of the house was not. We were told there were 3 hesters but not to be found. House was adorable but left early due to cold.
This is a very cute old house in Lone Pine an old town at a fair price, you can walk to everything
Its not the Bellagio in Vegas.
I will stay there again
This property is located in bad neighborhood.
There is a problem with electricity.
Itâs impossible to heat the house
Itâs very expensive for an so uncomfortable house
The property was in terrible condition. The swamp cooler was infested with BLACK MOLD. WE TURNED ON THE COOLER AND WERE IMMEDIATELY ABLE TO SMELL THE MOLD. An inspection revealed a lot of mold in the cooler. We immediately packed and left,. were there less than an hour.
The place has a number of walking hazards. In my opinion this place is not suitable for habitation in its current state. We received a refund quickly from the owner but with considerable time and effort for the VRBO charge.. This was my first experience with VRBo and it will be my last.
