It was clean looking till I started to cook and dropped something under the stove and cabinets was nasty needed to be swept and moped. The small room door did not latch to shut it. There is no lighting to get to the hot tub. The hot tub is not big enough for four full side adults.
The property is beautiful and quiet. The interior of the house was very clean, warm, and comfortable. The kitchen has modern stainless steel appliances, ample space, and stocked with everything a guest would need (sans food, of course), the sofa, chairs, beds were comfortable. There's plenty of closet space and both bathrooms were nice sizes and fully stocked. The only thing that was kind of disappointing was the fact that the lake was low so there was no water under the wooden walkway and sitting area in the woods, but that's beyond the owner's control, ha ha. The property is also very close to lake, stores to purchase food and other supplies, the Caddo Lake State Park, companies offering lake tours and kayak/canoe rentals so that makes up for it. Johnson's Marina was recommended to us and the tour was wonderful with a very knowledgeable tour guide so we got to see plenty of lake. We did have to communicate with the owners regarding a small matter, which turned out to be nothing in the end, and they were incredibly responsive and helpful. Very nice people! I would highly recommend this property to others.
Water level was high, so we had to drive through a little water to get there.(We were contacted beforehand and warned) great cabin and host will definitely be back!
Pathway extending into lake was the best feature. 1. Dishes and glassware were dirty with food still stuck on them. 2 Water coming out from faucets would be clear for a few minutes then brown. Had to run into town for drinking water. 3. Received splinter from floor. And there were soft spots where boards would pinch your feet when walking. 4. Hot tub has brown scum along water line could have been from the water alone but was definitely unappealing. 5. Fireplace was not useable
Our stay was flawless! Communication and location wonderful.
Only concern from us to others the listing as waterfront is a bit misleading.
Everything was in good condition!
There were some spiders in a corner of the dining areađł
We had a nice stay, the woodland dock is the highlight of the property! The accommodations are comfortable and clean. The mattress was very comfortable and the AC worked perfectly.
The only negative is the property is listed as Waterfront, but there was no water in sight. Reasonably, there is nothing that can be done except manage expectations of a waterfront property; in the listing it is mentioned that at certain times of the year, access to the dock is muddy, however, a better description would include that water levels are so low that there was no water to be seen, and for sure no fishing or kayaking from the property. Which, unfortunately for us, was the main goal of our trip.
