Beautifully decorated ADU with a fantastic balcony and view of the ocean on West Cliff Drive. Perfect place for a couple and one or two kids or adults who are willing to sleep on a couch or air mattress. The main sleeping/living area and balcony are on the 2nd floor and the kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, and entrance to the unit on are on the first floor. The kitchen seats only two people so the dining space in the beautiful courtyard comes in handy and is an enjoyable place to have a meal. If stairs or small spaces are an issue for you, you probably want to book the cottage instead of the ADU. Most of the pictures on the vrbo site are of the main house. Besides being in a beautiful area, this ADU is conveniently located near many restaurants, U.C. Santa Cruz, the downtown area, and Natural Bridges State Beach. Deb is a warm and welcoming host and her dog, Ruby, is a bonus.
This darling cabin is in the best location on the Cliff Walk. The views are amazing, the backyard is an oasis and the owner could not have been more accommodating. Can't wait to go back!
We had a great time at Deb's cabin. The location was really great and the cabin was cute and clean with lots of character. We also loved the backyard and made use of the gas grill. Succulents and wildflowers were a very nice touch.
This is our second stay and still well worth it. Comfortable furnishings, unique location, beautiful artistic touches throughout, steps from the West Cliff walkway along the ocean, easy walking to Natural Bridges beach. All amenities provided. A great place to stay!
Perfect location, gorgeous views, comfortable and cozy cabin. We absolutely love this house and garden! Such a warm atmosphere, itâs like staying at a friendâs house for the weekend. Thank you, Deb!
The cabin is very cute and cozy - furnishings, plants, yard and flowers are very comfortable and homey. Location is superb - across street from ocean with great view of ocean. Walking/biking paths for miles with plenty of benches and little beaches along the way. Quiet neighborhood - though constant traffic going by. Our little dog did very well - we were told the yards weren't completely fenced ahead of time. Lots of good eating places close by.
Only negatives were we were not made aware of a second home that was occupied on the same lot - just feet from the home that share the backyard (Occupants came and went - unsure who they were). Blowup mattress wasn't here when we arrived, but Deb was in the other house and quickly got it for us.
Overall experience very positive.
We loved our time at this cabin. Such a great spot from which to explore Santa Cruz. Deb provided bikes and the house is right across the street from a waterfront path that goes all the way in to town. Great fire pit in the front was ideal for people watching. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to host a family dinner. We would definitely stay here again!
Extreemly Clean And Well Furnished, Beautiful And Interesting Cabin
As all the other reviews state, it is a very cute cabin. Although the pictures are great, and accurate, it would be better if there were more! Even the doors, and close-ups of the hardwood floor, in fact....even photos the wood CEILING would be great. For now, you will just have to trust me that you will not be dissapointed in this cabin. As far as the host: Deb. She couldn't be better. I wasn't aware until the second day, that I found that the flower arrangments in the bathroom and dining room table were real flowers! Fresh, artistically arranged much nicer than any florist would do. Apparently cut from the property. The one on the table was next to a welcoming bottle of wine! There were towels provided not only for the inside of the house, but there were ones outside adjacent to the exterior shower, as well. There is a doggie door fit for a small dog of about 24 lbs or less. Even dog water and food bowls are provided. An outside-dog bed is provided. (Not one hair of a previous dog visitor could be found inside the cabin........ie... the place is clean.) Matches for the fire pit, even an emergency flashlight, are provided, if needed. There was enough wood to have a fire in either of the two fire pits: One in the backyard, and one in the front yard.
Chairs to sit on both in the backyard and in the front yard. There were two bicycles to use.
One thing that I've experienced so many times in OTHER vacation rentals.... is that the pots and pans, and cooking utensils ...quantiy and selections are extreemly limited. Not at this cabin: You truly DO have anything you need here! Next time, I won't bring anything at all except for clothes and food, if I plan on cooking, and a beach towel. That will make packing so much easier, and make the overall trip more enjoyable due to less packing/unpacking.
Sleeping logistics: This is a one bedroom, one bath cabin with a separate main area that includes living, eating, cooking, and sleeping. The bathroom is located in the middle of a short hallway. It is situated such that, a person from either couple could get up and go to the bathroom without viewing the other couple. So there is privacy to use the bathroom, even though there is not a master bathroom.
Try it... you'll like it!
This was a perfect cabin for relaxing and enjoying the beach and west side amenities! Our dog enjoyed walking with us to the breweries and wine tasting. Great for morning walks along the beach too!
The cabin was great. Views from the living room of the ocean were fabulous!
The backyard BBQ worked great for our family gathering to celebrate my son's graduation from UC Santa Cruz.
We loved all the decorations and art work. I especially liked all the succulents tucked around the garden and house
The outdoor shower was great for showering off after trips to the beach.
The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful spot with us for Eric's graduation. A fun time was made more memorable by having such a wonderful place to gather.

This place was really great. Clean and welcoming and the owner is apparently a potter so the collection of unique handmade plates and tableware available was super cool. This cabin was across a small street from the beach which made for a perfect Memorial Day weekend. The owner offered us two extra nights at half price but unfortunately our schedules wouldn't allow us to take advantage of the generous opportunity. Would definitely stay here again. The walkable Kelly French Bakery was a highlight, and Santa Cruz on Memorial Day cannot be beat. Surf competitions, volleyball competitions - it was an awesome place to be.There were bikes in the garage and a longboard for guests to use and the flower garden surrounding the cabin is gorgeous. A++
We spent two nights here. It's a great location- we spent a lot of time walking along the beach, and the views are beautiful! The house is in good condition, and very cute.
Cozy, artsy cabin on the ocean bluffs, one of a kind!
Deb's cabin was ideal for us. The location 1/2 way between Steamers Lane/the lighthouse and Natural Bridges Park/beach meant a beautiful walk or bike ride along ocean cliffs to awesome destinations. A little further and you're at the boardwalk and downtown Santa Cruz..We had everything we needed at the cabin and then some and Deb was very accommodating. This is a unique, awesome rental!!
Deb is very accommodating, friendly and her home is clean and appointed very well. The walking path of West Cliff is gorgeous. Beach nearby is safer for teens to go rather than little kids. Tide when in takes the beach away and kids need to be careful crossing the road. Easy for our boys ages 11 and 13. Great grocery store up the street! Perfect place for 2 adults and 2 kids on the blow up mattress.
This cabin great! Much more than the pictures show. We arrived and immediately felt relaxed, while simultaneously excited by our new home for the weekend! Deb was very easy to work with and was available for anything we needed. There were fresh flowers in the cabin, clean linens, a lovely bottle of wine, a well stocked kitchen, plenty of places to just sit and take in the views and smells of the ocean. We are already looking at the calendar hoping to find another time to come back.
Lovely cabin, fantastic location. Biked from the cabin around town and then up to Wilder State Park and Natural Bridges. Perfect spot for our sisters' reunion. The owner was responsive, helpful, and flexible. All good!
We are a family of 3, two adults and a five year old. The place was perfect for us. We were able to park our car in the the driveway and start an adventure. The cabin is darling and was filled with entertaining games, bikes, a kaiak and wet suits etc. The location is the best. We saw a Whale from the dining-room window! We plan to visit again.
This was a fantastic place to stay, really was perfect for our family to stay as we enjoyed early morning and evening walks along the beach front bike path right across the street. Great kitchen, wonderful all around excellent backyard - I want to go back! highly recommended!!!! owner was very helpful and responsive and this is really a wonderful cabin style home - honestly, I would love to return!!!
