Reality doesn’t match description

Unit needs total renovation. A/C not properly working/ cold air blowing on heads when sleeping, very loud fan, kitchen not equipped as should, no cleaning products supplied. Prohibited flushing/throwing toilet paper! Humidity at highest level, towels always WET.Some mild in the toilet part of washroom. Very unsatisfying condition.

2 towels for 2 people for 5 days

We have stayed at 2 different units within the Aldea Thai and received excellent service. This unit faces the street which is very noisy all night. We requested 2 extra towels which were never delivered. Several light bulbs were burned out. Very minimal kitchen supplies. The Deep Rock water (5 gallons) was only 1/4 full and we ran out of water on Day 4. The freezer was frozen over with ice buildup and wasn't usable. Discounts at Mamita's Beach Club were listed online but there were no discounts available. I do not recommend this rental, but the hotel and the location are wonderful!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location and hotel but the room itself was not in great shape. Broken counter, toaster looked like it was punched. Microwave looked like it was going to detach and fall off the wall. Small mirror in bathroom rusted and light didn’t work. On our last day the power went out in our room.Having said that, the property was very nice. Main pool was great. Location was perfect. Our contact person Mateo was fantastic. Very responsive. Helped in any was possible as quickly as possible. The only downfall of the stay was the room needed some serious upgrading.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Aldea Thai is a beautiful location that operates like an Airbnb, which you will not know by the way they advertise it. So don’t expect your room cleaned unless you pay $40 extra each time. Also, the reception desk only checks you in. If you have a question, they refer you to your concierge which you have to text and can take 2-3 days to get back to you. Nice location, beautiful place, but complete lack of service for what you pay.

We did not get additional soaps during our stay but the room was cleaned twice during our week which was more important. The only real complaint was that the "Moments" concierge service hooked us up with a tour company that did a poor job with the Mayan tours. The tour guides at the sights were poorly trained and did not speak very good English.

Awesome place and location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very nice, clean place. Has all the necessities. Right in the heart of downtown area with restaurants and clubs and the best beach. One suggestion:Add coffee filters, salt and oil to the kitchenette. Also one cab driver that was hailed by the condo personnel took advantage of us by charging the double of what it should have been. Make sure you notify them about such unpleasant possibilities to prevent this in the future.

The maid service was very good as well. We left our safe wide open one day, returned to find all of our electronics, money and jewelry untouched.The room itself is in needed of some asthetic maintenance. The bathroom mirror has scratches all over it, the faucet sprays everywhere. As well, the kitchen cupboards have an odour so we had to wash all dishes before using them.The pool was too loud so we never spent any time there.

Our next door neighbors were a bunch of inconsiderate college springbreakers who partied on until 4-5 am every night. We will definitely stay here again but will avoid the springbreak crowd next time.The unit was clean, roomy and at the perfect location. We love the pool on the second floor and Kool Beach Club down my Mamitas Beach.

Also for the price I paid I was expecting the place to be a little better stocked. There were no Paper towels or kitchen essentials like coffee filters and salt & pepper. I would recomend this unit for a single person or a couple such as a newlyweds.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was everything we wanted it to be. The room included a stove, so we were able to get groceries and save money on food. Just a couple blocks from the beach - great location! The pool was beautiful as well. It's definitely one of those places that look really nice in pictures/is lacking a little on the upkeep, but for the price I thought it was totally reasonable. You'll definitely want to read the fine print, which states that you are subject to a fine if you lose one of your plastic room card-keys or if you remove your bracelet!
