When we arrived the house was spotless! It is exactly how it looks in the pictures. The check-in/check-out process was very easy with clear instructions. The best part of this property is the pool and location! It’s a quiet neighborhood with a short walk to the beach. We absolutely plan on going back!

Great location, beautiful house

We very much enjoyed our stay. The location was excellent (just across the street from the beach) and the house was beautiful. We especially enjoyed the private pool.

House was accurately described in listing and pool was clean and perfect for our kids. Location was good as it was just right across the street from the beach. Only complaints are we could not figure out how to lock the door with the key provided, it would have been nice to have more towels provided in the bathrooms, trash bags and paper towels, and the seating is limited in the living room on the main floor. A bigger couch would have been nice. Overall, a nice place to stay and we would definately consider staying there again.

We were extremely disappointed with the pool during our three-day stay. It was full of bird droppings upon arrival, and despite sending photos and contacting management, no one followed up or cleaned it during our entire stay. We understand the property is near the beach and birds are inevitable, but the pool was just disgusting. There were also barely any cleaning supplies available for us to address it ourselves. - which would have been fine especially since the birds seem to do this overnight in increments.We specifically chose this property—and paid extra—because we wanted a clean private pool. Unfortunately, it did not meet that expectation at all. The inside of the home was nice, but if you’re booking this primarily for the pool, be prepared for a very different experience than advertised.

Love the House

Problems with refrigeration, unable to lock the doors , and couldn’t get a response fr no one. Overall hse get great, would definitely rent again if problems were fixed

Surprise

House was clean, however had strong smell of mold coming from closet by stairwell. The upstairs bathroom was leaking into closet which had a bucket and towels placed in it to catch water. Water was in the floor and had puddled outside the closet into the stairwell area. It had been leaking a while due to existing damage to closet door and closet contents. The pool was dirty and we were unable to swim in it for the first 3 days. Upon calling the property manager April she was quick to act. She had a pool cleaner come out and service pool as well as a handyman to address leaking top floor bathroom toilet. However we had to deal with smell of moldy area the entire time and could not access pool until after the 3rd day due to it being shocked the second day. She did say she would credit us for 2 days which I did not feel was enough for what we had paid versus what we walked into. Owner of this property has a lot to address.

Tons of potential, fell short

The great: The location - I was really hesitant on the location being too far from the actual beach, but the beach access is really good by car, was quiet (shocking for a July 4th trip!). The pool - Elevated. Fun! — The good: The house - better layout and configuration than expected. The kitchen / dinner / living space is a bit cramped. Balconies awesome, uncomfortable seating. Theme inside: cheap. — The bad: The fridge - was seemingly functional, but clearly was not getting cold enough. Unsafe for food storage. Coldest it ever got was 55 degrees. No help arrived during our trip and no offer to reimburse us for our ice expenses. — The ugly: The listing - shows the elevator in the pictures, but it is NOT available for use. Be prepared to lift all your stuff up a long flight of stairs. I’ve never had the elevator not allowed before in Galveston rentals. Hot tub either doesn’t work or no instructions provided. Sewage smell from septic, possibly full? Again nothing done during our stay. House only provided a pitiful amount of toilet paper / paper towels etc. No dish soap. Never have been provided so little in a rental before. Grills are absolute joke, barely holding to together / sized for ants. All in all, we really enjoyed our time, but the choices made by owner / management are concerning. This place could be a knockout stay if minor cheap fixes were implemented. Hopefully these issues get addressed, but being aware when booking is half the battle!
