Weekend getaway

We enjoyed our stay. The sunrises were beautiful. The hot tub was great for relaxing in the evening and it was chilly enough the first night for a fire in the fireplace.

Great cabin, not thoroughly cleaned

The cabin itself was very nice. It could have been cleaner. The hot tub had a red film all over the seats and the water was cloudy. It was not cleaned prior to our stay. There were an excessive amount of dead bugs around the windows and slider. One of the towels provided had a huge brown stain and there was hair in the shower that was not removed. This impacted my stay because I was not able to enjoy all the amenities I paid for. I have taken photos of every item mentioned above if someone needs proof and wants to follow up.

What a stunning property

Cozy. Warm. Beautifully decorated. Breathtaking view off the balcony and from the windows. Comfortable beds. Good water temps and pressure in the showers. All the cooking tools you'll need. Hard to think how to make it any better.

Almost perfect...

Was a near perfect stay, except the kitchen sink started leaking on 2nd day and the coffee machine was missing coffee pot and didn't work. The Keurig side works but there was only 1 coffee. Lastly, the grill was charcoal and there was not enough charcoal to grill.

Perfect Getaway!

From the moment we arrived, we were absolutely stunned by the breathtaking views—they are even better in person than in the photos. We spent hours just sitting on the porch, enjoying the views. It truly made our trip unforgettable. Beyond the scenery, the cabin itself was a delight. It was clear that the owners put a lot of thought into the guest experience. The place was incredibly well-stocked, from the kitchen (which had everything we needed for cooking full meals!) to extra blankets, firewood, board games, etc. The comfort level was top-notch. The beds were comfortable and the cabin felt clean, cozy, and private. The fireplace was wonderful, and the hot tub was a perfect way to relax. Communication with Lydia Mountain rental management was excellent, and they made the check-in and check-out process seamless. If you are looking for a relaxing, high-quality stay with views that will take your breath away, look no further. We highly recommend Mountainside Retreat, and can't wait to return!

We referred you website to two friends of ours that loved the pictures we sent. The only issue we really had was trying to get in and out of the location just because the roads were very tight but other than that really nothing to complain about.

Loved our stay

I enjoyed the hot tub in the evening after being on my feet all day at the wedding! it was a very well equipped, cabin, blankets, pillows, etc. lots of cookware may be a little too many pots and pans, as there was no place at all to put food in the cabinet had to put it all on the countertop or leave it in the bags. The beds were comfortable! I think the view was the most wonderful thing of all!

Amazing

We loved our weekend getaway. This cabin was beautiful and in a beautiful location. The sunrise was to the right off the back porch and a few trees blocked the view some but it was still gorgeous. The beds were medium firmness which was nice, not to soft or hard. We left behind a few items for the next vacationers to use for the grill and kitchen. The fall colors were beautiful. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again. Thanks for sharing with us.

Beautiful and definitely a retreat.

in August we spent two nights at Mountainside Retreat and it was really terrific. the view from the deck was lovely. the atmosphere of the home was cozy but elegant. and it was all very spacious. one charming touch was a hummingbird feeder on the deck which attracted a constant steam of hummingbirds. Unfortunately, we stayed on a Monday and Tuesday night, which means we were not able to dine at the main lodge restaurant that is closed on those days. that was a disappointment. one other thing you need to know is that this is a rustic retreat. the roads from Rt 33 to the house were of rough gravel and extremely narrow, and the driveway down to the house was very steep. the first time we wanted to get out, it took several tries. that being said, the whole experience still was special and the access to the house just added a sense of adventure.

Could not have asked for more!!!

What a wonderful surprise to arrive at Mountainside Retreat! This fairly new home is beautiful and so well-maintained! The views from the deck are so inviting, it’s really hard to leave the rocking chairs. The kitchen was so well equipped, meal preparation was a joy!! Even the charcoal grill on the deck was a real plus. Both bedrooms were very comfortable with ample blankets and linens. The two full baths were spacious. In the loft area is a very inviting sitting area for enjoying a great book. The family room had a very inviting wood burning fireplace with ample firewood just outside the front door. We could not imagine a more relaxing home for a quiet getaway.

A nice weekend getaway!

We had a wonderful weekend away in the mountainside retreat. The only big issue we encountered was that the bathrooms had not been fully cleaned upon our arrival and we did not have enough towels. We called and they sent someone out immediately to clean and set out more towels. The keypad entry also did not work upon arrival and we had to call to be able to get into the house. The towels provided were also extremely small and thin; if we were to come back we would bring our own towels to use. Overall it was a nice stay with an amazing view. We enjoyed our weekend getaway!

Beautiful inside

The house is beautiful inside and the view is breathtaking especially at sunrise. There wasn’t any contact with guest services other than emails beforehand, so I didn’t know how to rate that. I do think you should let people know beforehand that the drive and driveway in and out of the cabin is a little scary, especially for city folk. Thankfully we came in a truck and during the day. The gravel road to it was kind of like a roller coaster ride. Also, no trash service, so you have to take your trash with you when you depart to a local dumpster. And just so you know, there were a few stink bugs in the upstairs bathroom, but not a real big deal. We also think a cheat sheet to figure out the TV’s for us old timers would be helpful. Other than that, the place is clean and once you get there, the view is amazing! We used the hot tub on the deck which was very clean and relaxing. We didn’t have time to use the fire pit. We were told wood isn’t provided, so we brought our own, but there was wood there. Chairs would be nice around it.
