A poorly insulated apartment with undersized A/C units. One of the beds had bed bugs and one of our group woke up with many bites.The soap in the bathroom was empty and the bathtub was not levelled, meaning that each step would wobble the entire tub. Great location though, very close to downtown.

In Sac for conference

We wanted a no frills place to stay while in Sac for a conference and this was perfect. Easy walk from conference center and restaurants. Would stay again.This is not a fancy place, but is a very comfortable and affordable option.

BEDBUGS and host entering WITHOUT consent or knowledge

Host entered WITHOUT knowledge or consent!!!! AND BEDBUGS!!!!!!I don’t even know where to start…. I was in the shower, thank God my husband was in the living room and we brought our dogs. Heard a light knock ONLY (which could’ve been something on the other side of the duplex) then heard the door unlocking and opening. My dogs went crazy. My husband asked who was there. They said “I’m with the property. Just want to make sure you guys don’t need anything “ LIKE WHAT?! I reached out to the host about that and asked if it was Going to happen again and if we can have a heads up, the host couldn’t have cared less. You’d think they’d apologize (which in response to this they will I’m sure but it’s done). If we weren’t home would they still enter? If my husband had taken the dogs out would he have came in while I was showering? So many concerns but nothing from the host. Then noticed tiny blood dogs on the sheet. Turns out after looking closer they were tiny bedbugs filled with MY BLOOD!!! Contacted the host. NOTHING. Support had to call the host and try to reach them but no answer. They responded a day LATER AND NO APOLOGY OR ANYTHING. You can tell this place is not managed at all. It’s filthy. The backyard is FILLED with dog poop, pee and cigarettes. Stairs are not okay, last step had wood sticking out which caused my husband to trip. Just a horrible horrible experience that could’ve been fixed if there was something from the host showing compassion or at least embarrassment.

I found a bed bug on the sheets in the morning and woke up to 15 bites across my body. The owner and VRBO have both been dismissive with the situation. It is clear from other reviews as well that this location is lacking in safety and cleanliness. I would book your Sacramento stay elsewhere.

The good.Nice space to begin with. Apartment was clean. Good instructions for entry. Great location for downtown. The bad.Cigarette butts on the entry. Un kept foyer. Back door does not open, fire hazerd.Bath tub moves when you are in it, slippery. TV in bedroom did not work. French press is missing screen, did not work. Keurig coffee machine was broken. Bathroom door did not lock. OverallIts an old house. It has charm. It needs attention by ownership to shine. Just some attention to detail.

Birthday Get-A-Way

This was a celebration for my Niece's Birthday. My daughter lives in Sacramento and joined us. This apartment is in a good location, quiet neighborhood, walking distance to good coffee, groceries, restaurants. We spent Monday at Old Town and then short walk to Golden 1 for WWE. This is not a stand alone house. There are three apartments grouped together. It was clean and comfortable.

The apartmemt is in a great location. Very walkable to midtown. Which my dog enjoyed too. The place is pet friendly and a cute older aprtment. Only issue is parking. Street is permit parking only. We parked in a garage overnight (24 for overnight) Only real downside. The garage was about 6 blocks away.

UNSAFE

I booked a stay here as a young woman with my sister and our three children (8, 8, &5.) We arrived at the property after dark and went to go check into the house. Upon entering the house and walking into the rooms there were two MAJOR safety concerns and privacy violations. For starters, there is no screen on the window in the bathroom and it was left wide open. Anyone or anything could have climbed through. Toward the front of the house there is a large bedroom with shared access to a front porch. Instead of a doorknob being on that door, there was no doorknob, and a bunch of tissue paper stuffed into a hole where the knob should be. If you took the tissue paper out (which you were able to from the porch) there was a gaping hole which gave peeping Tom access to the bed. It was a direct line of sight. Since we were two young women and three very young children staying alone, we felt unsafe and left immediately after checking in. We contacted the propert owner right away and he didn’t respond until the following day listing off a bunch of excuses about how he has never had that happen before and he’s owned the property for years. That can all be true, but that was the current state of the house. And after informing him he said he would check the property and get back to us which he never did. He is now refusing to communicate or refund us despite the glaringly obvious safety concerns. I would not recommend this property and I am fighting to have it removed from the app.

The property listing is an apartment unit in a 4-plex older house on the 2nd floor. The unit was clean but in need of several repairs. There is no onsite parking and each day we had to go to Fedex Office in downtown to print out a parking pass and park a block away on the street. That was an inconvenience that maybe could be addressed for the next renter. It was a good location for being close to downtown.

Great location! Nice home

Nice home in a great location! Close to all things needed for downtown Sacramento. It is one unit of the 4 units in one building. Easy check in/check out process. Host was very responsive with communication. My only real complaint was the bathroom door wouldn't close or lock properly and one bedroom had a curtain to separate the room from the living room so not very private but we were with friends and family so it was fine with us!

A perfect price/quality ratio. Very close to the convention center, which was exactly what we needed for the CIM. The apartment had everything we needed, including *very* comfortable beds. (The Keurig machine didn't work, though, but that's okay as there was a french press.)

The stay was perfect for our event in Sacramento. Plenty of things nearby, food, bars, etc. The place itself was very clean. They list they have Keurig, but bring your own coffee things I guess. We also had to buy our own TP as there was only one roll for the five days and 4 grown men. Back door was wide open when we arrived. Would have been five stars if it weren't for those few things. Great place.

Gem in Victorian Midtown

Had a great time. The space was very well appointed, the beds were very comfortable and we loved the layout. Very close to many of Midtown’s best spots for food and drink. I will try and come back to this VRBO the next time we are in Sacramento.

Cute Little Place!

This was a cute little place to stay at. However, when we got there, there was 10 stairs up to the porch and then 16 more when you open the door. So, if you have someone who can’t go upstairs this might not be the place for you. The instructions to parking is confusing and print your passes before you come. There was also one spoon and two forks when we arrived. Lastly, there was no parking passes on the table. There however is a small target with Starbucks down the street. Besides all of that, this place really is so cute and old fashioned. It’s super cute to stay at for a few days. We had lots of fun!!

Should’ve read other reviews before booking

I’ll take credit for a small portion of this terrible stay because previous guests had mentioned how inconsistent communication was and the fact that there was no parking available. Owner did not have parking permit available for us and said “I’m working on it”. We were never able to reach him. Even called personal cell and nothing. Had to pay for overnight parking in a city lot. Overpriced for the place with one bath and no parking. Don’t recommend staying here, your money will be better spent somewhere else especially if you have kids, you know you need your car nearby. Not a family friendly spot. Neither is it pet friendly. Has lots of stairs and not good for taking a dog out at night to go potty.

Did not even stay.

We booked this property for one night for my husband, myself and adult son who has multiple sclerosis. We were aware of the steps to enter but when we got in there was a steep flight of stairs that was not disclosed in the listing. My son has balance issues so this was not safe and I would not have booked it if I had known. The stay started off with needing a parking pass that the owner needs to send a link to get. I messaged him, went through the process online to get the pass and it said his 10 allowable passes for the month were used. I messaged the owner asking what to do. He didn’t respond until after 8pm and then said it’s after 8 so you are good. Just move your car once in the morning before 9am and you should be good until you check out at 11. Who wants to set their alarm to go move their car and find new parking on their vacation? There was a hole in the wall in the living room that looked like some sort of exhaust was attache at some point. There was only AC in bedrooms that were window units. We set it to 60 degrees and it still didn’t cool rooms. There were some sort of joint and lighter on patio table. The lock in the bathroom was a latch and it was broken so the door stayed open an inch. By this point I was not willing to stay because with MS heat exacerbates symptoms so my son would not do well with the AC not cooling, plus the lack of cleanliness and condition of property. I do not recommend this property.

Summer conference stay

Pros: - close to the convention center, about a 9 minute walk, about 6 blocks away - pantry had basics like salt, pepper, complimentary coffee pods, tea bags, extra toilet paper rolls, paper towels, garbage bags, dish soap, etc - apartment was tidy, beds were clean and well made - we could not hear the neighbors - the unit has 4 apartments and it was quiet at night Cons: - neighborhood is in a sketchy area - we walked back at night after 9:30pm and we always walked past homeless people sleeping on the sidewalks and we walked past people smoking and doing drugs - this apartment does not have central air - the two window units did not cool the entire unit - one of the bedrooms is not really a bedroom (there is no door - it opens up into the living room with just a curtain to separate) - the bathroom has no lock - the shower was wobbly - you have to be careful how you stand or else you felt like you were going to fall - the bathtub handles were broken - kitchen faucet was loose but worked fine - apartment floor was very dirty (we took off our shoes when we arrived but within ten minutes, our feet were black like soot - it appears the floors have not had a good mopping in what may seem like months!) - upon our arrival, the deck was left untidy, with dirty cigarette tray, cigarette butts etc - the back deck appeared to have a beer box (not sure if it was full or empty) - you could smell smoke on the towels and in the bathroom, near the toilet and window

Dangerous for Toddlers

DO NOT STAY HERE! This property says it's ok for all ages, it is not. I have a 2 year old, and the host knew the age of my child before coming. I asked about a pack and play, no response. There is an exposed gas line, a shared patio with drugs and alcohol left out, and no parking. I contacted the host multiple times with no answer and am now going through VRBO to get a refund. I will update as changes are made, no one has been helpful at this point. This was completely unacceptable and I hope no one else stays here and has to go through this.

Needs more TLC

Spiders web all over main entrance, and inside. On pictures place looks beautiful but in person isnt, no laudry detergent, but only clorox, tub unstable and dirty. Needs to be replaced. Outside balcony dirty as well. No parking permit on hand for Weekdays.

The bnb is located on the second floor of a two story 4-unit historic townhome built circa 1890. The space is completely private and was fully remolded in 2018. The home has its own kitchen, bathroom and laundry room. All kitchen utensils provided as well as coffee/tea and basic spices for cooking. Two flat screen TVs (one in the living room and one in the bedroom) equipped with Cable and high-speed internet.
