This was a great location close to the underground, restaurants, & shopping. The flat had everything we needed for our stay. The host was very accommodating & made sure we were doing well during our stay.
Our host never send check-in instructions, despite acknowledging our payments. We were unable to contact the host prior to or after or arrival in London and had to work with VRBO customer service to get a refund and find an alternate booking standing on a sidewalk in South Kensington, London with our bags. I hope our host is alright, and I give huge kudos to the VRBO customer service team for prompt and comprehensive attention to our situation.
Super easy walk to the tube station, great bus service, everything you need to get anywhere in London. It's a funky older property, that has its charms, in a great neighborhood.
This flat was small but had everything we needed as a family of three on our visit to London. Location was convenient, and the host was extremely helpful and friendly.
This was a perfect place to stay for our 2 week Christmas holiday visit from Canada with our daughter and son in law. Stephen our host was very kind and helpful upon our arrival and even made a few little repairs with the hot water system when we arrived. The flat contains all necessities to make a stay enjoyable and the fact that the building had a lift made getting up and down super easy. The inside of the building was super quiet and very clean and the little bit of road noise from Cromwell Rd was not bothersome at all - we even had our windows open every night. The flat could use an upgrade on the mattress and maybe a more comfortable sofa - but this did not impact our stay in any way. The location is close to everything you need - groceries, restaurants, shops and transit. You can definitely to walk to many places from our flat. We hope to be able to use this location on another visit to London. Thanks Stephen for helping us enjoy a wonderful holiday.
Overall I had a great time here. Good neighborhood but a little noisy with traffic at night. Lots of local restaurants and grocery stores. Easy underground access. Check in was stressful but Vrbo customer service was able to resolve the issue
We had a lovely 2 week stay here. Stephen was amazing, hospitable and friendly. The location is wonderful, really easy to navigate the city. Plenty of cafes and restaurants are walkable and even a grocery. Pretty quiet street and building. Would definitely stay again!
Two seniors shared the flat using both beds. We were very comfortable and appreciated having the wash machine along with detergent to keep up with our clothes on a 10 day trip. Location was great, short walk to Earl's Ct. tube station and plenty of restaurants and bakeries. If you are a light sleeper there is a fair amount of traffic noise even up 4 flights, but we did fine with a travel white noise machine. We would book again if we come back to London.
Was truly a wonderful time. Our host Stephan came and greeted us at the station and gave us a great orientation of the area and the accommodations.
The most extraordinary thing about the orientation he did it with a broken arm awaiting surgery.
Thanks for the incredible hospitality!
The apartment is a four minute walk from Earls Court Underground making it possible to reach almost any spot in the city in 30 minutes. By staying here we were able to do twice as much as we would have in another location.
The apartment was clean and well outfitted. Very comfortable for two.
The property was cozy, perfectly located and exactly as described. Stephen was a phenomenal host and ensured we had not only everything we needed to be comfortable in our stay, but fantastic tools and resources to make the most of our time in London. He was incredibly responsive, warm, and a true joy to work with. We can't wait to come back and truly cannot say enough positive things about our time in the flat! Thank you!!
Very good location, very comfortable apartment, excellent reception
We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this apartment: very comfortable (just perfect for two), an excellent location (easy access to all fabulous sights of London), all the amenities that could be needed to feel oneself at home in a foreign country. And a wonderful host, who thought of everything and helped us a great deal to plan our visit. Thank you, dear Stephen! It was a real pleasure to get to know you! (Inna and Pavel)
Location is great. About 3/10th mile to Earlâs Court tube station, and 4/10th mile to Gloucester Road station. We walked home as late as 10pm and never felt unsafe. Close to 3 grocery stores, and lots of little restaurants. Apartment was adequate. Small kitchen with small fridge, microwave, and stove - we could whip up a breakfast and have a cold drink when we got in. We were there for 11 days, but spent little time in the apartment other than sleeping.
This is a well furnished and comfy little apartment just two blocks from the Earl's Court underground stop (great for in/out to Heathrow as well as getting around the city). Overall it's a good size for two; might be a bit tight for more (except children). You do have to keep the windows closed at night due to Cromwell Road traffic, but they are very good at blocking sound. Everything functions well; the wifi is great. The neighborhood has great eating options. The rental agent, Stephen, is exceptionally courteous and accommodating. We would definitely stay there again.
Host left us waiting 2 and a half hours on the street for access because his phone was off. Host does not communicate well through VRBO.
We booked for three adults but the third bed was a very short futon style couch with raised ends and a bar down the middle. It was impossible for an adult to sleep on. My daughter ended up sleeping on the lumpy couch. Hot water went off every other night. Linens were stained. There is a lot of road noise as it's on a busy street . I would definitely not recommend this listing.
This apartment is in a great location, convenient to the underground and useful shops . The manager is a lovely person, and super helpful. Other things I appreciated were the well-stocked kitchen in terms of utensils, microwave, stove + oven, coffee pot, toaster, etc.--even a small laundry washing machine! The refrigerator leaves something to be desired, as the freezer compartment lacks a door and thus does not keep frozen items. But for short stays, that's not a big handicap. The bed is very comfortable. A very good desktop computer with WiFi turned out to be an extremely important feature for me.
All that said, this is not an apartment for someone like me--elderly, easily tired, a bit arthritic. (1) The apartment is on the attic floor, 4 long flights up, and the lift is unreliable. Sometimes walking all the way up (or down, or both) was necessary; and it was difficult. (2) The toilet is so close to the wall as to be uncomfortable for women to sit on--at such time as the apartment is remodeled, this should be kept in mind. (3) speaking of the bathroom, the tub is too high for an older person to step into easily (though the water pressure is excellent, considering it's on the top floor). (4) finally, the windows (one in the bedroom and one in the living room) are so high that the only thing one sees is the sky; and the TV antennae on the roof of the hospital across the street. This is a structural matter and in no way a criticism of the manager, but it felt strange to not have a view. Also (and this is NOT a structural matter and could be fixed), the venetian blinds on both windows do not catch to stay open, so one cannot get optimum light in the rooms as the blinds are always down.
Again, I appreciated the small touches that the manager provided, including personal attention when I arrived and the night before I left, as well as being available througout the two weeks if I had any problems. Thanks, Stephen!
The location is perfect for anyone visiting for a few days. Old style apartment which needs some TLC, but has every convenience needed. Close to tube, supermarket, museums, etc, itâs an ideal base for solo travellers or couples. Communication with Stephen the agent is excellent- friendly, helpful and prompt in replies.
Well situated. Everything you need as well as some famous museums within a few minutes walk.
Stephen and his friend who welcomed us have both been very friendly and helpful.
We'll definitely come back. Thanks a lot
Stephen is a great host. He greeted us at the tube station and walked us to the apartment. He gave us an orientation of the area and house , the things to watch for and some great suggestions of places to eat. The apartment is well located. Direct bus to here from so many places like Oxford street and such. Hop on hop off bus stops were a few minutes away.. Having the elevator was so helpful. It was fairly warm when we were there but manageable with fansâŠ..we needed an extra one and Stephen provided it graciously when we requested. I would gladly. I donât back and stay again.
Originally from Australia, I live & work from home, very close to where the apartment is located, running a small business of my own. Hosting guests from abroad keeps me in touch with my own past as a backpacker exploring Europe!
Quite simply, it's a home away from home! The neighbourhood is full of interesting history and was for a long time, one of the most convenient and economical arrival points for those arriving to make London their new home!
