Tanya was amazingly accommodating and park across the street offered perfect proximity to a playground and rugby pitch where my 2 year old could run around. The shops down the street are also exceptionally convenient so the location of this flat really checked a lot of boxes for us.
This apartment is in a lovely, quiet neighborhood within walking distance of underground services as well as shops, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and parks. The sofa in the living room worked surprisingly well when connected to a bed for the children.
Great location near the Parson's Green tube stop in a quiet neighborhood. Lots of conveniences close by. Reasonably priced. Responsive owner.
Be aware that the rental is advertised as sleeps 4 however the sofa bed is old and uncomfortable. We have an 8 year old son who didn't have a problem with it but I would expect a larger person would not be happy sleeping on it.
Even if there was no light in the building entrance (the landlord warned us in advance as the electrician could not fix the problem before our stay), the apartment is great: neat and comfy, bright, elegant, kitchen and bathroom modern and clean, there is room for your luggage and there is no vis-Ă -vis, just Hurlingham park from the balcony. 10 min walk max from Parson's Green tube station. 2 minor remarks for improvement the kitchen tap joins should be replaced, the sofa-bed cover loose on the feet. Thank you very much Tanya, we will certainly come back next visit in London.
We loved the location and being close the the Parson's Green tube station. And the local restaurants were wonderful. But we were expecting a bit cleaner and more put together. The entry hallway and stairs leading to the flat (2nd floor) looked as if they had not been cleaned in months. I understand that area is technically outside of the flat, but given it is the first thing the guest sees (and walks through multiple times each day) it really makes an impression. The couch needs a good upholstery cleaning as well. It was a bit grungy. The view from the bedroom and bathroom windows into the back yards of the adjacent homes was really fun, with lots of flowers...especially roses. The street below in the front can be busy, but it was not that noticeable. The service was fine as well.
A bit worn around the edges - is more worn than pictures depict. Had significant issues with basics: Key didn't work on arrival - contacted owner by phone and had to bother neighbors to get into the building - we eventually got into the flat after we stood on street with suitcases for considerable time (over 30 minutes) on a drizzly evening. Not a good start. Turns out the wrong keys were left for us in the lock box. Sheets dirty - owner told us by phone (again) where to find clean sheets, so we changed the sheets. Owner visited the flat the following day, cleaned common area entry (was dirty) and left us a nice bottle of wine to apologize. While owner was responsive to (major) issues, the issues could have easily been avoided with better, hands-on management. WiFi mostly didn't work. We gave up and stopped asking for anything. Good hot water, however.
The property did not dissappoint. It was a pleasure to stay there. There were a couple of dissappointments.
1)On arrival , the oven had not been cleaned and was in an extremely dirty ,greasy and unusable condition. It took an hour of cleaning to make it functional. 2) the whole appartment felt like it had been left to its own devices for too long. We expect absolute cleanliness and functionality. The place was cluttered, aging, heating controls inoperable, basically "musty". 3) I had agreed with the landlady , at her suggestion,to leave a check for an extra night on the kitchen sideboard upon departure. (i had offered an online or credit card option). I recieved at least 3 emails several days prior to leaving asking for the money to be left for pick at very specific and inconvenient times up prior to departure. This was disruptive and borderline harrasment. The banks were closed , so i had to go out and pay debit card transaction fees for a foreign currency transaction just for her convenience. It was thoughtless and arrogant to attempt. to manipulate the payment in that way. I was tempted to not leave such a wingy assesment. I have nothing to gain or loose by my opinion. But i felt that being honest might be more useful and provoke a change to benefit the landlady longterm . As for me , I enjoyed the trip , and love the area and London and had a wonderful time. Thank you,
Robin
Tolle Wohnung mit allen was man fĂŒr eine gute Zeit in London brsucht....weg von den Menschenmengen und trotzdem sehr schnell in Zentrum de Stadt. Tanya antwortet sehr schnell auf Fragen.
Absolutely loved the area, the green a wonderful oasis from the hubbub of the city, lots of cafes and independent shops. Although the flat was tired overall, the bed was good , the location perfect and checking in and out seamless.
Very nice refurbished flat, ib a typical london victorian house. The area also is perfect for young people as well as for families with kids. Recommended.
The Good: Great location, with lots of shops and restaurants in easy walking distance, and a couple of good supermarkets within 5 minute walk. Easy 8-min walk to Underground station to get to anywhere in the city. Host was easy to work with in preparing for our visit, with clear instructions for getting in when we arrived.. Helpful folder with instructions about appliances in the flat, as well as maps of the area, and eating/shopping recommendations
.
The Only Okay: Some beautiful decor in the place, but could be cleaner and neater - lots of cleaning stuff lying around, including a step ladder in one corner, and a paint roller on an extension pole (?) in another.. Didn't need the pull-out couch for sleeping, but it has clearly seen better days. And be aware, the steps to the flat are not for the faint of heart: narrow, steep, and curved. A challenge with heavy luggage. Nothing the host can do about this, it's part of the building, but you should be aware of this.
In Sum: Depending on your expectations, location and cost could make this exactly the right place for you.
Glorious sunshine poured through the south facing windows which overlook the park.
Great cafes in the area. Super comfortable bed and really quiet. I slept so well !
Would recommend to anyone
Situated just minutes from the kings road and yet in a quiet location with lovely view over the park. Very comfortable double bed. The room has a blind and curtains so nice and dark, and quiet for a good sleep. The flat is well equipped with everything we needed. The new coop on Kings road was very convenient and close. I can highly recommend this flat to other travellers.
I Really enjoyed my stay, everything was amazing, great location and good restaurants near by. I must say Tanya was a great host. I will definitely be back soon.
My husband, two teenage daughters, and I enjoyed staying in this beautiful apartment. My husband and I slept in the master bedroom and our daughters slept on the pull-out couch. The space was perfect for us.
The apartment was clean and well appointed. The kitchen has everything you need. We made breakfast each morning in the apartment and then ate dinner locally--there are many excellent dining options in Fullham. In addition, Tanya supplies numerous converter plugs. We could never find the blow dryer, and I mention this because to save space with packing I do not travel with one.
One of the best thing about this apartment is its great location. There are so many neighborhoods in London that it is hard to know which neighborhood to choose. The neighborhood is very charming. We were surprised about the number of families living in the area, but it also had a thriving night life. The neighborhood is very quiet, we slept with the windows open each night. In addition to being a nice city, the apartment is in close walking distance to the grocery store (the Waitrose was wonderful), the tube, and many restaurants. Because there were four of us, we found it to be very easy to use Uber.
Please be advised that the apartment is on the second floor, with a steep narrow staircase, as is typical in Europe. We had only carry-on sized suitcases, so it was fine navigating the stairs.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay. The apartment was easy to find, easy to get into, and everything worked fine. When we return to London, we would consider staying here again. Thank you Tanya for making this wonderful apartment available.
We, 2 adults, teenage daughter and our 2 whippet boys stayed in Tanya's apartment for a long weekend. The area was perfect for us, parks for the dogs, short walk to the tube and vibrant area with a multitude of cafes and restaurants to choose from. Everything was as described. Would recommend and we'd love to return.
This is a fantastic apartment, beautifully done up with wonderful views out to Hurlingham Park. The bedroom is very quiet (which really is gold dust in central London!) and overlooks the gardens at the back. The bed is exceptionally comfortable and the apartment has everything you need for any length of stay. The little balcony is great and has sunny views over the park, absolutely perfect for a nice cool drink in the evening. I stayed here on a business trip and i found that the nearby amenities are brilliant. There are rental bikes just outside which made for an easy commute but the tube is not far away either. This apartment would be absolutely ideal for a romantic getaway or long weekend as well as any business related trip.
Great property with lovely view over the park, close to the highstreet and good proximity to the tube station. Very comfortable beds and nice living space. Could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay.
Grown up daughter's & I spent 3 nights here. The flat was a perfect size as it included a sofa bed. It has all the amenities you need. We had a car & there was always spots available to park on the street. You pay with coins in a parking machine box to cover the 9am to 5pm, 8hr parking, then it is free from 5pm to 9am. Short walk to the tube at Parsons Green, shops & restaurants. The neighbourhood is great. Felt safe walking home late at night from the tube. Tanya was great at staying in touch, via the email, as she lost her phone. One note for some people, this flat is located up one flight of narrow steps. We would recommended this flat to family & friends. Canadian family.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this little place. It's small but perfect for 2. I could see a family of 4, if the children are small. (Not teens) being comfortable in this flat as well. You can get downtown in just a few underground stops and pretty much anywhere else you want to go in little travel time. The neighborhood is nice and quiet, with its own markets, restaurants, and pubs. The bed is super-comfortable. We enjoyed sitting out on the balcony for an evening cocktail. The kitchen is well-appointed making it easy to stay in and cook, if you want to. We went to an Italian restaurant that was REALLY good: Luna Nuova. The White Horse was always hopping! The owner is responsive and easy to work with. Warning: watch out for traffic-they don't mark crosswalks with reminders about which way to look like they do downtown. Highly recommend!
