This property was as advertised. Right on a private beach, the views here are incredible. Make sure you plan to see a sunrise or sunset! Owner is very easy to work with and responsive.
I was there with my family for Christmas. This is not a good off-season rental. The beach is not walkable, and the heating system in balky. In summer the location would be fantastic... right on the ocean's edge. My crew was young adults and parents, and the master bedroom has a window to the awesome family room, meaning that if they stayed up late having fun we couldn't go to sleep. I think this is a property for a gang of youngish people.
We spent several nights at this house with my family. The views from the back deck and the family room were even better than the pictures. Location was great and it was very relaxing.
Perfect private home on the water. Home has every thing anyone would need, great location and especially wonderful views of the ocean.
August is busy time for vacations at the Cape but this home has a wonderful fully equipped kitchen and outdoor grill that made us decide to avoid the crowds and enjoy the property as much as possible
Our one year old granddaughter loved playing in the sand on the private beach. My favorite part of the day was sitting with my wife in the two red chairs overlooking the beach.
We had a wonderful time. You cannot beat the basically private beach in the backyard - ideal for kids and familyâs! The host was incredibly responsive, the house was exactly as pictured online. Very clean, very spacious and the game room downstairs was a big hit!
Loved the view! Very comfortable house, with an interesting layout. We were there off season, so not sure what its like in the summer, but very comfortable and quiet in early spring.
The view is spectacular. House is as advertised and quite large to host 10+ people. House needs some interior lighting work and some paint in main great room. Exterior needs some work on trim and siding. Wooed deck furniture needs to be replaced as there are exposed fasteners. Front door needs to be replaced as that is the first impression when you enter. Overall, the Property Manager was extremely accommodating and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and wished it was longer.
We had an amazing stay in Cape Cod and this beautiful home. The location can not be beat. You are in the center as far as getting to all towns in Cape Cod, but you donât have all the traffic of other towns. Itâs quiet and peaceful. Itâs wonderful to walk out the back door to the private beach. The views are amazing!! Wonderful to wake up to the beautiful views right out the window.
The home is great. Has everything you need in the kitchen. It can use some TLC, little updating, nothing major. Some new shower heads possibly.
Having said that, we would absolutely stay at this home again!! We absolutely loved it!!
This is a very comfortable, clean and spacious beach house. The views from the living room, loft and master bedroom are unobstructed and so serene. The propertyâs private beach is a little jewel, protected from the public areas by two jetties.
The kitchen is spacious and well stocked. There are plenty of fresh linens, blankets and towels.
Communication with the owner was timely and easy. Yiping is very responsive and very accommodating.
We spent a wonderful and relaxing off-season weekend at this property. There were only 3 of us, plus our four legged family member, but the layout of the house can easily accommodate much bigger groups.
We enjoyed visiting picturesque Chatham and took long walks along its Light House beach and the Cape Code National Sea Shore at Eastham. We had dinner with friends to celebrate my husbandâs birthday at the Ocean House restaurant, which was recommended by previous guests. Very good food, atmosphere and location! Plan to book in advance if you are going during high-season.
Thank you, Yiping, for sharing your home with us. We hope to return soon!
Originally listed as #3527800. We rented this home with 2 other couples to celebrate 50th & 60th birthdays. Our top 3 requirements were that the house be on the water, at least 3 bathrooms and an outdoor shower. I specifically asked the owner in an email about the outdoor shower and I was assured this home had one. The view is amazing, there are plenty of indoor bathrooms but there was no outdoor shower. The "outdoor shower" was a spidery storage closet with space at the top and bottom of the door, the plumbing ripped out, filled with folding chairs and beach toys. Even if it did work, there would be no sun on your face as it was under the roof. I have stayed on the cape before and this was not an outdoor shower. The owner kidded that I could use the hose. Not amusing to me, especially since it was one of the top 3 things we wanted. There was no apology or compensation, just an excuse that it broke over the winter and there "hadn't been time to get it fixed" ~ a phrase that was repeated often. The kitchen cabinet door was missing/not put back on, a kitchen drawer was broken, the windows in the master bedroom couldn't be opened without the top part crashing down, the blinds were broken/hadn't been reattached ~ all because there hadn't been time to get it fixed. The light switches were in awkward places, the door knob was too close to the frame and it scraped your knuckles, the path and landscaping around the house was overgrown and unweeded and the step down from the deck (by the house not the water) was dangerous because it was such a huge step down. It either needed a second step or to have more sand filled in. At night it was even more dangerous because the was no lighting. A few solar lights around the deck and path to the stairs would have been nice for a place listed as a luxury home. And those stairs down to the beach? Don't think that they are private. There is a public beach right next door and random people continually use those stairs, day and night. You also cannot stroll on "miles of sandy beach" as claimed. Finally, I expected better results from a professional cleaning company. The bathrooms, expecially the toilets were not cleaned well, plus there was a layer of dust upstairs and some mysterious crud on the loft window. Positives: Fabulous Friends and a beautiful view. Negatives: Not the luxury home it claimed to be.
I read the past reviews that were most critical so I wasnât surprised when I checked in since I researched. Do your research & as long as you know what youâre signing up for, youâll enjoy the house.
Great:
- The view - Absolutely spectacular w/ sunset views & access to the beach. If water/beach access with a view is your top priority, this is a great spot
- Location - Great.
Room for improvement, but expected based on pictures and reviews:
- Furniture is old, have loss of cushions/comfort. Rugs are old and stained. But- whatâs pictured in the listing is accurate. Itâs time for new bedding.
- We took our dogs & appreciate the dog friendliness. If someone in your group has a dog allergy, donât stay here. Right when we walked in, I noticed dog hair stuck in the rugs (not my dog hair.)
- The grill is mentioned in other reviews and I took it with a grain of salt. The problem is: Itâs already so dirty and filthy that it was unusable. Itâs time for a new grill. Dont expect to use it. Not to mention, itâs stored in a storage closet and tough to get out.
- The house itself is in rough shape & its clear deferred maintenance has been neglected. Windows are damaged, base boards are broken off, cabinet door is missing. Etc
- Itâs simply not clean. A deep clean needs to happen. Baseboards, walls, windows, dust everywhere, cobwebs, air vents are FILTHY, etc
Unexpected:
- No toiletries are provided
For the luxury price, condition of home and amenities need to improve.
The spectacular ocean views, the beautiful kid-friendly sandy beach and jetty near the house. You wake up to the sounds of the ocean, you have breakfast with a gorgeous ocean view every morning, you have your lunch at the incredible gourmet kitchen, you have your dinner at the deck enjoying sunsets, and you take a stroll on the sandy beach...
