My husband, friend, and I loved our stay at the Hillside cabin! It was in a great location, very quiet and surrounded by nature, and was close to restaurants and trails. Mike was great about communicating with us! We would definitely recommend for a weekend getaway and would stay again!
The cabin is a perfect little get away with an awesome view. We have family in that neighborhood so it is perfectly located to be close and be able to relax with our own space.
Had a wonderful time. Nice small updated cottage type home neslted in woods on a hillside near the lake. We stayed in wintertime so tree leaves we gone and had a view of the lake. The properrty itself is not large, but ample enough to enjoy the fire pit and hot tub.Mike, the host, was wonderful. Quick communication before and during our stay. Thanks Mike! A couple things worth noting: the two bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. Also, there is about 30 steps to go up and down to access the home from the street. Although not an issue for us, it could be for other visitors. Would definitely stay again.
This cottage is very cozy and rustic. I would not recommend it for more than a few nights. The set up is odd with the bathroom being downstairs and the bedrooms upstairs. The kitchen was nice and very functional. Some of the lights did not work properly. One of the beds is mismatched with the frame, so it caused me to almost fall off a few times. We found a pair of underwear underneath the bed, so it made me question how thorough of a job the cleaners do. The listing says that there is laundry available. There are no laundry facilities in the cottage. You would need to drive to town to go to the laundromat. Unfortunately, they are unable to change the listing to accurately reflect this. We loved the hot tub. The fire pit is great. The cottage is in the woods and Michigan has frequent storms. So there were a couple downed trees. Just be cognizant of the fact that this really is in the middle of nature. The downstairs was pretty damp and musty. There is a dehumidifier, but you have to empty the water bucket about every 12 hours in order for it to work well. The cottage could definitely use some upkeep, but overall it is a nice little place in the woods.
