Relax, you’re at the lake now. One step into this home and the fresh lake breeze and expansive views will immediately put you at peace. Great for single family, couples getaway, or small friend group gathering. Perfect vacation home for all four seasons. We’ve lovingly owned this home for nearly 50 years and have recently remodeled and updated it. Located on one of the best spots on Brooks Lake! Light, bright and spacious with two living rooms, and two decks with stunning lake views. Private sandy beach and dock. Shallow, sandy swimming area. Boat launch nearby if you desire to bring your boat. Or rent our pontoon to cruise the lake. The charming town of Newaygo is less than ten minutes drive. Sleeps 6 privately. Central Heat/AC. Kayak. BBQ Grill. Outdoor tables/umbrellas. Parking for 4-6 vehicles. Please note: This property sets on a hillside and encompasses four levels from garage to beach. Access to each level is by stair. You cannot access the main level of the home without traveling on stairs. Sorry, not handicapped accessible.

We had a wonderful stay at Brooks Beach House! It was a great home base for exploring Newaygo and nearby towns while still being a quiet, peaceful place to come back to and relax. The house was very clean, comfortable, and well cared for, with beautiful views that made the stay even more special.We really appreciated all the extra amenities and especially loved having several coffee brewing options to choose from each morning. It was those little touches that made our stay even more enjoyable.The host was great to work with and communicated everything clearly from start to finish. We’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in the Newaygo area, and we’d happily stay here again!

Love the host's prompt and attentive communication. Love this property, as well. The views and location are beautiful! We loved it so much last year that we came back this year. One thing that was disappointing this year, though, was the cleanliness. Last year, it was spotless! I'm a clean freak and I was impressed. This year, several places in the house were unfavorable and dampened the vibe of my stay. Other than that, I would highly recommend staying at this lake house.

The property has a lot of stairs, which means carrying everything down a level to main house and another level to lower deck and another to water. Lake and neighborhood is quiet and no issues with doing our morning and evening walk. We rented pontoon, no issues, understood basic pontoon, but very little gas was left from previous renter, which was suppose to be filled. Seen a number of swans and osprey in areaFound a few ants inside on kitchen counter and loads of big red ants on back deck, so we didn’t like using deck except to cookProperty inside clean, outside is getting a little run downHost responsive and thanked us for update on property

Thanks for your response and review. We are so glad you were able to enjoy the lake and boat. We just wanted to note that we do state in our property description that there are lots of steps and stairs. The house is built on the side of the hill that overlooks the lake. So, the lake views are amazing! We also provide monthly pest control. It was stated to us by the guests they viewed about a dozen ants on the lower level deck. We addressed it with the pest control. Although, ants and insects are a natural part of outdoor life in northern Michigan. The exterior is far from run down. We're not really sure what is being referred to here? The steps, siding, roof, decks, and lawn are in excellent upkeep. We have weekly lawn care. The docks are only 2 years old and in great shape. The beach front and seawall is also in great shape. We were just at the property a few weeks before this guest arrived and noted there was a corner of the lower deck that was sinking slightly. We brought out our handyman and he made some fixes for safety until we can address a rebuild of that corner in the fall. However, it's very safe to use. The upper deck is made of Polywood and in great shape. The lower deck is natural wood, and a bit weather worn, but certainly not in disrepair. In time, that deck will be replaced with a Polywood one. But at the moment, it is perfectly safe and in good repair. We always appreciated hearing from the guest and letting us know about any issues.

Brooks Lake House is more than just a rental property... it's a very special home to Jennifer & Ryan. Jennifer grew up in Newaygo not far from Brooks Lake. Ryan grew up coming to Brooks Lake every summer, staying at this very property when it was just a quaint cottage. When they started dating in college, it was this property they came to over and over to hang out at the lake as their relationship took root.

Twenty years ago they bought Brooks Lodge (just 2 houses down) and have been hosting large groups there since that time. Now the smaller family lake home has been passed down to them. They enjoy it as their own vacation getaway, but have also opened it up to share with others who want to take some time to refresh and recharge at the lake. They love hosting people domestically and abroad and sharing this special area of the country with them. It's especially rewarding to them when they hear stories from guests who have made lifelong memories with family and friends at a place that has been so special to them all their lives. Ryan and Jennifer have lived and traveled many places over the decades, but it's true what they say.... there's no place like home.

They seek to know one another and look out for each other. No matter the season, you will often find residents out for walks and getting to know one another. During the summer, the neighborhood is filled with residents, and feels active, but never busy. Fall months see a good amount of weekend activity and the fall foliage is breathtaking. Winter and spring you'll find there's more solitude. There's nothing like a silent snowfall on the lake. During this time of year round residents still hum about with their daily lives, so you never feel completely alone. Anytime of the year you need a respite, Brooks Lake House is here for you.
