Secluded and quiet location within miles to Acadia National Park. Saltspray provided everything we needed to enjoy the outdoor adventures of Coastal Maine.
We loved our stay at Saltspray! Ideal location relative to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Eve was so responsive as a host and had wonderful recommendations specific to restaurants and activities to look into during our stay. We absolutely recommend Saltspray for those planning a stay in the Bar Harbor area!
Saltspray was a perfect place to stay for our trip to Acadia National Park! It was clean, had a great view and we felt safe at all times. It was really nice to have access to laundry and a garage where we could park our car. Check in and out was a breeze. Thank you for hosting us!
Place was very clean, stocked and roomy. Host (Eve) was very accommodating and timely with communications, providing us with dinner and siteseeing suggestions. Parking was easy. Overall, we were very comfortable and pleased.
So adorable! Our trip was so short but the house was perfect location and just right for two people!!! It was our first time to Bar Harbor and it was beautiful. We want to go back when the leaves are at peak. I canât imagine how beautiful it would be. Thank you Eve. The muffins were the best!!! :)
My husband and I stayed at Eve's practically brand-new apartment above her garage for a few days in September 2025. Things we liked about our stay:--Eve was responsive to any communication--Check in/check out was super easy--Quiet neighborhood--Able to park car in the garage--Access to washer and dryer--Lots of hangers in closet (and built in drawers near kitchen) to unpack our suitcase--Small deck to enjoy the scenery--Only a .4 mile walk to catch the free Island Explorer bus at Mt Desert CampgroundThings we didn't like about our stay:--Bathroom did not have a toilet paper holder--Bathroom did not have a hand towel holder--Bathroom sink had no counter space --Shower stall was small and had to turn off water in order to shampoo hair and/or shave legs as there was no space to get out of water spray--Ceiling fan motor sounded like a crosscut saw--Microwave would not run for more than 3 seconds, regardless of what setting was selectedWe found the space to be a bit cramped for two people and would be better for a solo traveler.
The unit is new & had all we needed for our stay. The garage was a plus, but unfortunately, our SUV wouldnât clear the door. The location was great to reach anywhere we wanted to go & was easy to get to. We had homemade blueberry muffins waiting for us when we arrived. Such a thoughtful treat. And they were really good!
Very clean and up to date. Excellent European range, sink, and fridge. Easy access to both major areas of Mount Desert Island, Bar Harbor, and Acadia National Park. Apartment is on second floor over garage; necessitates a stair climb. Very welcoming host, but she was never intrusive. Good value for the money.
Perfect accommodations for us as a couple. Exceptionally clean; if a convenient location to Acadia NP and Bar Harbor is on your list, this meets the mark. Room is well organized, comfortable and has loads of light. Loved being in a neighborhood surrounded by trees and wildlife.
Our Host Eve was clear on all instructions and directions which made check in a breeze. Kitchen was well equipped, (even homemade blueberry muffins)everything was super clean & the location was perfect! Use of the garage for parking, and laundry on site was a bonus. Overall everything was exactly as written on site and other reviews were spot on. Eve went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, have easy access to her if we needed anything, while still having privacy.Gave great referrals and tips. Overall it was the perfect place & location for my husband and I. Bar Harbor & Acadia were absolutely spectacular. Would return & recommend this beautiful property. Thank you Eve! Mark & Mary Ellen A.
Saltspray was phenomenal!! My Wife and I stay for the weekend while we were seeing Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor! Great location - minutes from both yet quiet and peaceful! Highly recommend and would absolutely stay again!
This was a lovely place to stay for a week; a quiet, clean attractive and cozy place with a deck to sit out & view the garden and woods behind. Eve is an excellent host and is there if needed for questions etc., but you have complete privacy. Close to town, restaurants, Acadia, and downtown. Highly recommend! (Can't seem to load photos, but place & surrounding ares is beautiful.)
Eve was very friendly and helpful in guiding our choices for both dining and places of interest to visit. The room she provided was clean and just the right size for our short stay. We had a comfortable balcony overlooking her spacious yard and many birds visited her feeders. We especially enjoyed Eve's delicious blueberry muffins (homemade). We have many great memories from this beautiful place.
Everything about our stay was top notch! The proximity to the park and Bar Harbor was perfect. Just removed enough to recharge after long days of exploring and hiking. Our host gave great recommendations and makes the best blueberry muffins! Would stay here again!
I owned my own hotel for 14 years and truly enjoyed adding details to ensure the greatest guest experience. I love our beautiful island and have lived here since 1983. It's such a pleasure to share the magic of all this island has to offer with others.
I have only lived in this house and neighborhood for two years but it's the location and tranquility that I love. The ocean is not visible from my property but it is directly across the street and you can smell the salt water in the morning and hear the geese honking occasionally.
This rental is separate from my home and has everything a guest could need. The garage makes it special because you can store bikes, kayaks or park your car and be completely contained. The location to the park and Bar Harbor is excellent but still leaves you away from all the noise and hub of down town. It is also a quick drive to Southwest Harbor and Bass Harbor Light House. Schoodic Peninsula is a quick drive off the island and is also part of Acadia National Park.
