Soyez sur la magnifique baie de West Grand Traverse! Enlevez vos chaussures et partez pieds nus dans ce cottage super mignon situé dans le charmant village de Northport. Détendez-vous sur le porche surplombant la magnifique vue imprenable sur l'eau scintillante et passez vos vacances en vous amusant dans ce cottage de 3 chambres à coucher et 2 salles de bain. (La maison principale est 2 chambres / 1 salle de bain en bas et il y a une zone de couchage supplémentaire à l'étage avec 1 chambre / 1 salle de bain). La maison fait face à l'est. Cottage à 2 niveaux dans une rue latérale du village. 6 personnes.

1 lit queen et 1 lit gigogne (2 jumeaux) au niveau principal. Le niveau supérieur a 2 jumeaux. Cheminée, téléphone, Internet haut débit, télévision par câble / DVD, foyer. Fenêtre climatisée à l'étage seulement. Draps et serviettes fournis.

Quai, grand porche couvert et foyer extérieur. Regardez les voiliers arriver dans la marina de Northport depuis votre jardin! Courte distance de marche du centre-ville de Northport, où vous trouverez Barb's Bakery (où tout le monde va chercher des brioches à la cannelle), des boutiques de souvenirs, un terrain de jeu et plus encore. Musique dans le parc en ét��. Courte distance en voiture du phare de Grand Traverse, de Christmas Cove et du parc Peterson, où vous pourrez chasser les pierres Petoskey. Emplacement de couleur d'automne génial.

40 minutes à Traverse City et Glen Arbor (près de Sleeping Bear Dunes). 15 minutes à Leland & Suttons Bay. Des dizaines de vignobles sur la péninsule de Leelanau. Sentiers de randonnée dans le parc national de Leelanau, les dunes de sable de Houdek, la plage de Good Harbour, etc.

Great Location, Great Setting

Probably the least discussed aspect of this property is the ideal location. Private Sandy Beach...a large area dedicated to guests. Plus, the lake access is all sand. This is on the Grand Traverse Bay, so the sandy bottom extends out 100s of yards and is relatively shallow. Perfect for swimming, kayaks, paddle boards, etc. Property is walking distance to downtown Northport and marina. Entire area is quiet and serene. Christmas Cove Beach (Lake Michigan) is a 10 minute drive due west, the lighthouse is a 15 minute drive due north. Biking and hiking trails are all over the peninsula. Perfect Northern Michigan cabin.

Cute cabin on the water

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It's a house but has a bit of an old cabin feel. Great location - on a beautiful beach, uncrowded outside, walk to town. It comes with more than is in the description - outside chairs, fire pit, fans inside. The upstairs is an entirely separate apartment, which is great, altho the beds are kind of small. The second bedroom downstairs is also small, better for kids. Overall a really goood place.

Not Going Barefoot

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Porch, beach, view, location all great. Fans dirty and one with no knob so one speed and no on/off, just a plug. Bedroom lamp with broken pull cord. Plug/ unplug. No permanent window screen in bedroom. Nasty trash can with clean bag over it. Food splattered on cupboard and wall. Poor dish washing arrangement. Way too many dishes and no place left for food storage. Bed pillows flat- had to buy. Way too many throw pillows especially in these days of Covid. Had to use several sheets lint roller on couch to remove human hair and dog(?).

A Great Place To Relax

Dirty and run down

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we unlocked the door the smell of dust and greasy cooking odors flowed out. This house has not been properly cleaned in a very long time. We left and purchased cleaning supplies and then returned and spent about 2 hours cleaning the place. We bought a coffee maker and a toaster to use while we were there because the ones provided were so nasty. The floors hadn't been swept and the upstairs bedding had not been changed. The front porch was really bad too. We purchased a broom and swept the outdoor furniture and entire porch off before we could enjoy the view. One of the chairs in the living room was so broken down that you couldn't sit in it. Just because the house is old it doesn't need to be dirty. It could be so nice if it was better maintained. The location is perfect!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed barefoot beach and we are checking our schedule for next year hoping we can stay there again. Our only disappointment was cleanliness. There was dog hair everywhere, dirty finger prints on kitchen appliances and cabinet handles, and the 1st floor bath had dust and hair all over it. I did a quick vacuum and wipe down of the dirty surfaces. I also understand that this is a dog friendly rental, so a little dog hair would have been expected but this was clumps and hair everywhere as if it had not been vacuumed.However, location location location was perfect and our family very much enjoyed the dock and perfect access to swimming. The property management was excellent with speedy service to replace a broken shower head!!!Our kids loved having the upstairs all to themselves!

The heavy bushes out front seem to harbor bugs, I would also hire a pest control Co once per year to spray.

Barefoot Beach Review

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Was a great vacation! The house was nicely redone, but very small for 5 people. The living area was cute, but it was very small for all 5 of us. A washer and dryer, as well as AC would have been helpful. The kitchen did not have a designated space for a pantry, and was missing a number of key items. The kitchen also had limited counter space for food prep. I think for what we paid, the house needed more living space. The staff at Visit Up North was phenomenal. We had a tv break, and they had a repair man there within 24 hours, and a message when he would show up! Every time I called with questions, they were always answered completely, and with patience. We almost had a situation where we had to cancel last minute, due to a father's health condition, and the staff member who I spoke with was really gracious and understanding. You guys are great! This is our second Up North vacation rental.

Hornets in 2016, as experienced during previous years

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A large hornets nest existed under the stairway landing beneath the only door to access rented bedrooms. Hornets stinging us alerted us to their presence. I contacted Up North at 4:50 PM and requested advice. I offered to remove the the 5" diameter by 8" long nest myself or Up North could send someone. The Up North representative emphatically dismissed my offer of self help and assured me that an exterminator would be dispatched immediately. The self-help approach seemed prudent a little after 7 PM with no sign of an exterminator and Up North representatives being in absentia. The owner initially hosed the nest with wasp spray. The owner and I then took turns knocking the nest down with a long stick and water from a garden hose. The promised exterminator appeared the following morning. This was necessary as the remaining wasps were trying to rebuild their nest. The hornets nest was annoying primarily because the owner was aware of its presence during this summer and Up North should have been aware. This is because a review from 2013 or 2014 complained about the exact same problem.

Location, location, location!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Barefoot Beach was the perfect locale for my husband and I to stay with our daughter, her husband, and our 1-year old grandson. We babysat while they were able to walk into town to enjoy a friend's wedding, reception, and next day bonfire party!. The cottage was charming, we'll equipped, and right on a beautiful, uncrowded stretch of private beach. The bedroom situation was fine for us--we used the outside stairway to access the upstairs bedroom--the beds were comfortable and the bathroom fine, but the slanted ceilings upstairs ( which we knew about before renting) make it somewhat difficult to navigate. That being said, we would rent this cute little house again! The porch overlooking the lake was reason enough!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed at the Barefoot Beach Retreat in August 2015. It is a wonderful old cottage with lots of charm and character. The furniture is very comfortable as well as the beds. We really enjoyed the covered porch. We sat out there most of the time during our entire stay and just took in the beautiful view. The beach and water are hard packed sugar sand which is perfect for swimming. We will be recommending this place to everyone.

Nice Stay on the Beach in Northport

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time in Northport at this unit. The location on the water couldn't be beat. The home was very clean and all the utensils and linens we needed were provided. Although it is an older house, it has been well maintained and one can see that attention has been given to updating the house, especially the bathroom and kitchen. We thought it was unusual that access to the upstairs bedroom was from an outside staircase. On the other hand, our teen though it was ideal. There were many things to do and see in the area. Although we had planned to spend some time in Traverse City we didn't feel the need to do so. It was great having 3 bedrooms. The kids did watch some cable TV and we used the wifi. The wifi signal seemed a little weak and we had some disconnections but we were just checking and writing email so it wasn't a big issue at all. The staff was very helpful and experienced we had all the information we needed. We liked being within walking distance of restaurants and the grocery store. We would definitely rent again.

Another great time in Northport

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our fifth vacation at Barefood Beach and it didn't disappoint. The lake was a bit colder than we would have liked, but the cottage and the town -- as well as the whole peninsula -- were as stellar as always. We seem to discover something new each vacation. This year, it was the Northport Youth Summer Sailing camp, and Longview Winery. We've already reserved our time for 2015....can't wait to return.

Beautiful View

The location was excellent and provided and easy bike ride or walk into town. We even biked to the Leelanau State park.

Impromptu Family Vacation

Reviewer Comments: The rental company is very professional and pleasant to deal with, the location of the cottage is wonderful and it has the charm of a traditional northern Michigan cottage. We were very disappointed in the description of the cottage. It is VERY small for the price! The upstairs bedroom ceiling is 6 ft. tall at the top peak and has a steep slope. The walking room is essentially 3 feet wide before you hit your head! It is not at all appropriate for Adults and certainly not my 17 year old son who is 6'4". The family room only has seating for 4; a club chair and sofa for 3. The cottage is advertised as sleeping 6, 7 or 8 depending upon the ad for it. This is not at all accurate. The condition of the cottage is basically good. There are windows that do not lock or are not operational and the kitchen floor has soft spots in the subfloor. If the description of the cottage was accurate and truly reflected the cottage, we would have known what we were getting and therefore would not have been disappointed at our arrival.
