Take it easy at this peaceful and remote getaway. This cabin in the woods will melt your stress away. Only 45 minutes to both Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks. Nostalgic and eclectic. You will be inspired by the unique style and all wood cabin feel. Perfect hideaway for any occasion. There is a dedicated office if you need to get some work done. Or enjoy some peace and quiet surrounded by woods and grill on the patio. This cabin is truly an experience.
Very cool property and house. Inside was very clean and definitely provided that 'cabin feel.' Host was very helpful and communicated well. We took him up on two of his recommendations for food after a long travel day (dinner - the Marina was a hoot!, as well as the coffee grab n go the next morning.). As others reviews have noted, the outside property grounds need some TLC. The downstairs toilet needs all new parts and doesn't flush. The bedroom TVs didn't work.) Would stay here again, especially as a stop over on the way down to OBX like we did.
The cabin was very cute. We enjoyed our stay. There were a few things, the ceiling fans were very dirty and the humidifier up stairs leaked and dripped down into the bedroom below. We turned off the humidifier immediately and cleaned up the mess. We contacted Andrew to let him know. The toilet upstairs has a huge crack in the bowl.Other than that we enjoyed it
My wife and dogs had a great time. Cabin was very clean and very cozy plenty of room nice and secluded. They have everything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay. Definitely would stay here again. My worked and i went fishing. no complaints from us if i had any critique at all it would be the internet is a little slow and spotty. but that's only because my wife had to work i could care less i personally didn't use it or even would so no complaint from me. I HAD A WONDERFUL STAY HIGHLY RECCOMEND THANKS.
We had a fantastic stay at this VRBO in Shawboro, NC. The cabin experience was perfect for our family, surrounded by wildlife and a cozy retreat. The home itself was comfortable and well-maintained, making our stay enjoyable. Andrew, the host, was excellent with communication, keeping us informed throughout our visit. This place provided wonderful memories that we will cherish. Highly recommend for a unique and memorable getaway!
To be honest nice place and could be a 5 stare if it hade a update. The shower head up stares was shot along with the toilet was broke we where afraid to use it thinking it may fall apart on us. the back porch chairs where broke oe not useable. we was not able to watch the TV due to poor internet so it buffered the hole time. Last thing it needs a deep clean there where cobwebs every where with spiders on them we found a long handle duster and knocked down the ones that had living 8 legged friends in them and left the others. Also if you run the AC upstairs it seems that it leaks down the wall to the back bedroom down stairs. if they would put some love into it i would come back to it again as it was quite in a nice area and pleanty of room.
The inside of the cabin was very clean but the screened in porch left a lot to be desired...couldn't enjoy the evenings on the screen porch due to the amount of holes and areas where birds, flies and bugs got in.
Couldn't open the windows due to the cobwebs, dead bugs and dirt.
I suppose I should have looked closer at the picture of the deck with the grills/smoker/steamer...can't imagine they've been used in many years...rusted and nasty. Oh, and a nice hole in the deck.
Not sure it is required from Vrbo, but it certainly would have been nice to know this house uses well water
Never did find the hair dryer, had to buy toilet paper (1 spare roll for 5 day stay and 4 adults?) and hand soap (watered down to the point it streamed out of the pumps) Kitchen freezer leaked, knobs broken and hanging from the stove, closet door in bedroom literally falling into room, multiple holes in the couch, WiFi spotty at best
Presented all this to the hosts and they seemed very eager to know and willing to fix. When I inquired about them issuing a credit....CRICKETS.
Iâm going to start off by saying if youâre allergic to bees donât stay here. You have to fight them to get in the house. The outside around the house wasnât in great condition. The water smelled so bad. When I went to make breakfast the pans had dried food on them. The furniture was old and had tears and burn holes. I honestly didnât want to sit. The shower had cobwebs. The towels were the really cheap kind you find at a bad motel and we only got one each for 5 days. Downstairs bathroom only had one roll of toilet paper and it wasnât a full roll. When we got there the upstairs bathroom had no toilet paper on the roll. We had less than a half of a roll of paper towels. No extras anywhere. The fan in the downstairs bedroom didnât work and the light didnât either. The shower head upstairs is ancient and needs replaced. The entire place just needs a complete upgrade. I was pretty disappointed. Wasnât worth what I paid. Would definitely not stay again.
This Home was amazing ! From start to finish I felt like I was at home. For a dog friendly Home it was clean organized and extremely comfortable . Was visiting family in Elizabeth City and was proud to have them come and visit. We played games and relaxed by the fire place. We didnât have to worry about going out because it was fully functional with cookware and dishes. Everything worked well and I couldnât have been more happy .
