Read the reviews⊠house is old, but clean. Great location with lots of rooms. We loved exploring the area during our stay! No A/C, but stayed cool with windows open.
Came from WI for the car show. Cabin was located by the water. Cabin leaked water when it rained and smelled musty and moldy. The whole house was unlevel.
Les points faibles : Emplacement et exactitude de lâannonce
As others have mentioned the property is rough. While you can see the water from the upper balcony they fail to tell you the home is across from some kind of commercial shipping yard where semis are coming through during the night. The yard is not at all private. The firepit is in the side yard sitting at an intersection. There is not enough seating indoors or out for the number of people they say the home can fit. Im thankful we had chosen ahead of time to eat out throughout the weekend. The kitchen would not have been fun to cook in. Anything I used out of the cupboard I washed prior to using. The house was overall clean as was the bedding. However, itâs an old cottage ⊠These are just some things I wish I had understood before booking.
Great quiet neighborhood. Great place to stay. Close enough but far enough away from tourist traps ! Mystery spot is a must see when there ! It was cute & family friendly
This property is lovely. It has all of the old charm of a country cottage and the most amazing location. It is very close to downtown St. Ignace and the ferry docks. The view from the upstairs patio was amazing.
Great location in St Ignace. Great price for the number of bedrooms. Bathroom and kitchen could have cleaner and the cottage structure was very quirky.
Stayed 2 nights on our first trip to the upper peninsula with my wife and son. Nice house as advertised with everything needed to be more than comfortable
We had a great stay! The house is close to everything. You can see the water and island from the house! The beach is only a couple minutes down the road and so are all the shops and places to see or go! We will be back most likely!!! Thank you!
We booked the house for 5 nights and had a great time. It is centrally located so was near the ferryâs, restaurants, shops, etc. There is a grocery store right up the street and a family dollar. The house is old but has a lot of character with a great sun room and deck off an upstairs bedroom. Mark, the owner, is great to work with and very responsive when needed. We will be back next time we make it back to Michigan!
House is a shack. Falling down around you. From the floor leaning to the cracks in the walls and ceilings from the foundation giving away. None of the doors close bc they are not square. 1 inch gaps in each door from left to right. The whole house is leaning. Hope this help the next group.
Five adults travelling with two devices each could not find enough outlets to charge everything without negotiation. Not all the bedrooms had lighting. Those with lighting didn't have enough bulbs. We fixed that, because, we were seniors, light is imperative. None of the floors were level. If you are unsteady on your feet, this place is not for you. Remember we were five seniors. We loved the location and laughed about all the quirks, because we felt the rent was fair for the level of accommodation offered.
3 generations taking my parents to cross off one of the few remaining states off the list of ones theyâve not been to. The property manager was so kind and considerate đ„° he checked in on us to make sure all was well. The home was huge for being built when it was! We had plenty room to roam around. Very well appointed also. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals when we decided to.
You could really feel the history and the love that went into this house â€ïž. Thank you Mark for making my parents last road trip a memorable one!
The property was easy to find, affordable, and in a good location. The house is old so it definitely has its crooked quirks, but functions well for the purpose. It was well stocked with bedding, towels, and essentials. We were pleasantly surprised with the showers water pressure and no hard water! The yard could use some upkeep from weeds and dog poo. The owner offered the cleaning fee back if we were able to do the cleaning as the typical crew was not available. We didnât have a problem doing that for a $100 refund, which was quickly refunded through Vrbo. Overall we were happy with the accommodations.
The property is quite old as advertised. The condition of the property isnât good. Slanting floors, musty odors, etc. the refrigerator wasnât clean. It had spills and hair in side.
Pros:
Nice 2nd floor deck; washer and dryer available; plenty of room, convenient to attractions
Cons:
Still a work in progress--unlevel floors, doors, that need work, unsightly ceilings, noisy location, limited TV package (no ESPN, CNN, FOX news), needs some paint and cleaning. No A/C
This shack was nearly crumbling from the foundation to the roof. It had none of the rustic charm advertized. It was rusty, not rustic. It smelled of natural gas and mold. The furniture and beds were probably claimed from dumpster diving. Many of the lights had no bulbs or didn't work at all. We stayed one night and requested some tefund from the host for the other four nights. He refused to reply to our texts.
Lori & I have been coming up to St. Ignace for twenty two years. Being professional photographers we loved the scenery and fell in love with the people. After ten years of looking for our own little piece of heaven we stumbled upon The Love Shack.
The location of the love shack is perfect. When we bought the home it had been vacant for many years. Noone saw what we saw. We have redone almost everything but as we all know the work of an older home keeps us jumping. It is close to town and all the happenings. The views are wonderful and with 4 children in our family the playground is right down the street.
