Intimité et nature. Beaucoup de sentiers pédestres sur plusieurs acres de terrain. Bien qu'il soit isolé, vous n'êtes qu'à 2 miles de la ville.
La maison était une taverne de la fin des années 1700 pour les colons de la région pour obtenir un repas et une chambre pour dormir la nuit lors de leur voyage sur la route des colons Hinman.

We absolutely loved staying in this home! I felt like I was walking into my home. So clean and beautiful! We saw deer twice right across the road. We had children in our family group, and they loved playing in the snow. Lots of fun nearby in Barton, Stowe, and Burlington. The Canadian border is 20 miles away, and we loved Quebec City! The local cheese and maple syrup products were especially enjoyed!

Great location for easy access to all the lakes in the series. Not to mention the very nice home to return to to rest and recover; best kitchen ever!

Wonderful location for our family reunion in a beautiful setting. There was plenty of space for our whole family to gather in the kitchen/dining/living room open space. The kitchen was fully equipped for anything we might want to cook. Gorgeous country setting just minutes from shopping and Crystal Lake. It was better than we could have imagined.

Wonderful home

The home was well furnished, spacious, and had everything we needed to cook meals. The area was quiet but close to the main roads and Barton. Gail was very responsive and accommodated an earlier check in. This is our third visit to the North East Kingdom area, and this home has been the best so far. We will definitely come back!

We had a great stay with our group. The house was spacious and the amenities were abundant. Very cozy and comfortable home. It was so great that we did not mind trailering our snowmobiles a short distance to meet up with the VAST trails. The conditions were great! The hostess was awesome and quick with response. Highly recommended because it is deserving of it, it did not disappoint in any way!! You will enjoy your stay. We wanted to use the outdoor fire pit at night after our ride, but at below zero temperatures…. did not venture out into the cold. but on a selfish note, wanted it to be available for when we were in that area.

It was wonderful! ! The toddlers enjoyed the paddle boat on the pond and their dads swam in the pond ! The barn was great to have when it was raining . The house was conveniently located and so perfect for my family. We want to book again next summer!

Beautiful haven

Our third time here, we always leave with great reluctance. On the way home we stopped for breakfast at the tiny Busy Bee diner in Glover and had an excellent meal and good conversation with the owners and other customers. Parsons Dinner House is also excellent. Thanks for your hospitality, Gail.

A nice break in VT

The house was really clean, the kitchen has all the amenities you'll need and the beds were cozy with their flannel sheets. Craftsbury is only 40 minutes away for cross country skiing and Jay Peak is 45 minutes for downhill. Lots of hiking nearby, too. Of course, pizza from Parker's Pies, just two miles away is a must. The house had all you need for a relaxing holiday.

Beautiful farmhouse

The house was really nice. The host took care to prepare the house for us and make our stay comfortable. She was very responsive, promptly answered all our questions. Would definitely recommend to friends and would definitely keep it on my list to revisit in summer and/or fall when we can see more of the area around.

Perfect Family Gathering Place

Our family (6 adults and 1 toddler) really enjoyed our stay! There were plenty of bedrooms for all and the beds were very comfortable. The spacious living room and dining table gave us alot of room to gather together. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed to cook big family meals. We also spent alot of time outside at the fire pit and at the little pond. The outdoor space was very pleasant. All in all we highly recommend the Barton house.

A gem in the country

My 11 teammates and I stayed for 3 nights at Gail's home. It was a perfect match for us. It was clean, and had everything we needed - well-stocked kitchen, bathrooms and plenty of comfortable beds to sleep in. The days were very hot, but the house was cool and comfortable. Not to mention that the pond was a huge bonus.Gail was very responsive to our inquiries. We unanimously voted to go back next year! Thank you, Gail!

Great house— really well- stocked and comfortable

Place is in great condition, with a large assortment of clean rooms and great beds. Kitchen VERY well-supplied. Near Glover (Bread & Puppet!!!) and West Glover ( Parker’s Pies). Large independent supermarket in Barton ten mins away. Enormous field for dogs to play. Owner was very responsive when we locked ourselves out on a Sunday!!

Perfect for the eclipse

We rate this as one of our favorite places to stay, and we spent the day outside sledding, eating, and drinking. The eclipse didn’t disappoint, either. Beds and furniture are comfortable, and the kitchen had everything for us cooks.We enjoyed watching duck antics on the pond, and we saw a mink too. We found some good hiking, though mud season is on us. The dogs were able to romp freely without worry. Thank you, Gail, as always.

Great location and outdoor space

Great location and outdoor space. It's not shown in the property listing pictures, but there is an awesome backyard space with a fire pit that we took advantage of to enjoy and outdoor dinner and star gazing. It was our favorite part of the rental. The house itself is older and has some slight renovations here and there (also, bed configurations shown in the property photos have since changed). Kitchen and dining room are a great place to gather the full group around (we had 14 people). Cons: bedrooms are small and mattresses are outdated. Very close by Parker Pies and the local supermarket, where were bonuses!

Sorry to hear that the mattresses were uncomfortable for you, and although I know it is difficult to please everyone, I have just today ordered two replacement mattresses from Nectar to hopefully start to remedy the problem. I appreciate your honesty and constructive review and hope you will give us another try in the future.

Lovely home, beautiful view

We had 4 adults and 2 kids, and there was more than plenty of space for all of us.The home was clean when we arrived, and everything we needed was available: towels, washcloths, kitchen towels, lots of kitchen ware (pots, dishes, utensils, appliances, dishsoap, sponge, etc.)As is the case with most homes in the winter, the air in the house can get pretty dry with the heat, so bring a humidifier if that is something that bothers you.There is plenty of outdoor space, though we didn't use any of the conveniences outside because we stayed through a cold front, but the view of the sunrise and the field behind the house is just gorgeous.Gail was responsive and easy to communicate with when we had any questions.Overall, we had a lovely stay.

I grew up in this house with my 6 siblings. My husband and I purchased it from my parent's estate in 2007. We have had to make many repairs and improvements, but we love the charm, beauty, location, wildlife and serenity of it all!

I grew up here, and still live only about 20 minutes away. I can advise about the area, and I am on hand if any problems arise. It is nice to have a private pond and a low traffic road.
