My stay at Candee Mountain Retreat was absolutely perfect! It was scenic and remote, and the cabin was beautiful! The hosts provided great information about the area and made check in and check out completely seamless. The cabin amenities were great, especially the hot tub, which overlooked the mountain and was the perfect place to enjoy the mountain sunset.I’m absolutely going to try to stay here again.

Would have been fabulous if we could have made it up the road to the cabin we booked...we stayed in a lower cabin that was very nice instead.

Great place to stay

Loved this property! We enjoyed walking the trails and relaxing at the fire pit. The inside was well furnished and clean. We definitely plan on coming back. The host sent a lot of info regarding things to do and places to east, as well as info about the trails on the property

This was a great getaway for my husband and myself! We hiked during the day and then came back to enjoy the hot tub. The owner was very helpful when the WiFi went out.

The pod is small, but the layout makes it feel spacious. We had everything we needed and great info from the host ensured that we were well prepared. There's beautiful scenery at every turn and some fun finds in downtown Bakersville. Highly recommend star gazing from the hot tub. We had a wonderful time!

Amazing place to stay

The place was nice and clean, the owners communication was amazing, and they brought us towels when we asked and even went out of his way to find something I left after we had left. All in all, an amazing trip and a wonderful host.

Awwesome stay!

The porpety was even better tha expected. The host was amaxing! I'd recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing stay. We were so pleased with the comfort and secluded location.

Great Place

The cabin had amazing views. Loved the hot tub and fire pit. Each cabin had its own privacy. Well decorated and everything we needed was there. Great host who communicated well and answered all my questions.

Peaceful Cabin Getaway

The cabin was well-stocked, easy to find, and cozy but not cramped. We had everything we needed to enjoy our time away in quiet comfort. Kevin did a great job answering questions quickly and gave us some great local recommendations as well. Already saved the spot to make sure to come back!

Great Weekend Getaway

Kevin’s cabin was a perfect weekend getaway. Close enough to plenty of hiking and even food options with a little bit of driving. That being said, the property has everything you need to not even have to leave. One of the best parts of our stay was the peaceful, starry nights in the hot tub and by the fire pit. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Kevin and Candee were amazing hosts!! I accidentally booked a day short and they were quick to help me resolve my issue. They gave excellent recommendations. It’s the little things that make a stay special. They provided large paper coffee cups with collar and lid so that I didn’t have to stop on the way to work, not that Bakersville has any coffee shops. The lights were on and the AC pre-cooled for my arrival. Complimentary pancake mix and k-cups, little bottles of soap and shampoo like hotels used to give you. All took this stay over the top.That’s not to say that everything wasn't great. The cabin was meticulously clean, linens were fresh, and everything was stocked. Such a peaceful getaway, great location, surrounded by wildlife and nature. 10/10 would definitely stay there again.

Romantic Cabin

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this romantic cabin. Everything was perfect! We really enjoyed the hot tub each night while watching the stars. The fire pit was awesome with an abundant amount of firewood. The cabin is designed perfectly with a very modern look. Kevin did an amazing job with making sure we had everything we needed. He was such a pleasure to talk with! We can’t wait until we can come back.

Best remote location for a couple (and some fur babies)

This location is gorgeous, nestled into the top of a mountain, in the mornings you get to watch the clouds descend over the scenery while you eat your breakfast on the well prepared deck. At night you get to stargaze in the comfort of your own hot tub. During the day you can wander the trails and find yourself on a beautiful overlook or a suspension bridge over the toe river! Or you can walk to the NCOA and book a tube or waterfall excursion. I could’ve stayed for a week and found entertainment. The home is small but filled with everything you need. We were able to cook a full salmon + steak dinner for two using just the kitchenette! If you come prepared, the home will have everything you need! Highly recommended for any couple looking for a sweet retreat!

Candee Mountain Retreat - Nature's Embrace with Modern Touches

Our recent stay at Candee Mountain Retreat was absolutely fantastic! From start to finish, everything about the cabin exceeded our expectations. First and foremost, the communication with the host was exceptional, Kevin and his family really made us feel at home. The new decorations, bedding, and the houseware items were perfect. We loved how the cabins were positioned on the hillside and it was evident that the hosts put a great deal of time and effort into the grounds of the property. We enjoyed hiking the property the morning of our second day it was a beautiful day and our dog loved exploring. We made our way to Homeplace Beer Company in Burnsville, NC located about 20 minutes from the cabins we enjoyed local beers and food with our dog in the outdoor beer garden. We loved the hot tub and the fire pit! We had a fire all day and long into the night—lots of fire wood was ready for us, we thoroughly enjoyed it! The host also had a grill set up over the fire pit to cook steaks or boil water. The cabin has a mini countertop oven which can do a bunch of things such as air fry and toast we used it for our breakfast and dinner that we prepared before coming, this allowed us to enjoy both the comforts of home and the unique feeling of being out in nature while camping. Candee Mountain Retreat is a hidden gem perfect for couples or anyone looking for a peaceful escape in nature with some modern conveniences. We thank you again Candee family and look forward to returning.
