Nos invités en cabine viennent de nombreux horizons, mais nous avons constaté qu'ils partagent un désir commun; pour échapper à l'agitation de la vie urbaine et retrouver le rythme de vie plus aisé de la nature. Nous accueillons de nombreux invités à la recherche d'une retraite relaxante; couples cherchant une escapade de la vie citadine, randonneurs et vététistes, aux photographes animaliers et nature. Vous serez sûr de vous détendre dans un cadre où vous pourrez découvrir la beauté de la nature, le frisson de l'aventure et rafraîchir votre esprit.
Nous nous spécialisons dans les escapades calmes et paisibles pour les couples et n'acceptons plus les groupes de toute sorte par respect pour nos voisins.

Sweet cabin away from it all

Thank you for a nice, little get away. Everything we needed for a long weekend. Lovely location! (One note: if you plan on boiling noodles or making something like oatmeal, be sure to pack a pot of your own to cook in. There are a couple of cast iron pans in the cabin, but no other cooking pots.) Cami & Josh

Another magical weekend at the Bird House!

This is our second stay this year and just requested a booking for next June. We love the location. It's peaceful, beautiful and relaxing: a place to truly decompress. Great places to hike in the area, and, of course, fantastic wineries and breweries.

The Best Getaway we ever had!

This cute, romantic little cabin, secluded in the woods, allowed us to immerse in nature, disconnect from our crazy routine and reconnect with each other. While the wineries and scenery were unique, we couldn't wait to get back to our hideaway. We found the cabin and restroom perfectly clean. Our host had provided enough wood for the fire pit, we were able to have a restful night sleep, and make tea and coffee in the morning in the little stove. Thank you, Dave. We'll be returning soon!

Dave was great! He was very responsive with any questions and suggestions for things to do in the area. We actually got upgraded to a different cabin near Hammondsport. The cabin was amazing with some basics there for us to use including a heater, French press, grill, and utensils/pots/pans. We had a great time and Dave was a great host. Would highly recommend.

Perfect Mix of Off Grid Experience with modern accommodations

First of all, the property was beautiful. The cabin was well constructed and cozy. Dave did an amazing job providing accommodations for the weekend. He provided ample firewood, fire starter, toiletries, lights, speakers, dishware, everything you could possibly need! I was actually very overpacked because I did not expect that he would be so thorough with providing all the items he did. If you want to enjoy the serenity of the outdoors with an off grid experience while not quite living like Bear Grylls in the artic tundra then this is the place for you! Can't recommend this listing enough, was everything we had hoped for!

Peaceful

We loved this place..the view from the front porch drinking morning coffee was perfec. Dave upgraded us because he knew this place was closer to the cute little town of Hammersmill. The place was spotless and everything needed was there for a fun few days without electricity. We woul d love to come back. Dave was a great host. He even made a fire for us the first night while we were out for dinner

Will absolutely come back!

Everything about this property was absolutely perfect. Dave and his wife provided absolutely everything we needed for our stay, aside from a few basic things that he said we needed to bring. The walk really wasnt that far from the parking to the cabin. We stayed warm despite staying during a cold rainy weekend. The location and relative remoteness was ideal for my stay!

A nice reprieve

The cabin was as discribed. Good communication with the owner. The spot was sufficiently remote, very quiet, but still within a short drive or hilly bike ride to the lake and other attractions. I was disappointed that there was an extra firewood fee and heating fee (what heating?) since I thought those would be included in the price of the cabin. We loved our stay there but were a little soured by the final price breakdown.

Great Place for a couple.

It was peaceful and relaxing. We stayed for 2 nights and I was sad to leave. The owner supplied me with firewood and plenty of water. The bird house was very clean with a rich history. I was glad to have picked such a retreat. I would love to go back.

The perfect hosts!

Our host was a great communicator! He and his wife thought of everything you might have forgotten you will need and supplies were tucked away in the cabinet and chest within the cabin. The cabin itself was cozy and stocked with everything to make an off the grid stay top notch! It was a beautiful 40 minute drive to Watkins Glen from the cabin. We have already recommended the property to all our friends and family!

Clean and Quiet Cabin in the Forest

The Bird House is the perfect place for peace and quiet. Dave, the owner, answered all of my questions and made an excellent effort concerning our visit. I highly recommend the Bird House to future guests who are fond of nature, peace, quiet, and a clean cottage in the forest.

Just what we were looking for!

Not one to write reviews, but this cabin was exactly what we were looking for - close enough to the city/wineries/breweries, but still remote enough to have some space from it all! It’s about a 3 minute walk from where you park your car to the cabin, but wagons were conveniently provided to help carry all of our stuff. Even though there was no running water or electricity (as clearly stated in the description), Dave and JoAnn provided many amenities to make our stay more comfortable - water jugs, a solar shower, an outhouse, solar lights, flashlights, etc. They were truly amazing hosts! Super communicative and responsive. After we met them and we’re headed out at the end of our stay, our car battery died and they were kind enough to come jump our car. Super nice people with a great space!

Vous êtes reçu par Dave Hopkins

We were born and raised in the Finger Lakes area. We have over half a century of the knowledge of what this area has to offer. Keuka Cabins originally started as a place to spend time with our four children. Our family found joy in the simplicity of a slower pace of life and time to reconnect. We started hosting guests over a decade ago. It quickly became our passion to share our appreciation of nature.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Although purchased as a future home site for my wife and I, we soon realized the cost of running electric, running water etc. combined with four kids in college was unrealistic at this time. We have found such little things as pressing your coffee with water heated over open flame, as opposed to your Kuerig machine is a small price to pay for enjoying the peace and quiet.
With todays rising costs for getting away from the city we feel this is a perfect retreat for many guests from all over the world.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

You can drive right by this little paradise in the woods without even knowing its nestled beyond line of sight. Incredibly private and my 'nice doggies welcome' policy make for a nice little get away. Minutes from local wineries, breweries & distilleries. Watkins Glen State Park is the biggest draw to this area and is located 35 minutes away. We are also a few miles away from Keuka Lake, Penn Yan and Hammondsport.
