Nice little get away
If you are looking to get away from things this is a nice little spot. Town is maybe 30minutes away. Dave is very responsive to questions and willing to accommodate or provide recommendations.
Quiet nice little get away from the real world..... everything was perfect, the only thing i missed was running water. Dave was super helpful and willing to assist with anything we needed. My husband and I will be back!
Dave was very accommodating, we had everything we needed. It was the perfect get away. The cabins are very nice and he has hooked up clever ways to provide light, etc. Be aware there is no running water or electricity. We will definitely be back and will recommend these to our friends!
Adorable Woods Cabin
This cabin is tucked back into the woods on a property that lines a cow pasture. The skies were so clear we could see every star! No electric, but it does have an outhouse! I would call this private glamping!!
Very nice for primitive camping, maybe the description could use an update.
So the address listed is not the correct address to the property. Make sure to get the actual address from Dave before you get off the highway.(limited service) This is a very rustic property, more so than the description describes. The pictures taken of the cabins do not represent what we saw well. It seemed like someone loved the property at some point, but maybe is overwhelmed with its level of upkeep. The “shower tower” (written above the doorway in marker)is a shed with a tub surround placed in it, there is a car battery that you connect to a instant hot water heater via jumper cable like connections to the batteries terminal. The description of the shower facilities seems incomplete without these notes. So it wasn’t exactly the shared shower area I had anticipated, could be my expectations that were the issue. There is a broken down rusty bus by the “shower tower”. The area surrounding the cabin was littered with cigarette buts, various tools, a tow behind trailer, a large steel barrel and seemed to be a bit cluttered and un-kept. The cabin itself was comfortable during our stay. Although there was odd things, like there was an LED rope light the went around the room, someone used random pieces of trash (cardboard, splinter of wood) to jam in between the studs to be used as anchor points. There was white dog hair all over the floor, it was clearly not swept before our stay. The back wall of our cabin was on a slider, the screen placed over the opening had slack between the staples holding the screen in place. So bugs could get in through the gaps created. There’s a set of back up batteries wired in series on the table connected to a very dim red light. You turn on the light via an alligator clip to a battery terminal. There may be 30 acres of property but all of the cabins are clustered closely together, on the edge of the property close to a set of stone roads. I feel like the property would be ok if you had friends and family stay, but it is not appropriate for customers to stay. It seemed very unprofessional and hobbled together. We considered eating the cost and just staying in a motel when we finally found the place. There’s a 30 dollar wood fee for punk wood that’s wet, a 30 dollar fuel fee for a heater that wasn’t used. There is no shared kitchen, it’s an open ended structure with a bar type set up. Above the “bar” is a large image of what I can only describe as a provocative robot. If the description was accurate I wouldn’t post this
All I got from Jason via text at end of stay was "All set, thanks for the great weekend, the keys back on the nail"
The address I keep private to minimize drive thru's. A simple call or text like I usually request a day or two prior would have resolved that.
Regardless, even after reaching out to them and offering a refund , I never heard back. Granted i did find cigarette butts around the fire ring (which drives me nuts that people cant make it another foot) As far as the cabins being close that is simply not true. The only one close to them was our private cabin that is rarely occupied. They obviously wandered down to where my college age kids had some pretty creative decorating in a pavilion. I have tried to simplify the shower situation, however most guests are impressed the the ability to have a hot shower at all given no electricity in the small building for safety sake. I have also fixed the screen so bugs can not get in cabin. The lighting situation has been resolved as well.
