Very clean, bedroom was awkward to get out of if you were on the side by wall. Not too thrilled with tv in bedroom but realized there was no other wall space available. Kitchen very well stocked with cookware, ect. Lock on hot tub difficult to open, thankful we got it open while daylight. It got a little warm in bedroom even with windows open. Maybe a small ceiling fan would help. A/C in main area helped when we arrived as it was warm. It was a good getaway for us. Host was very helpful and responded to our questions in a timely manner.
Perfect sopt for a getaway! Highly Recommend if you want cozy and relaxing!
The cabin was a wonderful getaway for our 30th anniversary.Nice, quietand the hot tub was an excellent choice! Jason is a great host and made sure things went smoothly.
This cabin was super cute and even though it was not exactly far from the neighbors, it seemed surprisingly secluded. We spent most of our trip outside at the patio table, the hot tub, or up at the pergola. The ONLY thing I'd be aware of is the steps to and from the hot tub. There's zero light after dark by the hot tub area and both me & my friend fell there and stubbed toes more than once. So you might want to bring a lantern or solar light out there when you are heading to the hot tub after dark. Jason was an attentive host and was very quick with communication. We wanted to extend our stay and he was very accommodating. Everything was so cute and we really enjoyed our stay at 'Fawn Ridge'!
Disappointed, didnât feel it was worth the price. Bedroom accommodations were difficult with the large bed only accessible from one side. Several cosmetic issues; water stains, surface panels on bathroom door peeling away from door frame. Loose planks on deck sticking up at one end are a tripping hazard (see photo) and one near the front steps just rotting out. Livable but shabby.
Small cozy cabin with bonus hot tub. Everything was as described online and although older cabin everything works as designed. Great little 5 day 4 night getaway. Quiet secluded but short drive to everything shopping casinos etc.
We stayed 2 nights. Enquiring was good except jets on hot tub weren't working. Only other thing was wish TV was in living room. Very quiet and relaxing. Thank you
This was exactly what my husband and I needed to spend our 22nd anniversary. Itâs quite beautiful and very easy to get too. The cabin is small but it feels so at home. I did cook for us there, the kitchen is small but fully equipped with all you may need. The hot tub was the best part really took advantage of that! Only thing is there is a tv in the bedroom could definitely use one in the living room. But other than that our stay was PERFECT. Totally recommend this cabin!
We were looking for something small, cozy, and quiet and this fit the bill. A great home base to everything we wanted to go see. Close enough to town to be convenient, but not be in the thick of it. Lots of wildlife. Thoroughly enjoyed it!
All the pictures are accurate in describing this little cabin. I did misinterpret the location thinking it was isolated, it is not. With that being said we barely noticed any neighbors. The positives- we loved the outside view and hot tub! Lots of wildlife on our 1st day. The inside was perfect for 2 people. Cons- there is really no storage for luggage. The little closet is cramped. The bed was very uncomfortable, everyone has their own preference, but it was too soft and we did not sleep well. The bed is to big for the room making it cramped. No tv in the living room, we didn't mind. The kitchen table only had 1 chair so no eating together. You can tell the cabin is older and needs more updating. Unfortunately because its older you can tell that there may be mold which I had an terrible reaction to causing us to leave early. I have been to Ruidoso many times and never had a bad reaction to altitude so I know it wasn't that completely. With a good scrubbing, replacing some of the paneling, maybe a different bed this place could be a perfect little get away cabin. Unfortunately due to our personal experience I cant say that we would be back.
We had an absolutely great time at this cabin. The 2 amenities we wanted most was a real fireplace (not a gas or electric insert) and a hot tub. We thoroughly enjoyed both! The owner had plenty of firewood for us to use and we kept a fire going pretty much the entire stay. The only issue we had, which was very minor, was some intermittent connection issues with the WiFi, but that was no problem at all because the point of our stay was to unplug from life and enjoy Ruidoso.5/5 Stars, Will absolutely be staying here again in the future!!
Getting to cabin is a bit steep, if there was snow or ice, a 2 wheel drive would have a bit of trouble getting up. The matress needs to be replaced, to soft. Everthing else is good
I am Handicapped and there were a few things that need to be done if it is rented to HC tenants. The bed was too close to the wall on one side. One of the kitchen chairs was very wobbly and a fall hazard. The rug needs grippers since it slides around when you walk on it.The tub/shower was extremely slippery and there was no handrail. There was not a mirror for anyone that cant stand for long periods of time or stand at all. I would suggest a long mirror attached to bathroom door. No snow shovel and we had 4-5 inches of snow. The deck has a board that needs attention, it is a fall hazard. There were issues with heating and the internet. However, the owner took care of that best he could, we just lost a day of our stay. One uncomfortable issue was the TV was at the end of the bed. You had to lay down in bed to watch a movie or football game. I would suggest a smaller TV in the living room. we had to go buy a 40" TV and put it on the kitchen table. Even with these issues we had a great time and enjoyed our stay. These are mainly suggestions.
Location was quite and peaceful, deer came up around 7:00 pm. We filled the hummingbird feeder and they came thru out the day. Very pleasant and relaxing. I recommend it to everyone. đ
We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin! It was perfect for a couple and had all the necessities. We saw lots of wildlife - deer, wild horses and hummingbirds. The neighborhood was close to town but still far enough away to enjoy nature. The overlook was an added bonus.
This was a great place to stay and get a break from life for a bit. The property is in a very quiet secluded neighborhood, great for observing the local wildlife. Everything about the cabin and property was just as expected from the listing.
My husband and i loved being here. It was perfect for the two of us. Loved the view and it was close to both lakes. Alto and Grindstone as well. Hot tub worked great, and the gazebo was a short hike however the view was worth it. It had everything we needed for our stay. We loved it and it was perfect!
We bought Fawn Ridge Cabin in 2013. We love Ruidoso and ended up falling in love with the cabin. It has been remodeled and is super cute. We live in Liberty Hill, Texas and travel to Ruidoso every chance we get!
We wanted a cabin that wasn't in town and wasn't a condo. Every time we rented in Ruidoso, it seemed that is what we ended up with (in our price range). When we first looked at the cabin, we fell in love. We can't live here full time, so we thought we would rent it and let others enjoy it's beauty as well.
The cabin is on 1.1 acres and has Pine trees surrounding it. We walked to the top of the property and found the beautiful view of the Sierra Blanca mountain range. As we were enjoy the beauty, the wind was blowing and the fresh pine was just amazing.
