Charming East Jordan home 15 min to Boyne & Charlevoix! Visiting nurses discount
Our historic home is full of character and charm. Guests find it great for a multi-family vacation and cozy enough for a couple's getaway. It's been in our family for decades and we stay here often so it is well-maintained and professionally cleaned after each stay. Large home has 5 bedrooms and sleeps up to 10 people. Ask about our visiting nurses discount! The Living Room is spacious with a 13â ceiling and comfy seating for watching movies and napping. TV has Roku for logging into your own streaming accounts plus an assortment of DVDs.
Sitting Room - Relax in our sitting room with a card game and a variety of board games and puzzles for all ages. An exterior door opens to the corner porch, which is lighted at night and lovely for keeping cool in the summertime (no AC).
Two bedrooms are on main floor with queen and double beds. Three bedrooms upstairs with twin beds or bunks.
There is one full bathroom (Sorry, only one toilet in this old house! That's how they did it in the 1800s.) It includes the original clawfoot tub w/ shower but an extra shower and sink vanity is located in the laundry room for added convenience.
Quirks - "This old house" has original wood floors, very tall ceilings, cast iron registers, solid wood doors with original handles and a staircase that is creaky. Itâs the kind of house that is made for an episode of âHome Townâ on HGTV. The bathroom is in the center of the home and is a passageway from the kitchen to the middle bedroom. The master bedroom was originally a parlor room therefore there is no bedroom door. Instead, Curtains provide privacy from the sitting room. There is also no AC in the home - it is cooled the old-fashioned way but fans, newer windows in many rooms and the porch doors provide plenty of breeze.
Outside: Large corner lot with parking space for up to 4 vehicles. Covered parking for two vehicles. A large city park is across Division Street behind the house and is great for playing catch with the dog! Downtown is just a five minute walk to cafes and bars.
Great property. Perfect for our family reunion in Ellsworth. Clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Elizabeth was an excellent host. Communication was prompt and clear. Everything went smoothly.
Our visit was centered around sports activity in East Jordan with another couple who lived near Charlevox, and this lovely home was perfect! Well stocked and very comfortable. The floors were not all squeaky, and the porches were very homey - from a past era of neighborhoods. Thank you for sharing your home!!
Great location! Adorable town, close to everything we needed. Home is well organized and the space is used well. Communication with the owner was easy and smooth. We went to Charlevoix, rented a pontoon with M&K marine to cruise up Torch Lake, walked to dinner at the pub and walked to grab coffee in the morning. Location was quiet and close to everything!
Dating back to the 1870s, our home is one of East Jordanâs first, built during the hay days of the lumber era. We believe the second story originally may have been used as a boarding house, with the ownerâs residence on the first floor.
It is well cared for and has been uniquely maintained to reflect its history while accommodating modern living conveniences.
