NEW SDVR LISTING! Oceanfront Penthouse Condo with Stunning Views, a Sprawling Oceanfront Patio with Gas Grill & Dining, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, and Spacious Garage
We had a very good time the unit was great right on the boardwalk right in the middle of everything we come to mission every July with family and always have a great time
Robbery plus multiple issues make this a NO STAY for any families who want to enjoy the San Diego
We entered the property and it has a great view but is very dated and dark inside. Even though AC was advertised, it was broken. So we slept with windows open and were robbed!!! We reported to the police who said the owners were not worried about renters safety with the worn out locks and no screens on the windows. We called the property manager who told us to sleep with all windows closed and no AC!!!!
The list goes on⊠the refrigerator didnât work so we lost all our food for the first day- they did fix it but no offer to pay for the loss. The shower didnât work, they fixed that 5 days in, the microwave was broken, and the toaster oven which they did replace and finally we had a guy fixing the outside grill for half a day Friday. I felt like I was their property manager orchestrating all the repair men to fix everything.
Just an awful experience with the property manager continuously saying we arenât legally obligated to make it safe or have things work. She said she called the owners and they werenât willing to provide even a one night comp for a two eeek stay.!!!!!!
Avoid at all costs. Unless you want to be unsafe and to manage all the repairmen coming and going.
The location was on point for what we were looking for. The views were amazing. Also, being able to watch the kids from our porch or while cooking gave us peace of mind.
There were minor inconveniences upon arrival. No AC, which we were notified of, not big deal once we opened up windows and the doors. Having to rewash towels, dishes, was not what we expected to tend to once we settled in.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and made more memories.
San Diego is all about managing expectations. If you book a house expecting the Four Seasons, you are gonna be disappointed. Beach properties are usually a collection of under-sized, well-used, high-volume rental houses, with minimal upkeep and just enough comfort to keep you from writing a negative review. In short, you're not there for the house, and the owners and property managers know this. So, when you rent an ocean front (on boardwalk) property and pay a premium you should also have the expectation that the property provides minimalistic necessities but million-dollar views and that's what we expected.
This property was actually better than our expectations. It was really clean upon arrival. The access is as promised. The garage was nice and very clean, albeit cramped with nothing wider than a Honda Pilot-sized vehicle accommodations. The bedrooms were nice and clean, the beds always a tad on the cheap and uncomfortable side. The appliances in the kitchen are old and outdated and ugly, but again, we aren't there for that and they know it. The last three SDO vacation houses actually supplied olive oil, foil, napkins, beach towels, salt and pepper and a host of spices cause it's such a pain to buy or bring your own - but this house did not. And even though we knew that going in, it still sucked. The BBQ appliance actually is very nice and works better than most rentals and is natural gas so no worry of replacing tanks. The showers were excellent w great pressure and temperatures. The AC was so welcomed as we had near-record heat during the day. But make no mistake this property wins because of its location and the accordion (pocket) doors that open the entire length of the living room. Those doors were open almost the entire time we were home and they made the small unit feel much larger than it is. Having such doors open wide means that you not only feel the ocean breezes throughout the house but you also hear the crashing waves pretty much 24-7. It is a whole new experience to beachfront living. And one that I will look for from now on. It was that cool.
So we stayed a week. Enjoyed the entire house thoroughly. Could it have been bigger? Could it have been better equipped? Could it have been more comfortable? Yes of course. But that's not why you are there and they know that. Just temper your expectations and you will love it. This property, by San Diego standards, was excellent.
Management was available if needed, professional and friendly. Couldn't ask for better service. Very nice set up and furnishings.
can't wait to go back
If you are a customed to life on the beach and or needing a week away to relax in a great location. This is the place. 8min walk to Belmont Park, food and shops. We rented a Golf cart to drive around town to Pacific Beach. The board walk is alive with happy people doing fun things to watch like skating, biking, etc. Surfers are all over the water with playful dophins.
All the Tvs are smart so access to streaming. Great little house on the beach. Fits 6 people comfortably.
Walls peeling, ripped/threadbare linens, rusty appliances, sinks clogged, light fixtures filled with hundreds of flies, filthy rugs, and cinder block walls. Ugh! Owners also started demo on the floors above us at 7am on our final day without our consent (a few hours ' notice). So bad and so expensive.
Great location, not a fancy unit, its all about the beach. Honestly my only issue was the weather... first time I was hailed on in San Diego! Also be warned a full size truck is a tight fit in the garage. But parking a truck anywhere in San Diego is a challenge.
It would have been nice to have shampoo and at least a hair dryer. The pillows and sheets were awful. Microwave didnât works for very sandy on patio, should have been sprayed off before we came. Check in was at 3:00 wasnât ready till 3:30
Exceptional views located on the beach. Great patio to share family dinners or morning coffee. We are a family of 5 and this beach house provided everything we needed.
We had a few hiccups but felt that the rental company was very quick to respond. We were disappointed to find construction going on next door when we hadnât been alerted to that. Home is small, but patio and ocean views/access make up for it. The place was pretty clean and we enjoyed our stay. It was so nice to have AC at night when the house was all closed up.
I actually switched my rental to a bigger place and they accommodate me
Manager is amazing , very responsive
Place was very clean
Great location , had the best time ever
I will definitely rent it again
Our family has been coming to Mission Beach for over 20 years. We absolutely loved staying on the ground floor of the Copper House. While not entirely spacious, being able to open the sliding glass doors made it comfortable for all of us. We will definitely be coming back!
This was such a great property! We had 4 adults and 3 kids, and it was the perfect size. Mitch Bart from Bill Luther made everything so easy. We will definitely come back to this house! We miss it already!
