I will definitely hope to stay here again when plans bring me back to the area. The place is well-located, impeccably clean, and had everything I needed. There are a few things to know; there are steps to get to the unit, so itâs not ADA friendly. If you are a group of two or more, be aware there is only enough hot water for one shower; youâll have to negotiate timing with your fellow travelers. Also, you have no control over the thermostat; I would have preferred to choose my own comfort level. Also, the cooktop is great, but I had to find the manual online to figure out how to use it. Maybe it would be intuitive for younger people. Itâs such a great place, none of these things was a deal-breaker for me. I just want folks to know what to expect.
Very difficult to find. Passed it several times. House numbers not visible from busy road. A different house on road frontage was unkept. The VRBO was way in the back of 3 buildings. Stove was locked so could not use. Very limited towels. (2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, 1 facecloth). No extra trash bags 1 only. When contacted she send a teammate to unlock cabinets for extra supplies. There was none in one cabinet and she could not unlock the other cabinet so she had go to her house and get them. No ice cube trays but 1 mini cube tray. Temperature was freezing with no ability to change it, there was a ziplock tie on control. Obviously not very trusting of her guests. It would have been helpful to know where grocery stores were. Only positive was it was clean inside the house and good directions for transit.
This was the perfect location to visit nearby family. The house was perfect, so clean and cozy. Maria was an excellent host, so quick to communicate. I will recommend this home to family and would not hesitate to stay again for a future visit.
This place was perfect for our trip! It was so cozy and tucked away from main traffic, but close to a ton of cool places to visit. The owners keep it supplied with everything you need if thereâs just the two of you looking to visit the areas for a while. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay!
Perfect location- Close to everything. Unit was clean and had everything you could need for a comfortable stay. Owner was helpful and easy to communicate with. Check-in, unit access and parking were a breeze.
The property was as described. It's small but had all amenities we needed! It's close to a bus stop which made using the public transportation system very simple. We checked out a couple great locally owned restaurants that were nearby as well!
The guesthouse is cozy, roomy and clean, well equipped with all necessary supplies. Maria is a very responsive and respectful host. I'd recommend to stay here to explore Silver Spring and D.C.
This guesthouse was truly cozy. I stayed alone and felt very comfortable and safe. It had everything I needed. Maria was responsive to my questions and requests.
Les points faibles : Communication, emplacement, exactitude de lâannonce
Unwelcoming stay
Parking is not labeled and confusing. Outside is unkempt. It is right on an EXTREMELY BUSY ROAD! The hot water lasts 5 minutes. You can't change the thermostat by yourself. It's locked and you are unable to even see what the current temperature is inside. When I complained about the hot water and explained that they wouldn't be getting a 5 star review ( I only answered because they asked), they tried to bribe me by offering me 1 day reimbursement in exchange for a 5 star review. Sorry, that's not how I operate.
Nice, private stay with clear instructions easy access. 30-45 minutes from downtown DC considering low speed limits traffic, but in walkable area with parks. Offstreet parking is definite plus. Guest house is smaller than it appears in pics, but very clean and has everything you might need despite its simplicity. Owner explained shower only has 15-20 minutes worth of hot water after we found out via a cold shower due to leaving the water running while prepping - reality is there's only 5-10 minutes worth of hot water before it begins to cool, so be aware. Seating in living space is adequate but not most comfortable, and TV in bedroom struggles to get signal. A cheap but pleasant stay that gets the job done!
This is a very comfortable and convenient location to dining and major highways, we stayed here for 30 Days while waiting on our home to be finished and it did not disappoint, was more than enough space. Love all the special touches to ensure you have what you need. My wife loved the stove and oven for her kitchen away from home. We would definitely recommend this cozy location and would stay here again if need be. Thanks Maria for always being there for everything from checking in to minor request. We appreciate your attentive and prompt responses. Truly enjoyed our stay!
We stayed here for 2 weeks. We've stayed in a number of the converted basement units that are common in the area, and it was really nice to be above ground and have lots of light from the many windows.
The place was spotless and the host was very responsive. Furniture was comfortable, kitchen was well outfitted although the place isn't really suitable for doing any extensive cooking; the small 2-burner cooktop can't fit more than one large pan at once, and the under-counter oven isn't the most convenient way to make morning toast, but for making simple meals we had everything we needed. Other reviews mentioned issues with hot water, but we never ran out.
One downside is that you don't have the ability to control the AC yourself, so we always had to message the host whenever we needed the temperature adjusted, but she always responded quickly. The biggest downside for us was that there was an error in the listing, saying there was a queen bed when in fact it's just a double, and that's really too small for us. I think that's been corrected now.
The place is located on a busy large street, but this particular unit is set well back from the street so we weren't ever aware of road noise. There's shopping, restaurants, and a nice park nearby.
The everything was fine except the bed. It was too small for 2 slightly taller than average adults to comfortably sleep in. The mattress was uncomfortable and the bed frame squeaked with minimal movement so that we woke each other up all night. Would strongly recommend upgrading the bed.
My mom and I really enjoyed the place. Very clean and quiet space. Very centrally located near most of everything we needed. Will stay again when back in DC
Thank you
