Traffic noise was incredibly loud, I was advised that might be some light traffic noise but it was a lot more than light. Definitely need a SUV on account of the drive way.No barbecue for outside cooking. Fireplace and washing machine was out of order. Only found out about that 2 days before traveling. Wyfy spotty.

Great short getaway

My partner and I stayed one night after attending a wedding and it was perfect for our stay, the cabin was clean and well-cared for and even though we were close to the interstate you couldn’t tell for the most part. I would definitely stay again!

It was right next to loud highway on a down hill turn. Tractor trailers hitting their loud Jake brakes all night long. They only disclosed that it was near a highway once you rent it. While we were there trying to relax they decided it would be a good idea to come to property and use their chain saw to cut up wood and the bring over a tractor to put down new gravel and grate road. The inside of the cabin was nice. It need a deep clean to deal with cobwebs though.

Simple and easy getaway!

Love this cabin! Super cute, and had everything we needed! Plan to stay here again in the future! Hot tub was pleasant! The hill to get to the cabin was a little rough, but we have a truck so it was fine for us! Other than that! Definitely recommend a stay here, the hosts were amazing and great with communication! The location is also great to get to the hiking trails and general stores! Thank you so much!

The listing is much nicer than the reality

First thing I was unhappy about was the driveway up to the property. It was extremely difficult to get to the property and I drive an AWD Chevy blazer. I was stuck multiple times. Also had a flat tire upon checking out.Then the listing states “sleeps 6”, it truly only sleeps 4 comfortably A 5th could sleep on the tiny couch I guess. We only had 4 but just making future guests aware, this place only sleeps 4.The cabin itself is beautiful,I wish we would have been more secluded, you can hear the highway perfect, no different from living in the city. Overall we made the best of it!

Good stay for one night

The cabin was mostly clean and was nice looking overall. There were some functionality issues given the state of the driveway and lack of outdoor furniture. The driveway was steep and absolutely required FWD, but the issue we had was with the state of the gravel. There were massive potholes up and down it that made getting up the hills on it much more difficult even with the SUV we had. The outside of the cabin is pretty rundown and there was quite a bit of mold on the ceiling above the hot tub that was concerning. The aesthetic of the cabin on the inside was great and communication with the hosts was also great, but the functionality was just okay. The driveway made it difficult to go anywhere once arrived and there were no activities within the cabin outside of one tv. The couch was very stained all over making it somewhat uncomfortable to sit on if those types of things bother you. The mold above the hot tub could have been inside as well, as the bathroom does not have a fan and there was quite a bit of humidity built up in it from the weather and ADL, so if you have a severe allergy to mold as I do this is something to be aware of. The bed in the back room was also so extremely squeaky that my fiancé and I (who are average size) were awake throughout the night. Any time you moved it felt like the bed frame was going to break. Again the cabin was satisfactory for one night, but there are some things to be aware of given how much it costs and the travel likely involved.

Great property

We had a great stay at Alpine Hills. The location was a short drive to both Red River Gorge and the town of Stanton. The house itself was CLEAN and comfortable. The hot tub is maintained weekly, so it operated perfectly. The kitchen had all needed appliances and gadgets. The view the front porch was beautiful (lots of close trees, but a gorgeous vista beyond).A few notes of suggestion:The driveway is VERY steep and truly requires 4WD. It was intimidated for us urbanites, but you can do it too!The bed in the back bedroom was very squeaky (we are also larger people, which may be a factor). Luckily we slept hard after hiking every day, so it wasn't a big deal. But light sleepers might want to take heed.Also, the laundry facilities were less than ideal. The washer didn't spin at all, so laundry was still sopping wet after draining. It also didn't seem to agitate well either, because one load had to be rinsed 3 times to get the detergent out. Previous tenants/cleaners also failed to clean the lint trap (like, in a reeeeally long time) so at first the dryer didn't work either. After removing several inches of lint, we were back in business. Tenants/cleaners just might need a gentle reminder to clean it out in the future.Lastly, adding a few kitchen basics like aluminum foil, parchment, even ketchup and butter would be great (if allowed by law).None of these issues would prevent me from staying there again or recommending it to others. Just food for thought for upgrades.

This is what I sent the owners in the end....Hello,Yes, we left this morning. The stay was ok. We had a few issues. The ceiling fan in the bedroom to the left will not stay on without the light. The remote doesn't work. The freezer bottom drawer has something sticky in it. I'm not sure what it is. The bed to the left is extremely uncomfortable. The ceiling fan above the kitchen table has a loud tick in it. I believe it needs greased. There is no light in the parking area. That caused some tripping. The rain did come and made the front porch stairs extremely slippery. My significant other slipped down them. The driveway hooked one of my tires in a rut. Truck like mine would survive, but a car wouldn't. I did hear mice in the walls. Other than that stuff, everything was fine. We barely had a few hours sleep a night because of the bed though. Boot camp was more comfortable.
