Bedroom with large master bath. Lockoff room with private front entrance. Kayak, swim, or bring your paddleboard or boat. Feed the ducks and enjoy the Egrets and Eagles. Use the front or back stone patios to relax or sit on the dock for splendid sunsets. Closeby beach and Association Pavillion is avialable or use our private Lakefront. Off street parking, very safe and quiet. Master bathroom with whirlpool tub / shower. High speed internet for TV or business. Beautiful flowers in the summer, Fall Foliage is spectacular and multiple ski areas nearby. With the provided mini fridge and microwave / airfryer why stay in a small hotel room? There are many Hiking trails including the Appalachian and also one by a stream within 1 mile. Close to all Berkshire attractions such as Tanglewood, Jacobs Pillow, Norman Rockwell museum, Mass MOCA, Mount Greylock, Etc,

Rich and Maureen are awesome people! The property is beautiful, but older guests may want to think twice. The access to the water involves very steep, multiple flights of stairs, and getting to the home itself can be challenging if mobility is limited. It’s a lovely place, just not the easiest for anyone who has difficulty with stairs or prefers easier access.

The place is exactly as advertised: quiet room, terrific sunsets on the lake and much more. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake and going to tanglewood that is just a 30 minutes drive from there. Rich is a wonderful host.

Had a great 3-day experience and would return. For clarity, this is a single room with a sleeper sofa bed, mini fridge, and 2 chairs. Accommodations are minimal, however location is fantastic for the beauty of the outdoors.

Beautiful property. Friendly hosts. Stocked with everything you should need. Plenty of outdoor space to enjoy the scenic surroundings. I recommend staying at Rich's place.

Slice of heaven

Rich is more than a Super Host! We were welcomed personally upon arrival and given a tour of the property and grounds. Nestled in lush nature, the view of the lake while rocking in the swinging bench is breathtaking. Very clean and comfortable accommodations.

Great place in the Berkshirea.

It was the short weekend runaway we needed and were looking forward to. It's a quick ride to Pittsfield but we decided to cross the border to Manchester, VT. The place was as described, quiet, clean, secluded but easy to find. The Lake was fantastic but, due to weather, decided against taking the kayaks out. Perhaps next time. Thanks to Rich for being a great and gracious host!

The property is right on a beautiful lake as advertised. The host is very friendly and cares about his property and his guests. Pros include brand new towels, lots of soaps and shampoo, spacious bathroom, good hot water supply, outdoor seating areas and use of kayaks. Cons are a pull-out sofa to sleep on with a very very soft mattress. Also the host family can be heard in the next room most mornings.

Basic hotel room experience. Comfy bed! Great shower. I only slept there, so I can’t comment on the lake or deck area. Only thing - I could hear their TV through the wall but it didn’t bother me!

Rainy weather but warm and cozy place.

It was exactly as we hoped and expected. Warm, cozy, clean, lovely decor. Didn’t really get to enjoy the very welcoming porch and patio with view of the lake because of the weather . . .maybe next time!

Great Lake Room/Home Getaway with a Lovely Sunset!

If you’re looking for a nice quiet place to get away, look no further! Rich and Maureen have a lovely home right on the water. They have a two person kayak and some personal kayaks for you to use. The jacuzzi tub was a very nice touch and my wife very much enjoyed! The room you stay in is connected to the main home however it truly is private, as well as having your own private entrance, you will hear the tv from time to time but honestly it didn’t bother at all. Rich and Maureen were great host and gave great recommendations! We will definitely be back!

Gorgeous property with lake access! The owner, Rich, is very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. It’s on a private street with almost no traffic, and it’s mostly very quiet.There are several steps to get down to the private dock, so keep in mind that you will have to go back up the stairs. It’s worth it! The lake is pristine!We loved sitting on the front porch, watching the hummingbirds at the feeder. The front garden is beautiful.This might be a “me” issue of not fully reading the property details, but when searching for stays it’s labeled as a “full house”, whereas it’s a guest suite in a house. It has its own entrance and bathroom, though. The bathtub with jets is a wonderful perk! As others have mentioned, you can hear the television in the main house, so you might want to bring a noise machine or music to drown it.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and wish we had taken more advantage of the lake and the kayaks! We would absolutely book again!

35 mins from Tanglewood

Our accommodations at Richard and Maureen’s on Lake Ashmere in Hindsdale were just right for an overnight stay for our first visit to see James Taylorcat Tanglewood. We were pleased with the quiet one-bedroom location on the lake. Richard greeted us in person and pointed out where we could take in the lake views which included the use of his kayaks. Our room (attached to Richard’s house-w/a private entrance offered a comfortable bed, couch, tv (w/Amazon and You Tube tv) microwave, mini refrigerator, coffee pot w/coffee and cream and a large bathroom w/tiled shower and 2 sinks. It was so nice to be off the beaten-path (tucked away in the super quiet association neighborhood and away from the noise pollution of cars and trucks that travel tte busy main road close to our house back home. Loved waking up and going down to the dock to sit by the lake, have coffee and watch for Eagles. Towels,linens and soap were provided along w/plenty of brochures for what to do in the area. A hidden gem! We will definitely keep Richard’s place in mind for future trips to tte Berkshires!

My husband and I spent a wonderful summer weekend staying at this quiet, off-the-beaten-track room. The ability to relax on the porch or on the private dock (and on the water) is an experience far superior than any hotel stay. Rich was the consummate host, gracious, caring, easily accessible, and open to sharing activities to enjoy in the area. We stayed here to attend a few Tanglewood concerts, but there's so much to do and see in and around Hinsdale. We look forward to returning.

Lumpy mattress should be replaced. The shower was not easy to get in and out of Should be advertised as not suitable for older adults. Not handicap accessible.No paper napkins. The TV was difficult to operate. The views were incredible and it was very peacefulI liked the host and his wife.

The queen bed is new. I believe the guest maybe feeling the foam topper for comfort. The shower is in a standard size tub which is also a whirlpool. I believe the tub height is per a standard by code. The TV is new and the instructions are on the welcome sheet plus they were explained to the guest upon arrival. Like many new tvs, you select the App for regular tv, Netflix, or prime. All other guests have never had a problem navigating the tv remote. If there was any confusion I would have gone over the remote use again. I really try to accommodate all guests.

I was the host for a Bed and Breakfast in Lenox ma. for about 8 years until retiring at my beautiful home on Lake Ashmere in Hinsdale, Ma. It very interesting to meet new people and to be able to share this pristine location with others.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

very quiet, safe and fantastic sunsets. In the winter I can even snowmobile from my dock to the highest mountain in Ma, or head north about 12 miles to Vermont.
