Profitez de tout ce que les Berkshires ont à vous offrir depuis ce magnifique cottage isolé situé au bord de l’eau, au bord de l’eau, sur 2 hectares de terrain boisé. Parfait pour les familles ou les couples. Nagez, pêchez ou naviguez dans la cour. (Canoë, kayak et gilet de sauvetage fournis.) Explorez le flux qui traverse la propriété. Pique-nique au bord de l'eau ou détente sur le pont. Faire un feu dans le foyer et manger s'mores. Vous pouvez également vous asseoir au bord du lac et écouter les bruits de la nature tout en sentant le chaud soleil sur votre visage. Très privé - juste un voisin proche. The house is certainly comfortable but the bug selling points for us were the beautiful decks, the lawns, the lake and the dock. They made the stay just fantastic.

Perfect hideaway in Becket

Clearly the owner of this property takes pride in his property. The place was immaculate, the small lake was beautiful, with plenty of fun to be had kayaking and fishing. We have been to the Berkshires many times, but not to Becket - which is as peaceful as could be but still close to all the area has to offer. This property has everything you could want for a peaceful weekend away - everything as advertised and more. Thank you!!

Lovely place to get away

We enjoyed our trip! Nice common area for everyone to hang out, fully stocked kitchen, comfy bedrooms, 2 full baths, a cozy wood-burning stove, nice deck with grill, and gorgeous lake / river views on property.

Beautiful lake and retreat

Our family of 2 kids and 2 adults spent a wonderful fall weekend at this clean, well furnished, spacious home on the lake. The kids and grown ups enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding on the perfectly sized lake right off the backyard. We hiked at the local quarry and at night roasted marshmallows in the backyard fire pit under a starry sky. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone looking for peace, quiet and nature with waaaaay better accommodations than a tent!

A bit of a challenge to locate, very remote, dirt and winding roads, pitch black at night so not conducive to being away from property, basic but functional decor, very clean and comfortable sleeping quarters, best to bring all your own major food items; definitely a location for those younger and physically able. Truly beautiful and quiet.

Perfect house

This is a perfect house, great location, clean, has everything you need and nothing you don't. We stayed in winter, but I imagine it is a real retreat in summer when you can make a full use of the lake. Would love to come back.

wonderful summer retreat

The house and neighborhood was a perfect peaceful summer retreat from city life. It was a lovely week by the lake with my wife, son, and dog. The house was charming and clean. The natural environment on and surrounding the property is perfect. I loved falling asleep listening to the sounds of the brook. Enjoyed both swimming and fishing in the lake. The check in and check out process was easy. Would definitely book again.

Before School Getaway!!

This place! Quiet little lake in the middle of nowhere and it was great!! Fully equipped with everything you need to get away. We fully enjoyed taking multiple trips out on the lake with the kayaks and Canoe, Fishing off the private dock and roasting s’mores over the well built fire pit right by the water with comfortable chairs to sit and relax. We also enjoyed sitting on the deck looking over the water and watching for passing wild life! A brook running along side of the property makes for a mini adventure looking for frogs and beavers living close by. My Family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in Becket!

Quiet retreat

If you are looking for a quiet place to get away from it all, this is it! The house had everything we needed. It was myself, my husband, our three month old, and two dogs. The lake was a huge hit with my husband and dogs (although it was still a little too chilly for me). My husband used the water toys throughout the trip. The neighborhood is very quiet and beautiful. Surrounded by woods right off the scenic highway. Highly recommend!!

Perfect!

Everything about our stay was amazing! The house was beautiful and spotless and felt so welcoming. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking full meals. We loved taking the kayaks and canoe out every day and found the canoe easier to navigate with the paddles (one sided) and life jackets are provided. The deck and back yard are tranquil hang out places. We enjoyed walking around the forest neighborhood — it was quiet and lovely. We walked to the Sherwood shoppes for breakfast — delish food and the host was so kind. I could not have asked for a better get away and we look forward to a return visit. Everything was 5+++ stars!

Outstanding Accommodation on Short Notice

A nice, private, clean, relaxing gem. We contacted Larry regarding availability the day before we wanted to check in. He responded immediately and made All the preparations for us. He provided clear instructions for everything at the property. We Arrived and were not disappointed. Everything you need is right here. You’re remote enough to have peace and privacy and close enough to get to all major area attractions within 30 - 45 minutes. We highly recommend Larry and this wonderful property. Thank you for the outstanding customer service.

Perfect family vaca

Just got back today from our lovely time in the Berkshires. The house is great- pictures could use updating to show that There is a gorgeous new dock, platform with two beautiful loungers and table, large new fire pit, canoe, paddle board, and kayak. Owner very responsive with ?’s I had before our trip. Second floor is perfection with a gorgeous bathroom and big fluffy towels. Beds very comfortable with nice quality linens. Lake was great with many beavers swimming to and from the dam. So cool to watch from the kayak and canoe at a safe distance of course. Also lovely that our sweet golden retriever was able to join us/ big bonus! Grocery stores, restaurants and outlets an easy 20 min drive. Internet not very fast Tv had tons of channels and we brought a lot of our old school DVD’s to watch So fun!

A nice weekend getaway

The house is bigger than it looks like, clean and very nice overall. The ignition on the grill wasn't working, and Larry was very responsive as for the location of the lighters. It started raining, and I didn't end up using the grill after all, so can't comment on that further. If you're coming with kids, and each one of them wants to stream their own movie, the WiFi in this place won't handle that. Helps with bonding actually... but be aware that the internet can hold one-two devices but hardly more. Bottom line, a very nice place for a spontaneous weekend family getaway, definitely recommended. Will consider it for a longer stay in a warmer weather.

A quiet fun getaway!

This place has everything you need and then some. Plenty of backyard for the dog to run around and burn off energy. After a nice day enjoying the outdoors, relaxing by the fireplace is the icing on the cake. Will hopefully look into booking this property during the summer.

Awesome Autumn Getaway

My husband and I (late 50s and early sixties) and his parents (lively mid eighties) and our 15 month old German Shepherd stayed here for two nights. The tree colors were spectacular, especially when reflected in the lake. The mist on the lake in the mornings was gorgeous. We found the bedrooms comfortable and the living room and dining table were perfect for four. Our pup LOVED the yard and the lake. As our daughter lives in the area, we will likely be back.

Great weekend getaway

We had a wonderful time at this property. It was exactly as described and the info given in advance was very thorough. We took some of the host’s recommendations for food and hiking and both were excellent. The foliage on the lake was beautiful and my children loved the kayaks. They were already asking when we could come back!

Quiet and beautiful location in the Berkshires

The house is in good shape with some nice upgrades. The location is great with a small pond / lake behind the house to give you a taste of what the Berkshires has to offer. The area is in close proximity (within 15 minutes) of ski slopes, Tanglewood and Kirpalu. There is a great little breakfast place in the neighborhood as well that is within walking distance.

Sherwood Forest Fun

Our stay at Sherwood Forest did not disappoint. The property was comfortable and nicely appointed. We especially enjoyed the back decks morning, noon and night. Larry was a very communicative host and provided helpful info to facilitate our stay. Hope to return to the beautiful trees and lake there sometime.

Beautiful! Property

If you enjoy nature, peace and quiet you will love this lake house! It’s like camping in a house 😁. You can fall asleep listening to a babbling brook and enjoy the beaver show in the evening. The house living room isn’t the biggest but there is Plenty of room on the outside deck and spacious lawn with a great lounging/sunning deck. The younger visitors will enjoy exploring the brook and using the water crafts to explore the lake. We didn’t fish but I bet it’s tons of fun too. Just be sure to bring bug spray for yourself and your 4 legged members. The surrounding area is great for nature lovers, quant dining, and shopping. The owner was very responsive to any questions. I bet if you visit this property, like us, you won’t want to leave. We hope we will be able to go back again next year.

Relaxing lakeside retreat

We spent a relaxing family weekend here. The property is exactly as listed if not better! Spacious, clean, and extremely well-managed. Communication was clear and efficient. The property was spotless and all beds were comfortable including the sofa bed. The deck attached to the property is spacious; there is a Weber grill, table chairs plus seating to relax. Becket is as described - a wooded area with similar properties scattered throughout. A bonus of waking up to a deer coming down to the lakeside to take an early morning drink. Jetty is great and we had fun in the kayaks. Short drive to large supermarket at Lee and Lenox a little further. Local shop too!

I own and manage this house with my wife. We have had long careers in law and criminal justice. We are also parents of grown children. I have owned and managed vacation property since 1990, including the most frequently reviewed property on the entire island Martha's Vineyard (#105302). I travel a lot and strive to have my rentals be the kind of place I would want to stay in myself.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

The Berkshires is a cultural and recreational mecca. There is so much to see and do here in the Summer. This property while so close to many attractions, makes you feel that like you are hundreds of miles away from civilization (There are 4 other houses on the lake, but we rarely see anyone else). In the Fall there is incredible foliage everywhere. In Winter it is a place for quiet and reflection. Living in Boston, these were very attractive attributes for a getaway spot. The lake, stream and large back yard make this a place for us relax, reflect, and recharge. The kids love the lake and wildlife which they do not get to enjoy in the city. The property was well built by its owner at the time. We added a second floor with more rooms and a full bath when we purchased it.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

We think this is a unique property. Sitting on the dock and looking out over the private lake is a calming sensation. Sitting on the porch, even in the rain under the porch ceiling, and looking at the lake and surrounding forest, is a great experience. The house has a wood stove for the winter. It is close to many of the area's Summer attractions (only 5 minutes from the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival) yet almost feels like it is the middle of nowhere.
