The Stone House is a charming home located in a residential area, yet close enough to Fish Creek's shops, fine restaurants, and galleries. Walk to the Door Community Auditorium to see your favorite National Act perform, or the Peninsula School of Arts to take a class or view the art in the Guenzel Gallery. The Peninsula Players, the countrie's oldest outdoor theatre is 2 miles away. Have your morning coffee out on the deck, or relax infront of a camp fire making smores around our fire pit. The entrance to Peninsula State Park is less than 2 miles away with breath taking views of the water, islands, stone bluffs, with miles of hiking and biking trails, and a great handicapped accessible tower to climb. Definately take in a Door County Trolley tour, or a scenic boat tour during your stay!
Our 3-night stay at The Stone House was perfect! The property is stunning, and the house is very cute, homey and had all the amenities, even ones I wasnât expecting, like make up removers in the bathroom and little scissors in case you needed them. We didnât spend a lot of time outside as it was low 50âs, but I wish I could have enjoyed the backyard more, it is really beautiful. They have a great fire pit and lots of wood. The heating inside was a bit inconsistent, so I would have to turn up the thermostat and then down several times a day, but it was minor, they had lots of blankets to keep us warm. The beds were very comfortable too. One of the queen beds is on wheels on a hardwood floor, so you need to be careful about that . I definitely recommend staying at The Stone House!
Everything exceptionally clean! Plenty of space to put our things in bedroom and kitchen. All beds very comfortable, including pillows. Plenty of driveway space. Ramp up to deck, 3 steps onto deck, 2 steps into house. Easy for seniors. Plenty of light. Power cords, clothes hangers and luggage racks in bedrooms. It is clear much thought went into preparing for guests. Bathrooms newer, bars to grab for safety, step in shower in master bedroom. Washer /dryer right off kitchen. Good location, easy access to main highways. Trees around property absolutely beautiful with Fall color the week of our stay. Would absolutely stay here again.
Fantastic location, close to Fish Creek/Ephraim and Peninsula State Park. Perfect place for a weekend Mother/Daughters trip. Plenty of room for everyone, the house was spotless and we had everything we needed. Would definitely stay again.
We love staying at the Stone house. Nice deck for coffee in the mornings. Short walk to the downtown Fish Creek area with lots of dinning options, and right on County road F which makes for easy access to other areas of northern door county.
The Stone House is just perfect and is very charming!!! It is very spacious, very clean, and has everything you need! Having 2 full bathrooms is an added perk!!! It was also very quiet and yet you were close to everything! Carla and Jay did a wonderful job communicating with us and the week we spent there was fantastic. I highly recommend this property. We will be back in the future!
Well kept, clean and well supplied with towels, linens, TP, Kleenex and dishes. Plenty of space and very comfortable. Everything Fish Creek is within walking distance. We loved our stay at the Stone House.
We had a wonderful time staying at the Stone House in Fish Creek. The location is ideal, the setting is beautiful, and the house felt like home. All our needs were anticipated and furnished. Thank you!
Thank you Jay and Carla for the use of your home!!! We were so comfortable as it had every amenity we could ask for. And it was so clean. I loved that it was centrally located to all the other areas and there was so much to do. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. We definitely will be staying here again in the future. One recommendation I would make is to have a more detailed explanation on how to use the TV system. It was hard to navigate. Thank you for helping us navigate our problem with the closed caption. Thank goodness we were too tired in the evening to really watch. Again, thanks for your hospitality.
The Stone House was a perfect place for our Ladies Weekend. Clean, well appointed, thoughtful outdoor spaces. Walking distance to downtown Fish Creek and easy access to area attractions. Donât miss one of the local fish boils. We had a great time!!
This is our second stay at the Stone House. The set up is perfect for two couples or two small families. The location of the beds and baths allow for great privacy for all. The property had everything we needed and was very comfortable. The home is immaculate! We really enjoyed the large porch, too. Close to restaurants, shops and Door Co activities but located in a lovely, quiet area. We had also stayed at another property offered by these hosts. We highly recommend staying at both of their properties. Super hosts!
Our family has stayed in this area for many years and the Stone House had a nice living space and a place for my granddaughters and play. The house was clean and we enjoyed staying there.
Home was so comfy ! It had everything you needed in the home to make dinner's, grilling and a fire pit for s mores:) Location was perfect for walking or biking into Penn State Park and shopping in Fish Creek! We would definitely stay again! Thanks Carla and Jay!!
My husband Jay and I are Fish Creek residents, and love renovating properties! HGTV is one of our favorite shows. The Stone House is our second rental home. We have had Cedarwood/#182426, also in Fish Creek, for seventeen years now. We enjoy the opportunity to share our home with our guests, and make their Door County Vacation Land getaway a memorable one. We aim to anticipate guest's needs, and go about furnishing them. We reside in Fish Creek, and believe this is very important to our guests in case they have any questions, are looking for suggestions, or if any problems should arise.
Location, location, location! We are located in a residential area, yet close to the hustle and bustle of downtown. When you are ready to relax and unwind after a day of activities, The Stone House awaits you. Wildlife frequently comes through the yard as we are in close proximity to Peninsula State Park. For the last two years, Momma doe brings her spotted fawn through the yard! This year she had one, and last year she had two!
My father Buck hand cut all of the Lannon stone that you see on our home. His father Henry was a mason, and did much of the beautiful stonework that you see throughout town, the old stone fences on Cottage Row (often referred to Millionare's Row), to the walls and bench at Sunset Park. The wood to build the original part of our home came from my father and uncle's land on Chambers Island, which is the largest Island that you see when looking at the bay. He brought the wood over on the ice, and had it milled up on the mainland for construction of our home. Also, there are two TV viewing areas, so the kids can watch a movie, while the adults relax and watch their favorite show.
