We had a wonderful stay at this property! We were there to stargaze at Cherry Springs state park and this house was a short 15-minute drive. We were able to stay up late at the park and drive back quickly when we were done.Inside the home is beautiful and very comfortable! They provide everything you need. The kitchen had everything you needed for cooking and cleaning, the bathroom had a few choices of bath products and plenty of towels and the bedrooms were nicely furnished with sheets and pillows. Jenn is a wonderful host and was there on the property to help if needed. All of the information for the Wifi and phone number were left to get us going. The only reason I gave this a four instead of a five was the front porch of the property left a little to be desired and needs some attention. The front screen door was very dirty and broken. We were there on two very unusually hot days there and the air condition had a little trouble keeping up. One more window unit in the second bedroom would have been perfect. Lastly, the listing gave the impression that this was a house and not a on a property of other cabins. There wasn't a yard to sit in, the back of the property was a stoned round about driveway where the cars for other cabins were parked. Then the cabins were all in a line facing the house. I was hoping for a little more privacy to sit out when we got back from Cherry Springs at night.
First of all, we received an email confirmation that our stay was approved---BUT, we were not told what cabin number, or anything about the code for entering the cabin. There was NO PHONE NUMBER listed for us to reach anyone. We got there, but there was no one there to help us. We had no idea which cabin we had or how to enter. We were fortunate that one of the cabins had a fellow who helped us get in touch with someone so that we could find the cabin we were registered for. The outside property was a horrible mess. The grass was not mowed; the sign for the facility was broken and was lying on the ground. The porch was in need of paint and the steps were a bit loose. I was wearing a boot for my ankle and had trouble with the steps. We had trouble finding the facility because the sign was down on the ground. Weeds were everywhere. Inside, the place looked very nice and clean, but the smell of mold/mildew was strong when we entered. There was a sign on the refrigerator saying that it was just repaired, but the ice maker in the fridge and the water dispenser did not work. The air conditioning in the living room was faulty. It needed a filter change, which affected it and it ran only every now and then, causing the room to feel humid and uncomfortable. The bathroom exhaust fan was not working at all. There were many nice choices with body wash, shampoo and conditioners, but many (almost half) of the containers were empty. We spent over $400.00 for the two nights!
