The house was great, even in 90 degree weather with no a/c, fans blowing in the cooler air from the stream kept the house very comfortable. You can see plenty of stars from the property, so we were able to sit by the fire and stargaze intead if freezing our toes off at cherry springs. The mattresses were fantastic, which is not always the case in vacation rentals. The only feedback I have is the water softener maybe? Iâm not sure itâs fixing whatever the issue was with the water mentioned in past reviews. The water felt almost like when you wash your hands after you put on lotion. It was fine to shower in, but we didnât drink it. We always bring a couple cases of bottled water with us and it was a short stay, so this was not an issue for us.
Rated a 3 because the stream behind the house is not a stocked trout stream any longer and this is why we were in the area. We couldnât get the TV in the bedroom to work. (Although this was not a deal breaker) The drive way had a big pot hole in it. The front door that you do not use kept opening on its own even though it was locked. The house was super clean and comfortable. Although we didnât need anything in the kitchen other than the coffee pot it was fully stocked with pots and things to use if making dinner there.
Very nice place. Quiet, enjoyed the peacefulness of the place. Nice little memorial park right down the road. Place was well set up and had everything we needed. Plenty of attractions in the area.
It was a beautiful place to stay, and the only noise was the occasional car and the babbling Brook. The only complaint we have is the water. It was very murky and smelled really bad. We honestly didnât use it. We went and bought bottled water and use that for coffee and for washing up. May want to look into a filtration system, or tell guests to bring their own water. Otherwise, a great place to stay and very reasonably priced.
Only two issues. There was a leak in the refrigerator and I lost wifi service on Saturday morning. This made me decide to cut my stay there short by a day.
Overall the place was very nice. We had a few issues with the fact that most of the windows either did not open or did not have screens in them. The provided cookwear and utensils have more then seen better days the utensils were burnt and melted all the cookwear was non stick but most of the coating was gone and nothing was washed very well before it was put away. There was barely enough dish soap the was two sets of dishes. There was not enough paper towels or bathroom tissues provide. The only other issue the pictures of the stream from the listing are very deceiving. The water level was down while we were there that is understandably uncontrollable but the stream bank was extremely overgrown and unpleasant appearing.
The property was just what we needed to get away from everyday life. It was very relaxing!! The only negative thing I could say is there was no grill, but that was it. We enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to stay again, maybe when it's a little warmer.
