Long weekend stay at Cradle Point

We cooked all our meals using both kitchens and had plenty of room and supplies to do so. Absolutely loved the grill and outdoor seating arrangements. We had plenty of room for everyone and the home matched exactly as advertised.

Awesome Place on the Water

We were in town for a wedding and the house was perfect to accommodate our whole group. It was a great location close to the wedding venue. We loved sitting outside on the deck drinking coffee and morning cocktails. Would definitely recommend!

The location was great, nine bedrooms was great, seven bathrooms. The house is very clean when we arrived, having the second kitchen in the guest house was really excellent. Two full-size refrigerators in the main house was also a really good bonus. The host was very attentive to our needs.

Wonderful house and property; spacious, clean, well-equipped. Internet connection was flawless. Home theater was a nice touch. Excellent refrigerator and freezer space with two in kitchen area. Guest house was very helpful. Property well maintained and welcoming atmosphere. One of the best things in our experience was the availability of the host who responded to our concerns an inquiries super quick and was always helpful. Would stay there again and recommend to others.

Fabulous property !

We had a wonderful time staying at this home. We were a group of 12 ladies getting away for a girls weekend. This place was perfect, we did not leave for 3 days! Pickleball, paddle boarding, hot tub, and the arcade kept us busy. We were also able to go on long walks in the area. Plenty of room for everyone and a nice large kitchen to cook meals in and just hang out!

The house was nice and big for our family of 15. Guest house worked out well.Houses were not as clean as we expected.Host kindly allowed for early check in for part of family from west coast, who had taken a red eye.Big yard, with dock on the water. We enjoyed the pickleball court. Teenagers loved the arcade room.Indoor pool was nice, as river water very warm. But containers of assorted chemicals, etc. left in pool area. Not enough dish towels in kitchen. Plumbing problems from day one persisted throughout our stay. Host did respond to our complaints, but some problems were never resolved. We heard generators in neighboring homes running when our power went out. Not sure how often power outages occur.Lots of miscellaneous trash in yard- a top to a paint can, with dried up paint still on it, other items .Bottom line:Needs plumbing problems repaired.Clean up yard.Thorough cleaning of both houses.A few more amenities such as extra dish towels.More information about checking in and checking out, plus local information would be nice to have in the house.

I have to say that I was disappointed with the lack of cleanliness of the house. I realize that it is a very large house, but all the same, it should have been cleaned and maintained better for a short-term rental. The owner only supplied one old bath towel and one cheap new wash clothe per guest. No hand towels were initially provided. I contacted the owner and she had towel sent very quickly. The rugs did not look vacuumed, the bathroom rugs were dirty, the shower curtains were mildewed, and the shower/tubs were stained and dirty. The large area rug's edges were curling up and it was a trip hazard. In the kitchen, all the skillets were "crusty" burnt debris in the bottoms. They need to be replaced. A big concern for us with young children was the deck railing was loose. The hot tub was not cleaned. This house has a lot of rooms and amenities for big families. It does need a little TLC and maintenance however.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the size of the home and the amenities it offers for larger families, and we sincerely apologize that the cleanliness and maintenance did not meet your expectations. We were happy to get additional towels delivered as quickly as possible after you let us know, and we’ve shared all of your housekeeping comments with our cleaning team so they can address the issues you mentioned, including the bathroom rugs, shower curtains, tubs, rugs, and kitchen cookware. We also appreciate you bringing the condition of the cookware to our attention, as this is something we’ll be replacing. Most importantly, thank you for letting us know about the loose deck railing. As soon as your stay ended and we became aware of the issue, we went out and repaired it immediately. Guest safety is our top priority, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. We truly value your feedback, as it helps us continue improving the experience for future guests. We appreciate you choosing to stay with us and wish you and your family all the best.

Peaceful Getaway

The property was as pictured/described with a nice, open layout for the common areas that felt very inviting. No issues at all with our very large family having enough space. Everyone loved kayaking and tubing off the docks. We were able to rent a boat nearby and explore the bay more as well. We made frequent use of the pickleball court and appreciated all the space for the kids to play. Indoors, the walkout basement had an excellent game room and theater room. The kitchen was also well stocked, which I appreciated. It is somewhat "off the beaten path" so heading out for trips or other activities took a bit longer. The only issues we ran into were not having enough hand towels/wash clothes and just a couple small maintenance items that the host happily took note of. There was a small ant problem but it was largely being managed with traps and we tried to be good about not keeping food out. The star of our stay though was the beautiful and peaceful views from the back porch. We saw gorgeous sunsets, a variety of birds, and Osprey diving for fish. The area was whisper quite at night. A great location for anyone looking for rest and relaxation.

Not As Advertised And Not Worth the Price

As a disclaimer, we are not new to VRBO and have never given or received anything less than a 5-star review. The location, the view, and the home layout are excellent and would normally be conducive to a relaxing gathering/vacation. Unfortunately, we arrived to the house to find (not a complete list): portions of the exterior deck boarded off which required going outside and around; numerous windows/doors without screens; wasp nests in deck furniture; construction/repair materials left in public areas; closet doors hanging off their tracks; dilapidated and legitimately unsafe deck bar and stools; poorly installed bedroom/bathroom cabinets that basically rendered them unusable; and unsupported decking that a family member stepped through. We did not approach the host about these things during the visit as we didn't want work being done while we were there. However, to be fair, she was very responsive to other things that came up during the visit. Afterwards, we did provide feedback directly to her regarding the issues and let her know that we were extremely disappointed in the premium price charged versus the misleading listing and the overall condition of the house. She thanked us for the feedback, indicating that it would help them to improve and that they had already begun addressing some of the issues. No refund was offered and we left feeling somewhat cheated.

We loved the property and all the amenities. Communication with the host was great. The floating dock and pickle ball court were our favorite things. As others have mentioned, cleanliness was a concern. With a little TLC, this would be an amazing property.
