Welcome to New River Overlook, a beautifully situated three bedroom 2 ½ bath house on 3 acres right across the river from the Elk Shoals/New River State Park, just 10 minutes from trendy West Jefferson and the Blue Ridge Parkway. This quiet, comfortable, pet-friendly getaway is easy to get to, with paved access all the way to the ample parking up the gently sloped drive. Grab a chair on the terrace and enjoy hearing nothing but nature as you gaze up the river valley!

You will enjoy the view as you sip your coffee at the large bay windows on both floors, an expansive vista up the river valley looking across at the Elk Shoals park. The “NASCAR” themed (ha!) kitchen plus wood/charcoal and gas grills in the large backyard will make for memorable meals. The 3 acre lot has both open terraces and wooded hills, great for play and exploring. Follow up lounging by the fire pit or in the hot tub.

Our upper terrace features a recreation area, with a large deck and “rustic kitchen”, plus a ping pong table, exercise equipment, charcoal grill and firepit!

Downtown West Jefferson is only a 10 minutes away. Enjoy tons of shopping, great dining options, breweries, as well as many historic attractions. Visit Churches of the Frescoes, one of West Jefferson's most visited attractions, or head to Mount Jefferson State Park and admire the stunning long range mountain views. Boone and Blowing Rock are also nearby, about a 20-30 minute drive.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- All BRMR homes offer well stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals. There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two. We do not provide hair dryers. Towels and linens will be provided
- Check in is after 4pm and check out is by 10am
- Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
- Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
- No smoking inside the home. No trace of smoking left outside the home.
- Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.
- No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
- 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.
- This home allows up to 4 mature, well-trained dogs with an additional pet rent of $25 per pet per night plus tax. Pets other than dogs are not permitted.
- There are paved parking spaces for up to 6 vehicles.
- Please note that the distances shown on VRBO's map feature are measured in a straight line rather than actual road travel distances and times. We cannot change their setting for this, and encourage all guests to independently verify distances to desired destinations.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit.
Bookings canceled within 59 days of the arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest.
All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
