Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. Located in the heart of the Red River Gorge area. Enjoy a weekend away in the gorgeous mountains of Kentucky where there is plenty of adventure to be had.
This cabin was awesome! Super clean, in a great location, and loved waking up in such a cozy environment when it was raining. We definitely will come back!
The cabin was great. We enjoyed the wooded lot and remote and rustic feel but modern amenities like wifi, as well as the proximity to restaurants. The fire pit was a hit. The place was clean place, instructions were clear, and our stay was overall great.
The cabin was very nice. Modern kitchen and bathrooms were beautifully done. Beds need upgrades badly. Instructions for fireplace also needed. Spiral staircase needs some work done. But with everything I've listed, i would still return in the future and recommend to everyone i know. I can tell the owners have made improvements and are trying to continuously upgade.
This review should be for the 8 person cabin. I want to say the name was âBearly Irresistibleâ. The review is here as we were given an upgrade due to previous renters not leaving the cabin we were supposed to be in. We went to Red River Gorge for our anniversary and needed a place to stay. I chose this location because the view looked lovely. Took a few hours to drive to. The drive was great. As we pulled into town, I get a phone call from the owner saying the previous guests wouldnât leave and went on about how VRBO told her to call cops and she didnât want to. We were told this 30 minutes before check in and I was already worried we werenât going to get to stay here and would have to look for a hotel. I should have picked the hotel either way. The owner told us we could be upgraded since we were out a cabin. It was difficult to find as the name Poplar Place was large while the numbers were black and blended into the wood slightly. They also werenât anywhere near the size of the name of the place. When we did get there, we initially thought that we got incredibly lucky. We did not. I would give details, but only have 1500 characters. Problems:-Jetted tub with no jets- out a hut tubMice feces in bathroom floorBurnt out lightsSticky goop on floorNails protruding from stairs - S/O caught foot on oneUsing tub upstairs leaks into basement bedroom and has been since 2021 according to reviewsLitter around fire pitI have pictures of most of these. Health Hazard.
We just stayed overnight at the Mountain Hideaway on Debbie Lane in KY. To say we left disappointed is a huge under statement. I will first state the facts: We arrived after 3:30PM (check-in time) but we never received a message with the lock box code or check-in information so we were locked out. We called the host number and no one answered so we left a VM. Right after leaving the VM, host immediately emailed us the lock code and check-in information.Just FYI parking is problematic at best. Good luck parking and then turning around to get back out. Place had no heat until 8:36 PM that night. Furnace wasn't working. It was 49 degrees in the cabin when we arrived. Host admitted they knew it was having a breaker issue but will send a furnace guy out.No wifi, TV or dvd player. None of it worked and wifi PW said wrong PW every time.Fireplace didn't work, host said they had turned it off for the season. Listing listed Fireplace/heat. It had neither. No soap or shampoo were provided nor was any laundry soap. There are no closets anywhere so you cant hang anything up. This was a stressful place to stay the night but it did have hot water. This is the facts, opinion is its poorly owned & poorly cleaned and maintained,No credit, discount or refund has been offered by the host for a late lock code for entry, no heat for 6 hours, no fireplace, no tv or wifi, no soap provided & the result is no happy customer. Very, very disappointed in our stay. We will not rent again.
Great communication with the host. Check in was easy and straightforward. Cabin is very spacious for it's tiny foot print. We could tell effort was put into updating the kitchen and bathroom. There is no wifi and cell service wasn't great. Forces you to relax. Very close to Natural Bridge Park and Gorge Underground attractions. Close to some great restaurants and gas stations. The cabin is old and creaky but that only added to it's charm. Two things to note: 1) the road to and drive way are extremely steep. It was difficult to park and move with a full sized truck. Also the stairs to the loft are very steep and unnerving. Anyone scared of hights wouldn't make it up them. We are so glad we got away for the weekend. Was very enjoyable.
