À propos de cet hébergement

Cette maison récemment mise à jour est située sur l'une des meilleures plages de l'île. Les maisons sont à quelques pas de la plage de sable mais a une végétation mature pour vous donner l'intimité de la plage publique. La maison porte des noms affectueux Kolea (nom hawaïen du Pacific Golden Plover) aurait migré entre l'Alaska et Hawaï depuis au moins 120 000 ans, revenant au même endroit année après année. C'est l'une des quatre maisons dans cette enceinte familiale (voir aussi Honu, Ehu Kai et Ulu Niu), Kolea elle-même représente la continuité, avec de nombreuses familles y revenant chaque année - pour une bonne raison: c'est une trouvaille rare: une maison de vacances en bord de mer à un taux abordable. Situé au milieu de l'ombre de refroidissement d'une collection de cocotier qui était autrefois le plus grand dans l'état, cour gazonnée de Kolea est près d'un acre en taille-idéal pour les enfants. Steps est loin de la plage de sable blanc Waialea Bay, où vous nager, plonger, tuba et bronzer tout en appréciant le honu (tortues de mer), des raies manta et de l'activité de baleine hiver.
La maison de trois chambres à coucher, deux salles de bain, deux étages, construite en 1969 et récemment rénové en 2017, offre une vie confortable sur la plage avec des brises fraîches, des repas en plein air, des vues sur l'océan et des couchers de soleil spectaculaires. Kolea est l'un de seulement une poignée de locations de vacances disponibles sur Waialea Bay, un endroit prisé pour les vacances à Hawaii.

Amazing!

This home was absolutely perfect for our family and made our stay even better than we imagined. The view from the back porch and easy access to the beautiful beach were a favorite! The house had all the comforts of home…well stocked for cooking, easy to use amenities such as TV, washer/dryer, plenty of linens and comfy beds. Mary was extremely attentive and made sure our stay was perfect. We happily recommend this wonderful home!

Perfect 2nd Stay - Longtime Repeat Clients

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We first stayed with 2Papaya in 2016 & this is our 2nd stay at Kolea House. We have also stayed at least three times at the Ehu Kai house, four times at the Honu house, and once at the Blue Makai house. As always, the house was perfect and the 2Papayas crew was friendly & helpful. Staying at Beach 69 with 2Papayas is our go-to relaxing vacation. The beach is stunning, with mild to no surf, snorkeling, and plenty of shade. Walking out the front gate and directly onto the beach is an amazing feeling every time you do it. The upstairs lanai overlooks the ocean, but still feels private from the beach because of the vegetation surrounding the property. Kolea House is perfectly set up for families or groups traveling together. The kitchen is well-equipped, the beds are very comfortable, and everything is spotless. My favorite feature of staying with 2Papayas is their dedication to using unscented cleaning and laundry products. Vacation rentals often reek of highly scented cleaning products, air fresheners, scented trash bags, dryer sheets, etc. At Kolea House, and at the other 2Papayas properties we've stayed at, all you smell is the scent of the plumeria and gardenia being carried on the ocean breeze. We are booked to come back to 2Papayas paradise in six months.

Beautiful Waialea Stay

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We found Kolea in perfect shape when we checked in (a couple of hours early, which we appreciated). It's a lovely house in a great location, very close to the south part of the beach. The large lanai was great, with beautiful views, and we ate all our meals out there. The house is very well maintained, the kitchen has great appliances and everything you could need (one exception: no champagne glasses!), beds are comfy, linens of excellent quality. Plenty of fans & screens meant we never needed the A/C, though I'm sure it's nice to have in the summer. We really appreciated the large yard with loungers, and the fence and gate to the beach being "hidden in plain sight" so we had no concerns about beach goers accidentally wandering in. A few of our favorite things: Kauai shrimp from Da Fish House, chicken pies & mac nut tarts from the Hawaii Tart Company (at Waimea Farmers Market), steak from the Waimea Butcher, local butter from Kohala Grown Market in Hawi, lunch at Bamboo in Hawi, dinner at Napua at sunset, the Arts Co-op in Kapa'au, Nalu Builds in Hilo and, most of all, 2 Papayas' great service. We've booked with them for over a decade and have never been disappointed. Thanks to all of you for another great stay!

Wonderful

We had a great trip. Everything was wonderful. The view to the water was my favorite. I loved having the windows opened and hearing the ocean. We rented a kayak for the week. We rented bikes for the week. We used the kitchen for almost all our meals. The snorkeling from the beach in front was great we saw lots of fish, an octopus and turtles. At night we went out to the rock pools and could see brittle stars and all kinds of stuff. Lots of different kinds of birds. Mary from 2 papayas is great. We didn’t have any issues but she was available if we did. We had a question during our stay and she responded very quickly. I would love to stay again.

Great House on 69 Beach

I have stayed on 69 Beach before at another place but much prefer this fantastic house. The interiors are updated and the expansive yard gives nice privacy between you and the rest of the beachgoers, of which there can be many since 69 Beach is the best around. The kitchen was better stocked than many vacation rentals I've been in, which is appreciated as you're not going to want to leave for meals. The property manager is top notch ... don't hesitate to book if you're wanting a low-key beach trip with a smaller group.
