Ehu Kai signifie «Sea Spray», du nom de l'air salin tropicale commune près de la mer. Ce gîte d'une chambre est situé en bord de mer sur l'une des rares plages de sable de la Grande Ile. Plongée en apnée, la plongée, la natation et farniente sont tous disponibles pour vous venez à quelques pas de votre porte. Ehu Kai est construit à l'étage pour profiter de la brise de commerce sympas et la vue sur l'océan de la véranda couverte. Il y a une chambre avec lit king-size, d'un canapé-lit dans le salon, adapté aux enfants de moins de 12 ans. Venez nous rendre visite pour un séjour de détente loin de tout dans ce lieu magnifique où les clients ont été reviennent année après année pour faire des vacances en famille souvenirs

Beach 69 one bedroom

A totally unique property on the big island on one of the best beaches that has homes to rent.Mary Fox, the property manager does an excellent job as she has done for years.Although the house is charming and the proximity to the beach his close, be advised that this house has almost no storage place for suitcases, etc.

We're glad you enjoyed your stay, Bill. Thank you for your recommendation of the addition of a luggage rack. The house does have a closet in the bedroom to hang clothes, a large chest of drawers just outside the bedroom and an enclosed laundry room plus beach toy room in the carport where luggage can be stored if needed. We appreciate guest suggestions.

Great location

We really could not have picked a better spot. Our host greeted us on arrival with cool towels and a lei for my daughter's birthday. Stores are close to stock up and the beach that has the best weather on the island is steps away. The beach chairs provided were used every day and the snorkeling and rope swings provided all day entertainment for our 10 year old. Lots of cool creatures and flowers to check out right on the property. There was a great library to cover your reading interests. Internet worked great. The place has everything you need for a great vacation.

Basically right on the beach, but with privacy. Stocked with everything you might need or want and Mary’s team is just a phone call away in case anything comes up. From having the Hawaiian music channel playing and cold towels and a pitcher of cold filtered water in the fridge when you arrive, to the papayas and limes ready to use. We settle in like it’s home.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a very comfortable home for a couple or small family. We also rented Ulu Nui as we were a large family group. The location is oceanside, with a white sandy beach, has fantastic swimming and snorkeling with turtle viewing nearby. We had sunset watch every evening, beach star gazing at night, barbeques, and dinners on the lanai. The beach is easy to access for small children. Location is quiet, an easy drive to markets, shopping or entertainment. Most mornings and evenings I was the only one in the water! Manager is attentive and services are all arranged for a carefree visit. Love, love, love this location and the accommodations.

Great location! No air conditioning...

This was our first time to the Big Island and found the location perfect. The rental was well stocked and looked exactly as pictured. The only draw back was there was no air conditioning. Our trip was in July with 91 degree days/80 degree nights and humidity well over 50%. We couldn't spend anytime in the house during the day. I was hoping to take a nap after the beach and it was not possible. Some nights were okay when there were trade winds. Sadly, only a few nights had a breeze. They have many fans, unfortunately, it wasn't enough. A window or wall air conditioner would be a great addition to the bedroom. I would rent this location again, but not in the summer.

Thank you for your review. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the location and found the home to be well stocked. Most homes in the area are not air conditioned and rely on trade winds and fans. This can be a huge change for guests that are from areas that are predominately air conditioned. We would have been happy to bring extra fans over if it may have made a difference in helping you take an afternoon nap, as those are nice to have after a day at the beach. We do manage a handful of homes with air conditioning so hopefully we can be of assistance if you return in the Summer. Small but Sublime

Our family of 4 was more than comfortable in this beautiful loft home. Mary was wonderful and attentive, making our stay at Ehu Kai the best lodging of our entire trip to the Big Island (we also stayed at another house and two resort hotels). Without a doubt, the best thing about the house was the location. The street was quiet and secluded, unlike the houses a little further south on Puako. Waialea Beach is a breathtaking, white sand beach. It isn't a very deep beach, but it's sandy enough and shady, and its proximity to Hapuna Beach, which was spectacular, probably kept the crowds down. There was a lot of coral around the rocky parts of the beach that made the snorkeling very nice, and a strong swimmer could swim around the southern point and snorkle the absolutely amazing reef around Puako. Reef shoes were a good idea in this beach, since only a small portion in the center had sand any significant distance from the shore. The location of the house was great for visiting the Kohala Coast, but a little far if Volcanoes National Park and the tropical side of the island are of greater interest. We did day trip to Waipi'o Valley, Hilo, Mauna Kea, and Pololu Beach and, although doable, the drives were far enough that we didn't get to enjoy the beach back at the house as much as we would have liked. If vacationers are only interested in finding a nice spot on a beach and enjoying the sun, sand, and snorkeling on the western side of the island, there was nothing better that we came across than this part of the Kohala Coast. One thing good to know is that strong winds kicked up every afternoon and evening we were there. These winds cooled off the house nicely every night, but kicked up the water so much in the afternoons that snorkeling wasn't much good after lunch. Mornings were the best for snorkeling, although the only sea turtles and moray eels we saw were in the murky waters late in the afternoonon at the house. Everything at the house worked well. My husband and I were comfortable on the bed, and the kids did great in the living room on the sleeper sofa. The only warning I would give to future renters is to plan for stocking the house a bit. There was no shampoo or conditioner, and the toilet paper ran out in two days, so we had to run out for some necessities that hotels normally stock on our second day. However, the heated outdoor shower, airy lanai, laundry room, great management, comfy interior, and fabulous location made this place 5 star anyway.
